Before delving into the money matters of ezines, I would
like to first discuss what ezines are. This is for the
benefit of those people who do not have a full
understanding of what ezines are.
Maybe it shouldn’t come as a big surprise, but most people
on the internet and some self-possessed ezine distributors
do not know what the word EZINE really means.
Ezines are electronic publications distributed by email or
posted on a website. Ezines are typically focused on a
certain subject matter. Ezines are just like your typical
magazine format of monthly or weekly topical publications
in an electronic format.
The title EZINE does not come from the phrase Electronic
Magazine, cause you might be thinking that the E in
electronic and the Zine in magazine are joined to form this
word.
Actually Ezine came from the word FanZine which was a
publication with a small subscriber base back then.
FanZines were targeted publications that were usually
geared towards specific topics like Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and
Football clubs.
Those printed publications were called ‘FanZines’, but were
frequently referred to as ‘Zines’ instead.
Back to modern days, most Ezines are focused around
specific topics and interest groups, just like the way the
Zines once were.
Adding an ‘E’ onto the beginning of the much coveted
publication name “Zines†brings us to the word Ezines. This
offers a much more logical explanation of where the word
“ezines” came from.
Now that we know what ezines are, lets now discuss the
basics of creating and doing business with ezines.
Ezine publishing is a very important factor towards a
business’ success for many reasons. Basically, it keeps you
in contact with your potential customers. The relationship
between your clients is formed and that is what is needed
for trust and respect.
You can also profit by selling advertisements through your
own ezine publication. Ezines can be used both as an
advertising platform for your business as well as an
income-generating endeavor.
When starting out with your ezine publication, keep in mind
the basic and most important elements of a good ezine.
1. Keep your ezines clean, short, and full. Don’t add too
many unrelated decorations or pictures to your ezines.
Ezine page decoration sometimes makes it hard for readers
to read your content.
People are more drawn to reading short ezines than those
long ones that keep on making discussions that go on and on.
2. Minimal advertisement is a must. It is a good point that
publishers must advertise in their ezines, but always keep
it to a reasonable number of about seven or less, depending
on the length of your ezines.
3. Make it personal. When creating your ezines, add your
personality to it. Talk to your subscribers. Make it warm
and inviting. Let them get into you as you get to know them
better.
4. Put in some interactivity. Make your ezines fun as we
can all use a bit of fun. Put a form in there, some survey
questions, a bit of trivia, and other forms of interaction.
5. Put in quality content. If your ezines talk about
something that deals with paper crafts, then make sure it
provides information about how to make paper crafts. Tips,
articles, links, resources, products, tools, news, etc. -
these are all the things you can and should give your
readers.
6. Be on time and consistent. If you posted that you will
be sending out ezines once a week every Monday, then do it
that way. If ever something happens that is beyond your
control that might prevent this, just explain to your
subscribers in your next release and they will surely
understand.
7. Make it a priority to have original content. If you are
not sure about articles, then just write editorials or
short scripts with news updates, interesting tips, and
product reviews.
8. Always proofread your content. You don’t want your ezine
to look like a 10-year old child has done it.
But most importantly, enjoy your ezine, have fun with it,
be yourself, and wonderful things will start to happen. At
least they did for so many success stories - they met great
new people and their businesses flourished.
This can all happen for you as well with your very own quality
ezine!

Common Search Engine Mistakes That Internet Marketers Should Avoid
May 30, 2006 3:04 amTraffic to your web site is what will make you a successful
internet marketer. If you cannot draw traffic, you will
not make money. Normally the creator of a web site does so
with the intention of generating traffic.
You can accomplish this through various forms of
advertising, but the least expensive way is through the
search engines. A successful Internet marketer will design
their web sites to be attractive to search engines.
No matter how impressive the design of your web site, you
will not profit from it if the site is not noticed by the
major search engines.
The effective use of keywords is probably the most
important factor in search engine placement. If you pay
little attention to keywords or use the wrong keywords,
your web site will receive little or no traffic.
The overuse of keywords is just as bad as having no
appropriate keywords. If you repeat the same phrases over
and over the search engines will downgrade your web site or
skip it completely.
Be careful to provide unique content on your web pages.
Search engines will detect duplicate content and may refuse
to index your site at all.
