Most of the Internet Marketers seem to think of website
promotion as just submitting to search engines,
directories, link building and advertising in ezines or
banner exchanges. Today we’re going to look at an
alternative to these options that most people never think
of using.

It is a known fact that most people in the world use most
of their time off-line. They read newspapers, magazines,
listen to radio and watch TV, talk with their friends,
neighbors and family. Not all the time is spent surfing on
the internet.

To ignore the value of off-line marketing is to leave 65-
70% of the money to be made from your websites on the table.

Some suggestions for creating an off-line
advertising/publicity campaign are:

Let your local papers know that you have an unique product
that will benefit the local community and you are able to
help them save time, learn more and be more effective in
their daily lives.

This could lead to an interview with a local reporter or
even with a national with your website product as a
featured item and will drive people to at least see what
the buzz is about.

At the very least it will create an awareness of your
domain name or product in their sub-conscience mind.

Try finding a local business that is related to your
product and offer them a discount voucher to give their
customers for your product.

Take out small ads in local or niche magazines to
advertise the product. Some ads are relatively cheap
comparable to a solo ad in a main ezine.

Try handing out flyers with a special offer in the high
street or find shops that would allow you to leave them on
the counter for customers to pick up.

Try sending a fax broadcast to businesses that could
benefit from your product. Some companies have lists of fax
numbers and can send out the fax for as little as interview
each.

If you can develop an unique twist or benefit of your
product or service, then you could become newsworthy and
even get an interview with a local reporter, who can write
a better article than any you could put together for their
readers or listeners.

Investigate the possibility of sending out Press Releases
to the local media. Send them your product for review. Get
a well known celebrity to endorse your product.

I am sure you can think of many other ways to use off-line
marketing, other than sticking notes on lamp-posts to
create an awareness of your site.

Good luck!

Top 3 Ways To Boost Your Affiliate Commissions Overnight

The ideal world of affiliate marketing does not require
having your own website, dealing with customers, refunds,
product development and maintenance. This is one of the
easiest ways of launching into an online business and
earning more profits.

Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what
would be the next thing you would want to do? Double, or
even triple, your commissions, right? How do you do that?

Here are some powerful tips on how to boost your affiliate
program commissions overnight.

1. Know the best program and products to promote.

Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will
enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest
possible time.

There are several factors to consider in selecting such a
program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission
structure, have products that fit in with your target
audienc, and has a solid track record of paying their
affiliate easily and on time.

If you cannot make sales with this affiliate product, dump
it and keep looking for better ones.

There are thousands of affiliate programs online which
gives you the reason to be picky. You may want to select
the best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.

Write free reports or short ebooks to distribute from
your site. There is a great possibility that you are
competing with other affiliates that are promoting the same
program. If you start writing short report related to the
product you are promoting, you will be able to distinguish
yourself from the other affiliates.

In the reports, provide some valuable information for
free. If possible, add some recommendations about the
product. With ebooks, you get credibility and you will have
a higher chance of enticing your readers to try what you
are offering.

2. Collect and save the email addresses of those who
download your free ebooks/reports.

It is a known fact that people do not make a purchase on
the first visit. You may want to send out your message more
than six times to make a sale. This is the simple reason why
you should collect the contact information of those who
have downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make
follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a
purchase from you.

Get the contact information of a prospect before sending
them to the vendor’s website. Keep in mind that you are
providing free promotion for the product owners. You get
paid only when you make a sale. If you send prospects
directly to the vendors, chances are they would be lost to
you forever.

But when you obtain their names, you can always send other
marketing messages to them to enable you the chance to earn
an ongoing commission instead of a one-time sale only.

Publish an online newsletter or Ezine. It is always best
to recommend a product to someone you know than to sell to
a stranger. This is the purpose behind publishing your own
newsletter as it allows you to develop a relationship based
on trust with your subscribers.

This strategy is a delicate balance between providing
useful information and providing a sales pitch. If you
continue to write informative editorials you will be able
to build a sense of reciprocity in your readers that may
lead them to support you by buying your products.

3. Ask for higher than normal commission from merchants.

If you are already successful with a particular promotion,
you should try and approach the merchant and negotiate a
higher than normal commission for your sales.

If the merchant is smart, he or she will likely grant your
request rather than lose a valuable asset in you. Keep in
mind that you are a zero-risk investment to your merchant,
so do not be shy about requesting for addition in your
commissions. Just try to be reasonable about it.