If you want to succeed as an internet marketer you must use
only the keywords that are directly related to your
business. The excessive use of unrelated keywords is an
unethical practice that can cause your site to be
classified as spam by the search engines and possibly
removed from search engine listings. Make certain to use
only the keywords that pertain to your particular business.
Including keywords that are simply there to generate
traffic is not a recipe for success in the world of
internet marketing. In addition, do not use hidden text as
a means of attracting visitors to your site.
Occasionally internet marketers will place hidden keywords
on their site, usually by making the keywords the same
color as the web page so that the words are not visible.
This is also unethical and search engines are smart enough
to notice.
Do not make the mistake of thinking all search engine are
the same. Each search engine has its own rules that are
subject to change at any time. Make a point to learn the
particulars of each of the major search engines. Free web
hosting is also a bad idea.
Search engines will often rid themselves of content that is
provided by a free host. If you are serious about
succeeding as an internet marketer, you must be willing to
build quality web sites with valuable content.
You should also be vigilant in making certain your web site
is complete. Missing graphics and links will not help you
to generate traffic to your site.
These are just a few of the things an internet marketer can
do to generate traffic and be recognized by the search
engines. If you want to profit from internet marketing you
must be willing to put forth your best effort in building
your site and making it attractive to the search engines.
You will waste your time and effort by attempting to build
sites that contain spam or offer no real information.
Internet marketing is a highly competitive business. Your
success or failure depends on how much you are willing to
put into your web site.

June 06 1st Week
May 29, 2006 3:47 pmGoogle Adwords is, at time of writing, the most popular
pay-per-click advertising program on the internet and
including Adwords in your marketing strategy has many
advantages, some of which are obvious and others are not.
First - your ad is displayed immediately, which means you
get instant exposure for your product.
If you waited for your site to be listed in the search
engines it could take months, and then you could be listed
in position 682 on page 68, which of course would mean no
one would even know your site existed.
With Adwords there is no waiting. Basically you can begin
to driving visitors to your site and making sales in as
little as 5 minutes.
Second - your audience is highly targeted to your market.
With Adwords you are in complete control of exactly who
gets to see your ads and who doesn’t through the keyword
search terms you use in your campaign. You can choose to
make your keyword phrases as tight or as broad as you want.
Naturally the more targeted you make your keywords the
less traffic you will receive, but by doing this you know
that your visitors will be laser targeted potential
customers who are willing to fork out a few bucks to get
what they want.
Third - Adwords allows you to run several campaigns
simultaneously, so you can test the results and experiment
on the fly to constantly improve the quality of your ads or
sales copy to increase sales.
Testing is the one of the cornerstones of creating online
success. The more you can test, track and tweak every
element of your business, the more successful you will be.
With Adwords you can even track the “conversion rate,” or
the actual number of sales generated by your ad. This is
precision marketing.
Now all these advantages are great, but if you’re if
you’re promoting an affiliate product there is one single
element of your marketing strategy that you MUST implement
to get the maximum benefit from your campaign…
If you sending your visitors to an affiliate website, make
sure that your Adwords link takes your visitors to YOUR
optin page. This way you can first convince them to signup
to YOUR list BEFORE you send them to an external page.
Listen. You’ve done the hard yards finding the right
keywords. You’ve worked hard to setup your campaign. You’ve
paid good money to grab their interest…
…so why on earth would you simply send them to someone
else’s page where they can get their contact details so
they can sell them a backend product at a later stage? You
get absolutely no benefit in doing this, so if you do
nothing else, at the very minimum you must at least try to
get them to on your list.
If you can get their details prior to forwarding them to
an affiliate site, then if they don’t make a purchase
you’ve still got a chance to make additional contact with
them at a later stage to convince them to make a sale.
Whether or not you choose to use Adwords in your overall
strategy is up to you, but using this as part of your
overall marketing can significantly improve your exposure…
and your profits. So it’s worth considering.
Have a great week

The 60 Second Weekly Tip…
As you may already know, following up with your potential
customers is the key to creating a solid online business.
And one the most effective ways of doing this is with a
multi-part autoresponder series.
The problem is that not everyone is gifted with writing
skills so they find it difficult to create a 7-10 part
series. Well if this describes you, then I’ve got good news
for you… you don’t have to!
All you need do is contact six other website owners and
ask them to contribute one unique article each about your
chosen topic. Allow them to each add their own resource box
at the bottom of their article and then combine these with
your own article to create a unique AR series.
Naturally you would allow all the website owners to send
this AR series to their own lists and when this happens you
have a captive audience much larger than your own list.
So not only are you building credibility by providing
quality content, you are also getting additional exposure
from the promotions of the other
website owners.
This is an excellent strategy to build your list and to
gain credibility without any extra work on your part.

Testing Your Way to Success!
I’ll say this once, and once only. It is imperative that
you continually track and test all aspects of your online
business, including your ad or sales copy. Failure to do
this results in loss of potential profits!
In order to create the most effective ad copy for your
business you need to experiment with whatever it is you are
testing.
For example, if you are testing and tracking your sales
copy you should start by changing and testing different
versions of the headline, or tweaking the design or
altering the layout of the page. And most importantly, you
need to be tracking your advertising.
The only way you can measure the results of your testing
is to track all your changes, so naturally you should be
implementing ways you can do this, such as using tracking
software or something similar.
Ok. Now that you know the importance of testing and
tracking, let’s look at how you can do this…
Changing the Copy…
As already mentioned above, the most important part of any
ad or sales copy is the heading. So the first thing you
should test is the heading.
Try using different key words in your heading. Just
changing a single word can have a significant effect on the
response rate. Use different emotional trigger words to see
which combination is most effective.
It really is as simple as test different versions to find
the most effective wording. You may be surprised at how a
small change can sometimes have a major impact on your
results.
You could even add a video or audio to your site to see if
this increased results. With video and audio becoming so
popular this is a no-brainer and you definitely be testing
this to see if it works on your site.
Tweaking the Design…
Studies have proven that simple things such as the type of
font you use on your pages can influence the decisions of
readers. So knowing this you need to test even the smallest
of details such as using different font styles, font sizes
and font colors.
Emphasize important words and phrases by placing them in
italics, or making them bold, or sparingly using
underlining or highlighting important phrases. Add a
border, a different border color and/ or a different border
style.
Here’s a big tip that most people are unaware of… header
images can reduce your profits!
That’s right. Test’s that have been carried with and
without header images using the exact same sales copy, the
exact same design, the exact same product. Nothing else was
changed yet on most occasions the page without the header
outperformed the page with the header.
Know your own results may prove different, and maybe the
product you’re promoting is better suited to having a
header image. But until you test you will never know. It
just may be that you are leaving profits on the table
without even knowing it.
Try different combinations of all these things to find out
which combination works best.
Altering the Layout…
Rearrange the components of your page to see if it affects
the response rate. Add a short testimonial or two to see if
that has any effect. Try adding more than one order link.
You could even test different navigation links to see if
this makes a difference.
Here’s one that you may never have thought of…
If you have a capture page, which you should have, try
adding more than one subscription box on the page. My tests
have proven that by strategically adding a box above the
fold of the page, as well as at the bottom of the page,
significantly increased opt-in rates.
Test this on your own pages and you may just be surprised
with your results.
Tracking Your Advertising…
It is of utmost importance that you track the response
rate for any adverting without exception. As a successful
online marketer you need to know where you get the best
bang-for-your-buck.
Once you find a source that gives you good results, it’s
just a matter of repeating and improving the whole process.
But unless you know what results you are achieving, this is
not possible.
In order to maximize your profits you need to know what
works and what doesn’t. You need to know what components of
your ad copy works and which don’t. You need to know where
your traffic is coming from.
You may get traffic from an ezine ad, from a forum post
and from a banner ad. One of these sources may bring you a
significant amount of traffic, but if you’re not tracking
them how will you know which of these you need to focus on
so that you can repeat the process?
The bottom line is that you can only find this out by
testing and tracking. And as only about 1% of your
competitors are testing and tracking their online business
you will have the edge over the other 99% of marketers.
I use and highly recommend AdTrackz for this purpose.

This Week’s Trivia Answer
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The answer… Defencelessness.
Did you get it right?

Off-Line Marketing Strategies
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
How to Write an Effective Printed Newsletter!
Printed newsletters are a really easy way to contact your
prospective and current customers. They can even increase
your sales while reducing advertising costs. A printed
newsletter also has a much higher perceived value and is
more likely to be passed around to prospective customers.
Research shows newsletters get four times the readership
of adverts or brochures, and customers are seven times more
likely to buy from you than an average member of the
public.
A good newsletter can improve name recognition and brand
awareness, establish your authority in your field and
differentiate your business from the competition.