Write strong pay Per Click ads. PPC search engine is the
most effective means of advertising online. As an
affiliate, you can make an income just by managing PPC
campaigns such as Google AdWords and Overture. Once you
create your campaign you need to monitor them to see which
ads are more effective and which ones to dispose of.

Try out these strategies and see the difference it can
make to your commission checks in the shortest of time.

This Week’s Trivia Answer
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Here’s the answer to the trivia question I asked earlier…

What is the largest painting in the world?

The largest painting in the world is The Battle of
Gettysburg, painted in 1883 by Paul Philippoteaux and
sixteen of his assistants. The painting took two and a half
years to create and is 410 feet long, 70 feet high, and
weighs 11,792 pounds.

Healthy Body… Healthy Mind
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This article was written with the goal of improving your
fitness and losing weight, but it can also be used to help
you achieve ANY goal you set yourself (including earning an
income online) simply by using the same strategy of
rewarding yourself when you achieve milestones…

“Motivators for Success”

Keeping yourself motivated during a fitness program can be
challenging, even for the most experienced exercisers.
Working out can get dull and your routine can seem endless
when you’ve been on the same route forever. Avoid the
pitfalls of discouragement and disenchantment by planning
ways to reward yourself for a job well done.

This is the only body you’re going to have, so you must
take care of it to have the best life possible. You need to
follow a regular workout program but it shouldn’t be a
punishment or something you have to force yourself to do.
That’s why it’s important to build in regular rewards to
maintain your motivation.

The best forwards to incorporate into a fitness program
are ones that do not involve candy or any kind of food.

A common method of “treating” yourself or making yourself
better after a tough day is to buy a candy bar or box of
cookies because “you deserve it.” Nobody deserves 300 extra
calories to get rid of! Calorie-laden treats are not the
way to motivate yourself because those kind of “rewards”
will only involve more exercise later down the road.

Instead, sit down and make a list of activities, music and
books you enjoy. Choose the things that appeal to you the
most - try to have a variety of small, medium and large
rewards to correspond with small, medium and large
accomplishments.

If your goal is to lose weight then plan appropriate
incentives for smaller goals. If you wait until you’ve lost
20 pounds to give yourself a pat on the back then the
journey seems much harder.

Plan to give yourself some kind of reward for every five
pounds lost - buy a new CD or a DVD of a recently released
movie. Another method is to keep track of how many calories
you burn each day and when the total reaches 3500, reward
yourself by buying a magazine off the newsstand that you
normally wouldn’t purchase.

Incentives for your mind and soul are better for you than
rewards for the stomach. When your goal is simply to
increase fitness and build muscle strength, set up reward
points for lifting or pressing heavier weights, for running
two miles instead of one, and for being able to exercise
for longer periods of time. Use the same type of incentives
- magazines, books and music.

Simply the knowledge that you will reward yourself can
make workouts feel easier.

Exercisers who partner with friends or family to reach
goals can use this method with a slight variation. Each
person should write down his or her own reward ideas -
things that you would like to receive as a gift to yourself
for caring for your body through fitness.

Partners should then exchange lists and whenever one
person reaches a goal, the partner chooses one of the items
from the list to reward the accomplishment. This introduces
an element of surprise into the routine and can encourage
you to press on to more accomplishments in order to earn
the incentives you like the most.

An important note to keep in mind is that incentives
should match the size of the accomplishment. Buying
yourself a new piece of expensive jewelry in return for
losing a few pounds will lead either to dissatisfaction
with your other incentives or bankruptcy, since you buy
more and more jewels.

Instead of going overboard on smaller incentives, reward
yourself with an item that you like and enjoy but rarely
buy or take yourself to a movie (but skip the concessions
stand).

If you meet a mid-size goal like running five miles when
your ultimate goal is ten, buy some new fitness clothes or
take a day off work to relax. Accomplishing your ultimate
goals calls for the biggest, splashiest incentive you want.

If you have worked and sweated your way out of thirty
pounds or more, take a spa weekend to pamper your beautiful
new body! Or if you prepared for a marathon for months and
then completed the 26 miles, take a mini-vacation to a
nearby scenic retreat and spend your time relaxing and
reveling in your accomplishment.

Keeping your motivation high can be challenging with the
demands of everyday life. Adding incentives to encourage
you along the way will not only help you reach your goals
faster but will make your life a little sweeter as well.