Make the layout of your newsletter inviting. If it
contains long-winded paragraphs it may seem hard work to
read. Break up the copy with plenty of space and keep
articles short.
Use intriguing titles or ones that suggest the article
provides quick and easy shortcuts. Also use photographs or
images on the cover to draw people’s attention.
Choose your articles carefully so that each one promotes
the correct image of your business. Decide whether the
article is to reflect your expertise, customer care or some
other aspect of your business.
If you are not sure which areas are important and of
interest to your customers slip a survey into your
newsletter and ask your readers what it is they want to
know. Let’s face it. They’re the one’s most qualified to
tell you what it is they need to know.
Get a balance between generic articles that would be of
interest to your wider client base and those specifically
about your products and services. But don’t forget to check
that the views expressed in articles are unlikely to offend
your customer base.
Try to keep copy simple and as jargon free as possible.
Use short sentences. Involve the reader by asking
questions. How could your business benefit from this
advice?
A profile of a customer can show how your product or
service is used, the results that it can produce, why
someone would purchase from you, and what they are planning
to do in the future with your assistance. If they are
prestigious clients the article will give a positive
reflection of your business as well as providing them with
some useful and free PR.
It has been proven that off-line marketing has a higher
success rate than that its online equivalent. Yes, cost can
be higher than traditional online marketing and this is why
many people do not use this strategy. But if you can afford
the extra expense, it is not unusual to have a high
conversion rate, so the extra costs may be justified.

Most internet marketers, whether operating their business
part-time or full-time, by themselves or with partners,
from home or an office, devote a lot of time to their
business.
In most cases, even more time than a regular job requires.
They are willing to pay this price in exchange for the
benefits owning your own business provides. But almost
everyone, including those who work as employees, neglects
the idea that they are relying on a single idea to provide
their livelihood.
In other words, they are relying on one source of income,
however rewarding it may be. In today’s competitive
internet marketing industry, it makes sense to build some
additional sources of income that will provide an income
safety net and accelerate your financial rewards. This is
known as building multiple streams of income.
The ideal form of income stream is automated, expandable,
will fund itself, and will require no ongoing maintenance
for the internet marketer.
This means the multiple income stream will continue to flow
and expand with little or no maintenance required on the
part of the owner, and that no additional monetary
investment will be required to operate or grow the stream.
Very few sources of income fall entirely into the ideal
category, so as you develop your own multiple income
streams, you’ll need to weigh the benefits and drawbacks to
each and find the income source that works best for you.
Internet marketers must be diverse and willing to expand
into several markets if they expect to create multiple
sources of income.
A popular way of creating an income stream is through the
promotion of a network marketing plan. If you find the
right company and product, that has widespread appeal and a
certain degree of market exclusiveness, you can recruit and
train others within your organization to match your
success.
Once your organization reaches a certain level of sales
revenue you may find that you have a self-sustaining source
of income that will continue whether you actively work at
it or not. However, use caution when considering network
marketing plans.
While you can find opportunities that will lead you to
success, beware of those that have a history of not
delivering the profits they promise or only profiting those
at the top of the ladder.
Affiliate programs are an excellent way of creating a
stream of income. By placing links to your web site on the
web sites operated by others, you can generate traffic to
your web site and increase your sales.
If you operate multiple web sites that feature different
products or services, linking to affiliates is a sure way
to increase your visibility to the public and be recognized
by the search engines.
In return, you provide links on your web site to those of
other affiliates. Depending on the particular program, you
will be paid a commission each time someone clicks on an
affiliate link on your web site or each time a sale results
from that click.
Internet marketers have unique opportunities to create new
multiple income streams. From online retailing to dating
services, from specialty software to information
publishing, the internet has made it possible for
individuals to inexpensively and quickly create additional
sources of income for themselves, in areas that hold a
special interest to them.
Internet marketing is a unique vehicle that will allow you
to develop multiple income sources quickly. Research
various internet marketing opportunities and find the ones
that will provide you with dependable, multiple income
streams.

Energize Your Business With Headlines
May 26, 2006 5:23 pmEvery one of your marketing tools needs a headline.
Headlines grab attention. Make your message easy to read,
get your main selling points across, and lead your
customer to a sale.
Generally, you should use a short three-word headline for
classified ads. Use headlines frequently in your web site
copy to help people learn your main message without
having to spend a lot of time online.
Headlines range from those types that hit you right in
the face to more subtle ones that do not seem like a
headline at all. A hard-sell direct mail letter might
have your headline in all capitals at the beginning.
Your headline gets attention when it appeals to the
interests of the readers. Use your headline to point out
a problem the reader has or something you know the reader
feels strongly about.
Headlines are not the best place to list the features of
your product or service. Instead, headlines should
showcase the benefit the feature provides and offers.
Studies have shown that headlines get even better results
if they are enclosed in quotation marks. It is one good
trick to use from time to time.
Over the years, copywriting pros have found several
headline formulas that almost always work well.
Try some of these headlines.
1. Ask a Question. “Are you worried about filing your tax
return this year?” A question headline gets the reader to
answer in his mind subconsciously.
You automatically get the prospect involved in your
message. Many people will read further into your letter,
ad, or web site copy just to find out what answer or
solution you provide.
2. Start your headline with “How to.” “How to buy a car
without getting a lemon.” “How to” headlines work like
magic. People love information that shows them how to do
something valuable. It works for reports or letters that
provide helpful information.
3. Provide a testimonial. The recommendation of a
satisfied customer can go a long way in convincing others
to buy from you. Always include the customer’s full name
and the city they live in.
Many readers will not believe a testimonial where it is
hard to figure out who the author is. “R.A.,LA” works
better if it is written as “Richard Allen-Big Town, LA.”
4. Issue a command. Some classic headlines command
readers to “Aim High” and “Put a tiger in your tank.”
Turn your most important benefit into a commanding
headline. “Stop rushing through life.” “Make more money
this month.” “Feel better about yourself.”
5. Important news makes a good headline. This
particularly works well for big changes in your company
or the introduction of hot new products. “Software
Central introduces the new Instant Forms
2000–professional web site forms in 20 minutes.”
6. Headline a deadline for a special offer. Most of us
are busy and tend to put off taking action. If you don’t
get the prospect to act now, you may never get the sale.
“Save Money Now” and “Get More If You Buy Now” offers
increase the response rate.
7. FREE offers often pull the best response. “FREE report
on boosting web site sales” is a powerful way to get lots
of interested prospects.
There is a myth that affluent or professional customers
are turned off by free offers. Not true. Simply tailor
your free offer to match the style of your customers or
industry. You might subtly headline a “no-cost initial
consultation.”
Prospects are always in a hurry. They are bombarded with
hundreds of ads, letters, postcards, and commercials
every day.
They tend to skip or tune out any marketing message that
looks like it will take too much time or be too much
trouble to figure out.
Headlines simplify the learning curve. A reader can scan
down your page, quickly digest your headlines, and figure
out what you’re offering.
Once the prospect knows you have something she is
interested in, she will take more time to read your
entire letter, ad, or web page.
Spice your headlines with action words like save, act,
run, feel, and do. Cut out unnecessary words. Put
subheadings in your copy to break up stretches of text.
If someone else is writing copy for you, share some of
these power headline ideas with them.
In our hustle, bustle world, good headlines make your
sales materials stand out, easy to use, and motivating.

How To Get Your Own Domain Name
May 22, 2006 10:46 pmIf you are planning to have your own personal address in the Internet, then you should consider yourself getting a domain name.
A domain name is usually named after an individual, your name for example, if you want to have your own domain address for your blog or personal interest site; or other selected words that reflect or give an indication of the business interests of the site.
Examples of domain names include thecleaniningservice.com or beautyproducts.com.
There are many reasons why domain names are essential especially for businesses. Here are some of the following:
- Domain names make your business sound more credible and reliable.
- The URL of domain names never changes even if you change webhosts such that customers are not needed to be informed should you change webhosts.
- A good domain name will make your clients and people recall your company easily which spells more profits.
- Advertisers and sponsors are more attracted in sponsoring websites who have their own domain name.
As an overview for registering domain names, InterNIC is the organization responsible for domain name registration. Registration fees vary and they range from US$ 9 to 35.
The fee allows you to use the domain name for a year and payments are done annually.
But, there are some commercial hosts who are willing to register and pay for your domain name for free while other hosts are willing to register the domain name for but you’ll have to pay the InterNIC fees.
Here are the steps you need to follow to be able to register your domain name:
1. Brainstorm concise, unique and applicable domain names you would like to use and list them. With the huge number of websites in the Internet, some of your ideas might have already been taken already so the more names you can think of, the better.