When Is E-commerce Good Or Bad For Your Business

1:24 am

In this world of odds and ends, God sees to it that everything will be balanced. That’s why the good always has its bad counterpart. Then, there’s always the black and the white, the right and left, the protagonist and antagonist, the right or wrong, and the pros and cons.

With the advent of information technology, even in the virtual community, things cannot exist alone. So to speak, the emergence of e-commerce is also manifested with its own advantages and disadvantages. This is to say, that no matter how innovative e-commerce can be, it still has it flaws.

Let’s cut all this small talk and zero in on the question that slices into the very core of our existence.

E-commerce: is it an advantage or a disadvantage?

This is truly a matter of worldwide concern. Everybody, with the possible exception of really isolated communities with no satellite dishes or no computers, has an opinion on the subject.
But for those who cannot render such opinion because they still cannot distinguish the wheat from the chaff, here are some things that can help you out:

1. It is convenient.

For so many years now, the greatest advantage Internet can give to the people is convenience. It’s basically the same thing in e-commerce.

Generally, e-commerce is all about doing business transaction, which is buying and selling, over the digital world of the Internet. Consumers can easily spot the things they want to buy and the entrepreneurs lay out their products all with just a click of the mouse; everything’s within the comforts of your home.

They no longer have to commute or drive their way to the store. They don’t even have to go to the shop just to pay their items because online transactions are definitely cashless, that is, they pay with their credit cards.

2. Familiarity breeds contempt.

In contrast, e-commerce also has its drawbacks. And even if convenience is the name of the game, some people would still hesitate to buy products online.

They know for a fact that doing business transactions online can be risky.
They know that the Internet is a wild place.
They know that there will be instances that their information is not 100% secured over the Net. They just know too much that they’re not willing to compromise some things at once such as security, privacy, and money.

After all, it’s the consumer’s money that is at stake.

3. It’s cheaper by the dozen.

As the old business adage says, it’s always cheaper by the dozen. With e-commerce, businessmen are able to expand their markets.
The market share becomes worldwide and their products are not limited within the location of their shop. And because it is worldwide, the rule in economics applies: the higher the demand, the lower the price.

Also, with e-commerce, businessmen were able to cut down some of their expenses because they don’t have to maintain a staff that will manage the business. They don’t need to hire additional employees just to look after their business online.
They don’t even need an additional budget for a new building construction or for mail order catalogs distribution.

Best of all, everything’s automated in e-commerce, from ordering to different payment schemes. Plus, most of the products or services being marketed online can be downloaded directly to the consumer’s personal computer.
Hence, there are no additional cost for delivery and distribution.

4. Interactivity versus socialization.

For so many years now, interactivity is the primary concern of most computer savvy individuals. They contend that doing things online provide a wider range of different possibilities because of its interactive facilities.

However, with e-commerce, even if there are a number of ways how to buy and sell products online, still, people regard shopping as a social activity. Therefore, most of the consumers would rather go to shops were they can tag along their family and do some bonding while buying goods.

Or they can always end their shopping spree with some mugs of cappuccinos together with their friends. These are just some of the experiences that most online shoppers cannot equal with.

5. Everything is on the spot.

From web designs to product catalog to advertisements, everything can be achieved with just a click. Business owners can even change their market site instantly. They can update their catalog, change their ads, and renovate their web site, all at the same time.

With e-commerce, entrepreneurs can always assure their customers with updates regarding their business and their products. They can be notified at once if there will be some price changes, sales, or promotions.

6. It’s software dependent.

In contrast, e-commerce is still limited to some possibilities. Even if the web can allow business owners to change their marketing and business structure instantly, they can never do this without a reliable software at hand.

As much as information technology provides a higher level of technical solution, still, the fact remains that information technology cannot stand alone. There are so many instances wherein most transactions online were dependent to the kind of software or hardware installed within the computer.

Business owners also need an advanced computer program to run their e-commerce website. Therefore, these so-called innovative solutions are only applicable to those who can gain access to it.

Because of these facts, it now seems that the pros and cons conflict is similar to the age-old clash between faith and reason.

However, the bottom line is: the success of e-commerce in today’s contemporary businesses is not a matter of the good and the bad. It’s more on the concept of applicability.

That is, e-commerce is good if it is applicable to the customer’s way of life, if not, then it’s not even worth a try.