Consider also the domain name extension want to use.
- .com : no requirements
- .net : no requirements
- .org : no requirements
- .biz : requirement - for commercial and business use only
- .info : no requirements
- .us and other domain extensions for each country (.uk, .au, .ph, etc) : requirements - for persons who are citizens and residents of that country and for businesses and organizations present in that country where domain extension is applicable.
2. Get your IP addresses from the web host you decided to use - if there is one already.
3. Prepare for payment. Credit cards are the way to go for online transactions
4. Apply for your domain name. The very popular www.GoDaddy.com offers a registration fee of $8.95.
There are things you need to consider if you plan to work with commercial webhosts. This includes making sure that you are the registered owner of the domain name.
This is very important because the webhost who registers you in InterNIC can identify himself as the domain name owner which may spell trouble for you in the future.
He now “owns” your domain name and he can now control how he’ll charge you for your use. In order to avoid this, better register your domain name personally.
It is also important to place your name as the technical contact and at the same time, the administrative contact even if the web host presents itself to take care of both positions.
This will give you an edge later should you decide to transfer to a new host.
The approval of the administrative contact is usually a requirement from your current webhost should you decide to transfer to a new one.
If the administrative contact cannot be reached then the technical contact is the next one contacted. There have been cases where webhosts, acting as administrative and technical contacts for a client, make it difficult for their clients to move to other sites by pending the move or by even refusing.

Why Owning Your Own Forum Is The Next *Big Thing*
May 21, 2006 10:46 pmIt seems like every Tom, Dick and Harriett now owns their
own Ezine or Newsletter. So where are savvy marketers
looking to gain their next competitive edge?
Here’s the answer…
… They’re setting up their own Discussion Forums!
Almost overnight discussion forums have become an essential
weapon in the armory of every successful online marketer.
And that’s no surprise when you consider that some of the
big marketing forums are now attracting 4 million page
visits per month.
Just before Christmas I set up my own forum and within a
matter of weeks was receiving thousands of visitors per
day.
But Hhow Do Forum Visitors Equate To Profits For You?
Okay I hear you say… so forums can drive a massive amount
of traffic, but how does that help me make money through
internet marketing?
Actually in pretty much the same way as owning a credible
Newsletter can build your wealth and, over time, generate
a healthy income for you.
You see, as the owner and moderator of a forum, your
credibility will grow fast and before you know it…visitors
will be hanging on your every word.
From that point onwards, it doesn’t take a massive leap of
the imagination to appreciate how this kind of POWER can
lead to increased profits for you.
All you now need to do is quietly talk about the right
products and services and others will likely pile in. If
you like, it’s a subtle form of product placement.
Plus of course, since you own the forum, you have the
opportunity to include your own banner ads or text links to
every thread or page. You can see how this is done on my
own forum http://www.howtocorp.com/forum.
BUT… just like the responsible newsletter editor, you
MUST ensure that you are recommending only the BEST
products and services.
Otherwise you’ll quickly lose all your credibility . Oh and
your forum audience and regular posters will disappear too.
Owning Your Own Forum Can Have Other Spin-Offs
* With a forum you can answer any quaestion just once
If you find yourself in the position of repeatably being
asked the exact same question about your product or
service, then a forum can provide a place for you to post
the answer once and for all. After that you’ll just refer
people to your forum thread on the subject.
* Others will answer questions for you
A bunch of enthusiasts will most likely gather at your
forum and act as an external customer services facility
for you. Your forum can cut your workload dramatically.
* Showcase new and upcoming products
I often release information about my forthcoming projects
to the folks at my own forum before anywhere else. It’s a
trusted community where I can get valuable thoughts and
feedback before launching a toolkit to the public at
large.
So What Are The Downsides To Running Your Own Forum?
Well you’ll need to devote a certain amount of time to
monitoring the posts and ensuring that SPAM isn’t turning
up on your forum. Naturally it will, so you’ll need to
delete it. Ignore your discussion board and you’ll quickly
discover that it has been filled with worthless JUNK posts
and this will immediately devalue the board.
Newsgroups have been around since before the dawn of the
internet - so you may well be asking yourself: “Why are
they really *hot* now?”
Traditional Newsgroups used to require special software to
access and even though they have been popularized through
Google, they’re gradually losing their importance.