When Your Business Counts: How To Benefit From Email Marketing

November 23, 2005 4:22 am

Rich Levin, of Windows Me Keep It Simple Series, once said that since the beginning of computing, the success of every computing platform has been fueled by what has come to be known as “the killer app.” It’s simply the breakthrough task, or application, that legitimizes the system and makes it indispensable.

Today, as we kick off the 21st century, the World Wide Web garners the glamour, but the Internet’s real killer app is e-mail. With its overwhelming popularity, the e-mail is now considered as one of the best innovative tool for marketing, thus the term e-mail marketing.

Many business people find e-mail marketing as an effective way of reaching out to people through a more affordable means of promoting their product. It’s cheaper, faster, and easier way of marketing their products online.

Though, e-mail marketing is known as a productivity booster, e-mails can still become a bottomless time pit if it isn’t managed properly. So, to impede a probable clash on your business due to an improper use of e-mail marketing, here are different ways how to use email as a marketing tool.

BRANDS DO MATTER

Most consumers tend to think that most people buy branded clothes and accessories just to be in fashion. In the fundamental theory of selling, brands are not merely made just to set a fad; it’s more of brand identification.

Through this, your product becomes widely known. Brand identification tells your customer what you are and what you can offer them. It’s the psychological motivation that triggers them to buy your product.

So, its better to make emails that project the kind of brand image you want to convey. By doing so, you’ll be able to market your product well. For example, if your business offers baby products, then emails with colorful pictures and delightful graphics will appeal to mothers.

Through your emails, you’ll be able to establish that kind of brand image you want to instill to your customers.

CREATE EMAILS THAT PROVIDE UPDATES

Through email marketing, you can always update your product catalog, brochure, and promotions. You can also increase productivity by creating emails that will give your customers some tips about different activities at the same time marketing them your product.

If your customers know that they can get something in return, they’ll also appreciate whatever it is that you offer them.

USE EMAILS IN BUILDING RAPPORT

Create an email that establishes rapport with your customers. You can make emails that respond to your customer’s inquiries or problems. Or you can make emails that automatically respond to your customers after they have completed an order form.
You can tell them that you have received their orders and that it is currently being processed.

In this way, you do not only make your customers feel they are valued and that you provide good service, but also you are gradually marketing your product well. As they say, good customers service reaps customer satisfaction.
With satisfied customers, you can be sure of having good sales.

USE YOUR EMAILS TO SWEEP AWAY OBJECTIONS

Through emails, you can answer the queries of your potential clients and provide them some information on how they can benefit from your product. You may never know, but sending them emails may be the only thing they need to compel them to buy.

Emails don’t have to be too formal. It’s best that you treat each customer personally by sending emails that help deal with the concerns of your customers. By doing so, they’ll feel enlightened and eventually will buy your product.

USE CONTESTS ANNOUNCEMENTS IN EMAILS

Through emails, you can tell your customers that you’re giving away prizes to those who will win the contest. Everybody loves prizes, and so creating emails that entice them to join your contest first will be a good marketing strategy.

Indeed, emails can be very viable in providing effective strategies in marketing your business. You do not only build good customer relations but boost your productivity as well.

And because it is capable of reaching a wider range of probable customers over the Internet, email marketing can be more efficient in earning more visitors at your site. The more visitors you have at your site, the more chances of earning greater sales.

Internet Marketing: 5 Ways On How To Do The Art Of Online Persuasion

4:20 am

Pigging out at a picnic may be fun, but it’ll give most folks a good case of indigestion. If you have an iron stomach, or you manage to chug enough pink stuff in time, most of what you overeat will stay down. In most cases, the body quickly rejects what it can’t digest.

Your mind works the same way, especially when it comes to soaking up information technology. Undertake too many tasks at once, and you’ll give yourself a good case of cranial indigestion. Much of what you attempt to take in simply won’t stick, because your brain will reject what it can’t assimilate.

If this were the case, then it would be really hard for entrepreneurs to market their products online because people might not even take a glimpse of the offer. So, in order to get people to buy your product online, it’s best to know the art of online persuasion.

Here’s how:

1. Create a need.

The art of persuasion lies behind the concept of creating a need. It’s important that you demonstrate your product in such a way that people will be forced to respond. That is, to buy your product.

You should make them feel that they need to buy the product now. Make them crave for it. Repeat the appealing feature of your product several times in your ad or in your ezine. Use words that make them realize they have to try it out because they have never experienced it before.

2. Learn how to time it right.

Most people contend that the reason why they did not buy the product is that it came in too late or too early. In this case, timing is relatively important in Internet marketing. But this does not necessarily mean you have to rely on coincidence.

In Internet marketing, the best way to time it right is to associate other products that a customer might need while browsing over a certain product that is of instant concern. Say for example, if a person is looking for some new mobile phones, he or she may also be interested with mobile games or ringing tones for that matter. And so, you may tag new mobile games along with the mobile phones. Chances are, people who visit the site will be enticed to buy the mobile game as well.

3. Incorporate the so-called KISS (keep it simple solutions).

Keep in mind that it’s best to make ordering and delivery as simple as possible. Most online buyers do not want further instructions how they will order or how they can get their packages.

Most online buyers are relatively busy people. So, it’s best to make every transaction easy for them to bear. Besides, as they say, simplicity facilitates communication. The easier the process, the more chances people will be pushed to buy instantly.

4. Give a real discount.

If you really want to persuade your customer to buy NOW, then it’s a must that you incorporate a very tempting offer, one that they can never resist.

Try not to fool your customers into offering discounts that do not provide price cut after all. Be more realistic.

Plus, offer discounts by bundles. As the adage say, it’s cheaper by the dozen. For example, you can give them a 50% markdown if they will buy two items instead of one. By doing so, your customer will tend to think that he or she was able to buy two items with almost equal to a price of one item.

5. Create an epidemic.

If people realize what they were missing, definitely, they’ll buy the moment they get connected on the Internet.

In most cases, marketing products on the Internet involves testimonials and stories that create a worldwide phenomenon. If your customer sees to it that he or she is the only person in this planet that does not have it, chances are they will buy them right away.

So, there are the five ways on how to persuade people to buy online products at once.

In the world of advertising, it’s persuasion that always moves people to buy something. Even if they don’t need it or they can’t afford it, they will still buy the product because they were subconsciously compelled to do so.

Hence, incorporating these five artistic ways of marketing product online correctly will definitely make your online business venture escalate really high.

Take A Picture Of What Online Auction Is All About

4:18 am

An online auction is a market place stationed in cyberspace. Imagine if your whole neighborhood puts up a yard sale where you can purchase goods by bidding on them, auction style.

Then one day, they decide to do the neighborly thing and invite their kinsmen from other neighborhoods to participate in this exciting event.

That is how online auction happens, except on a much bigger scale. An online auctioning website is one worldwide business where pretty much anyone with a few bucks to spare, or those with debts that need to be cleared up, can buy or sell products in the comfort of their own living rooms.

All you need is a computer and the ever reliable Internet to get online, a simple but functional website built to allow you to showcase your items, and of course an item to auction off such as card collectibles, toys, records, antiques, furniture, artworks.

The list goes on and on. The online auction phenomenon also revolutionized the way collectors acquire their goods. This is the place where collectible enthusiasts flock from all around the world to get their fix.

Are you still looking for that one elusive Gretzky rookie card that would complete your collection?
Why not try surfing the net, and check out the numerous online auction websites that are out there waiting for you in cyberspace. You might just find what you’re looking for.

Arguably, the biggest and most famous of all online auction sites is eBay, which was founded by Pierre Omidyar in 1995, as part of a personal bigger site called “Auction web”. The site was principally owned by Echo Bay Technology Group, the consulting firm of Pierre Omidyar.

But when he tried to register the domain name EchoBay, Pierre found that it was already taken, so he shortened it to what we know now as eBay.

The headquarters of eBay is located in San Jose, California, where currently Meg Whitman is serving as eBay’s president and CEO, and has been serving since March 1998.

There are many other online auction websites out there, such as: Yahoo, Auction fire, To BuyYa.com, and many more. Most of these sites require you to register and charge a selling fee.

Basically an online auction operates on the principle of bidding on a merchandise in order to acquire the goods. But you don’t just get what you want by just bidding.
You have to be the highest bidder in the end, and outlast, outwit, and outplay all of the other bidders with the allotted time given to you once the bidding war starts.

In the end, after becoming the mighty high-roller, not only do you get that beloved item that you fought so heroically for, but also, bragging rights.
Once you’ve made the acquisition, simply pay for it via an online payment service such as paypal. Other online auction websites do one on one transaction through e-mail.

Knowing how engaging could online auctioning get, the thing is that it is not all smooth sailing. There are a lot of hazards along the road that you need to watch out for. For example, there are some fraudulent online merchants who sell bogus items.

There are also those who take your money, but never send you the items that you bid and paid for. And there are those really bad rabbits who have no intention of buying at all, but bid nonetheless to jack up the price. This is called the notorious “shill bidding”.

So you really have to keep your eyes open and make sure you study the online auction website that catches your eye, before you start dishing out the dough.
You might want to read the consumers’ feedbacks from previous transactions. These usually appear on the online auction websites.

Online auction forums are also helpful in throwing many tips for an auction aficionado’s safety and enjoyment.

Now that you’ve pretty much got your bases covered. It’s time to try your luck at an online auction. Who knows you might just have the Midas touch, and turn everything your hands bid on into gold. ;)

RSS - What Is It And How To Use It In Your Business?

12:10 am

Another growing trend in internet marketing is using
RSS. You’re probably asking, “what is RSS and why
should I use it in my business?”

RSS stands for “Real Simple Syndication.” It is a
publishing standard that allows you to deliver
information directly to your subscribers’ desktops.

This superb new tool is similar to an autoresponder
because you can input your business messages,
newsletter issues, and more into the RSS feed, which
will then instantly send the information to your
subscribers’ desktops.

This is similar to how an autoresponder will automatically
send out your email to your subscribers when you input the
email message into the autoresponder.

All your subscribers have to do is subscribe to your
RSS Feed and they will automatically and instantly
receive all information when you make the information
available to them.

RSS also allows you to enter real-time news feeds,
articles, and other information into your website
so that you can provide the latest, up-to-date
information in your field of interest.

Many internet marketers will use RSS to provide
business and technology news feeds for their
websites. This way, their subscribers and visitors
will be up-to-date with the latest news in their
fields of interest.

This will also encourage your subscribers and
visitors to return to your website to learn about
the latest news from your field. It will also
boost your credibility as an “expert” in your
field because you provide the latest news from
that field.

Because your subscribers will constantly visit
your website, they will remember it better and
also learn more about you and your business.
This will encourage them to seriously consider
your offers and purchase them.

Internet marketers will also use RSS if they
promote many affiliate products. This will enable
visitors to search through them and order more
easily.

Another use for RSS is when you have multiple
websites for your business (for different products,
etc.) You can use one centralized RSS feed to update
all websites at the same time, instead of having to
update each website individually. This saves
valuable time in managing your online business.

In order to stream RSS content, you need an RSS feed
generator. There are many available online that you

can download.

Here is one for free:

In order for your subscribers to view RSS content, they
need an RSS reader, many of which are available for
free online.

November 05 4th Week

November 20, 2005 5:47 am

The celebration of Christmas is approaching, then will
come New Year’s, Saint Valentines Day and so on…

Now, what is so special about each celebration? They all
increase the selling of products. There are many reasons
why you should consider seasonal marketing to promote your
products, including the seven which are listed below:

1. People tend to buy more products during seasonal
celebrations than the rest of the year.

2. People are determined to purchase products, so it is
easier to persuade them to purchase a product you offer
(assuming of course you are doing it the right way).

3. Most purchases concern gifts to others, therefore
quality is what matters while price is less significant.

4. The time of celebration is limited and specific.
Therefore people cannot leave for tomorrow what they need
to buy for the celebration. They must act in a timely
manner. This urgency is a huge advantage to marketers
trying to sell products.

One other motivating factor for buyers is that seasonal
products are limited and something they have in-mind may
not be available in the stores at a different time.

5. People connect seasonal celebrations with their
childhood. That makes them more emotional and as you might
already know emotion is the key factor that makes people
buy a product.

6. It is not always necessary to offer a celebration
related product to increase your sales. Even a valued
Internet product like software or e-books can be a valued
gift.

7. Marketers do not have to invent new or never before
used methods to create interest in seasonal products. The
old traditional marketing techniques are effective and can
still be applied. People want to buy because of the
“celebration”. In fact, many people may not see their
purchase as buying at all, but as an act of making someone
(including themselves) more happy.

Naturally, seasonal marketing may use different strategies
to promote products. Instead of offering a product discount
try the following:

- Offer a portion of the price of your product to
charities and make people feel they contribute to this
charity themselves.

- Try a special offer like “purchase one product and get
the other at half price” or “purchase one product and get
another free to offer as a gift“.

These types of special offers can very easily increase
your sales volume.

So, do not hesitate. Start promoting your products (or
affiliate products) now. And don’t forget, once a
celebration ends, there are many others right around the
corner. People are always looking for reasons to purchase
gifts for others or for themselves.

Creating a Healthy Reciprocal Links Plan!

There exists an endless supply of tools available to
webmasters to help them in making their website a success;
of these one is reciprocal linking.

Reciprocal links have been around a long time.
Unfortunately, they are an often overlooked or under-used
method today. How many times have you searched for a link
partner to find that many websites do not even have a links
page?

Of those that do, few have an area on their website that
actually welcomes you to request a link trade. It seems
these websites are just islands unto themselves. They miss
the beauty of the World Wide Web’s strange, yet brilliant
linking system.

Perhaps it is because it takes so long to build a quality
website and the owner is not at all interested in promoting
anyone else’s enterprise. Maybe they are in a hurry to see
immediate profits.

Therefore instead of putting in the effort and taking the
necessary time to build a web presence, they look to search
engines to solve all their troubles and pronto! Some may
think that linking to another website is making it easy for
their hard-earned visitor to leap over to another website.

While that may be correct, it is also true that the other
website’s visitors are jumping over to their website in
return.

Little do they realize that reciprocal links would give
them a big boost in the search engines. When calculating a
website’s page rank, link popularity is one thing that is
considered by search engines. While it is accurate that one-
way inbound links are given more weight. Reciprocal links
do aid in reaching a higher page rank too.

However, a critical mistake can be made by many a newbie
webmaster. That is trading links with every website that is
willing to return the favor. Search engines take a dim view
to indiscriminate linking. Therefore if the webmaster has a
dieting website; linking with a pet or travel website could
be detrimental to its scoring.

For instance, in their place, the webmaster would be wise
to start trading links with health food, exercise or
vitamin websites for maximum benefit. By creating a tightly
knit link directory of complimentary websites, a webmaster
is encouraging his visitors to see his own website as a
valuable resource for browsing their favorite topic. As a
result, these visitors will bookmark the website providing
the webmaster with plenty of free return visits.

There is even an additional advantage for the webmaster
with limited time. That is when a search engine robot has
indexed his link partner’s website, locates the webmaster’s
link and crawls his website. This may happen before he has
a chance to submit the website directly to that particular
engine. It’s like getting free website submission!

As a webmaster, you not only need to keep your website
updated and fresh. You ought to assure its success by
developing a healthy traffic-producing plan. Certainly it
is important to stay abreast of all the latest techniques
of creating traffic. However, it is equally important to
remember some of the time-tested methods like reciprocal
linking to achieve this goal.

This Week’s Trivia Answer
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Here’s the answer to the trivia question I asked earlier…

A “clue stick” is a metaphorical stick used to “hit” a
person in an effort to remedy that person’s ignorance or
incompetence. If a person is ignorant or incompetent, we
say that person doesn’t have a clue or is clueless.

That’s what the teacher used on me so many times
at school :)

10-Minute Exercises with Big Results - Part 3

This is the third in a series where you will learn
how to make the most of your spare time to increase your
fitness and health.

Research has shown that short, intense exercise segments
throughout the day are just as effective as longer workouts
at burning calories, increasing cardio endurance and
lowering blood pressure and cholesterol.

Even as little as five minutes can go a long way towards
balancing hormones in the body and making you a happier
person - is that great or what? You no longer have to worry
about finding a large block of free time to work out; just
take a coffee break and in five minutes you can feel
totally rejuvenated.

One of the greatest things about shorter workouts is that
they have tremendous potential to reshape your body with a
minimum time commitment. Incorporating strength training
exercises into your daily schedule is a powerful tool for
both heart health and muscle strength.

Use the following ten-minute express workout on a regular
basis in conjunction the other Workouts you have learned
for a month and you will see remarkable changes in your
body’s strength.

You can do these workouts in your office with the door
closed or, if your office is a cubicle, in the restroom or
some other private area.

Express Workout 3 - Arms and Shoulders

Building strength in your upper body is a vital part of
any workout plan and fortunately it can be a fairly easy
area to strengthen. Powerful arms are important for both
men and women to assist with everyday life — it’s
surprising how many typical daily tasks require using the
shoulders, back and arms. By building those muscles, you
will take some of the daily stress of your body. This 10-
minute express workout develops the biceps, triceps, upper
back muscles and shoulders.

Bicep Curls: Curls are done by standing with your feet
about shoulder-width apart and weights in both hands. Tuck
your elbows firmly against your sides with palms facing
forward. Slowly raise the weight almost to your shoulder
for a count of 5 and then lower it, again for a count of 5.

Overhead Press: The overhead press is performed by
standing with feet about shoulder-width apart and a
straight back, holding a weight in each hand. Bring the
hands up to the shoulders and then slowly lift up for a
count of 5. Raise the weights until the arm is almost fully
extended; then release and lower downward.

Triceps Raise: Stand tall with feet slightly more than
shoulder-width. With weights in hands, lift straight
overhead until almost fully extended. Turn palms inward to
face each other. Slowly begin to lower the weight down
toward your back until the elbow forms a right angle; then
raise the weight.

Forward Press: Standing with feet a few inches past
shoulder-width. With weights in hands, bring up to
shoulders. Slowly press the weights forward; then pull
back. Be sure to keep arms level with shoulders and move
forward and back slowly.

Stretches: Stretch the arms by raising your arms overhead,
dropping one hand behind your head and using the other hand
to gently press the elbow back to stretch the triceps
muscle. Repeat with the other arm. Next, raise both arms
overhead, lace fingers together and press arms outward.
Lastly, bring one arm across the front of your body and use
the other hand to press the arm against the body to stretch
the biceps muscle.

Getting Additional Revenue Through Affiliate Programs In The Internet

5:40 am

If you are one of those people who are Internet savvy and are keen on getting more income by just affiliating with commercial websites and referring people to them, then affiliate programs might just be for you.

Affiliate programs work such that you are given a commission when you are able to send individuals to sign up, avail of a service or buy something with your associated website.

There are three basic types of affiliate programs found in the Web. These are:

1. Per-Click Affiliation Program - From the term itself, the payment you will receive will depend on the number of clicks that are generated in your website. The typical payment for such program ranges from US $.01 - .30. This is the lowest among affiliate programs because “clicking” can be generated easily.

2. Per-Lead Affiliation Program - The payment usually come from “sign-ups” that your website generated. If users enter their e-mail addresses, phone numbers and other information, you will be compensated. Since generating sign ups are more difficult than clicks, the range of payment is from US $.10 - 5.

3. Per-Sale Program - This is considered as the most popular among all affiliate programs. This is also called “commission” program. In here, you will be paid on the sales that were generated from your ezine or website. Commission percentage from sales usually ranges from 5-15% and could even reach 40% depending on your agreement and the type of product that was sold.

The following are some things you need to consider if you want to be in the affiliate revenue business:

- Determine your target market before your product. This way, you won’t have any difficulties coming up with your promotion strategies later on.

- The next step is to concentrate on a topic for your website that you are strongly interested in. It is better to concentrate on a small area then work around it. After doing this, select affiliate programs that are closely related to your theme and link them.

- If you are serious in generating more income in lesser time, find out which are hot in the market at the present time. Try to become adept and well informed in one of these and make sure that you link it with affiliate programs that suit the theme/topic.

- Try to also consider products that sell well and have a high demand in the Internet. Such products include bargains and coupon sites. Aside from these, information products such as white papers and digital devices give high commissions and good profit margins.

According to an Ernst & Young study computer related gadgets, gears and devices are the most bought items in the market with 40%, followed by books at 20%; travel is 3rd with 16% followed by clothing at 10%; music has a share of 6% and gifts and investment have 4% each.

- Get your own domain name for your website which is unique and memorable. A domain name gives an impression that you are a serious professional.

- Try to create newsletters you can distribute around in the Internet which will remind people of your website’s presence.

- Make sure you offer good, if not, the best products and services. Remember that the products or services you promote will affect your reputation.

- Try to look for affiliate programs that will pay you generous, if not decent, commissions.

- Install programs that can help you track your promotions. These should provide you real time information in determining which working program you should concentrate on more.

- Sign up with companies that offer lifetime commissions and be wary of the conditions and stipulations that are stated in contracts.

- Avoid overcrowding your website with promo banners and links and make sure that the affiliate programs you placed share a common theme with the site. Visitors will be turned off when they see a sea of banners and links in the site. Don’t lose your site’s perspective.

- Avoid affiliating with sites where information about the owner or company is not shown.

- Research on companies before signing up with them for affiliate programs. Ask for references and contact them.