At the same time anyone who can set up a website can now
set up their own forum - so they’re here to stay and
naturally “switched-on” internet marketers are taking full
advantage.
I look forward to posting in your discussion forum soon!

Getting More Money From Free ebooks
May 20, 2006 3:17 pmDo you know the secret to making money with affiliate marketing?
Many smart affiliate marketers earn revenue by creating free special reports or ebooks that discuss a specific topic.
These guides contain links to high-paying affiliate products. So whenever someone reads a free ebook and purchases a product from an affiliate link, the marketer earns a sales commission.
But what if you do not know how to find a topic for your free ebook?
If this is the case, here is a tutorial that will help you get started with your free money-making ebook.
As you probably know, affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to generate revenue from an Internet business.
Unfortunately, it is hard to get people to purchase from an affiliate link. Many times, they go to your website and check out your information.
Then most of them leave without purchasing products through an affiliate link.
The problem is you do not have the time to explain to them the value of the products you are recommending.
The solution is you can create a guide that discusses a hot topic related to your product. In this report, you discuss the topic and then provide a solution to the major problem that your readers are experiencing.
Obviously the affiliate product will be the solution to their problems.
How do you write one of these special reports?
In truth, it is very easy to write a 5-15 page special report that is in high demand by readers, while having potential for a high affiliate income.
Look for a topic.
One of the best ways to discover a good topic is to explore forums that cater to your niche or product. Then read up on topics that people have posted.
Many people will post comments on forums looking for answers to particular problems. All you need to do is find a topic where you can easily create at least five pages of content.
Try being part of a forum group. This way, you not only participate in the discussions, but you also can ask for referrals or people who may be in need of what you are offering.
Find a related affiliate product.
Most of the time, somebody has already created a product that provides a solution to the problem that people are having. All you have to do is look for this product and become an affiliate.
The best part is most affiliate programs have marketing material that you can use to help create your content.
After looking at the forum and support material, you can easily create your special report. It can also serve as a comparison source.
Since you only want to get the best results from what you are offering, you may want to see what others have done and the feedback of those who have used them.
In this free ebook, you will discuss the topic in general terms. You will talk about the problem and ways they can find the solution.
Your content will focus on the pain they are experiencing from this problem.
Then mention the solution to their problem: your affiliate product. In your special report, you want to provide useful information while gently persuading the reader to check out your affiliate link.
The key is to talk about the benefits of using the product without being too pushy or making obvious sales talk.
Just make sure that you mention enough to make the readers want to read more about you and visit your site.
Most affiliate products have a sales page, so you can leave the convincing part to the referral site. As long as you do a good job pre-selling your readers on that particular product, they will arrive at the site ready to buy.
Free ebooks or special reports are a great way to earn long-term affiliate income because they can be easily distributed and provide quality value to the reader.
As long as you focus on creating good content for your reader, you will see your affiliate revenue increase.
Not all things that are offered free of charge are useless. Sometimes they can also serve as your path to success. You just have to know how to make it so.

Affiliate Programs Can Be Very Beneficial To Internet Marketers
May 18, 2006 8:58 pmAn affiliate program is, simply defined, a sales job in which you earn a commission.
You will be an independent representative of a company, offering their services and products to prospective customers.
When one of the customers makes a purchase, you get a portion of the profit. Internet marketers can increase traffic to their own web sites and make money form the sales of others through affiliate marketing programs.
Internet marketers can be affiliates for several products from multiple companies, on as many web sites as you operate, in as many businesses as you desire.
You don’t have to travel to remote locations, yet the internet places you in front of a worldwide marketplace.
This gives you incredible diversity in the products you choose, markets in which you do business and neighborhoods in which to sell, all from the comfort of your own home in front of your computer screen.
You could possibly make several sales at once, but you will never have to deal with face-to-face rejection. When doing business on the internet, you don’t necessarily need to make sales to earn lucrative commissions.
Certain affiliate marketing programs will pay you if someone just clicks on a link you place on your web site, fills out an application, or even requests additional information.
And here’s the most attractive part - your web sites work for you twenty four hours a day, each and every day.
Commission rates will depend on the types of products or services that are offered. Tangible goods that will have to be shipped to customers will pay lower commission rates than products like ebooks or software that can be downloaded immediately.
However, 10% of a $600 television is more money than 60% of a $40 software program, so you have to remember to consider the big picture when deciding what affiliate programs to join.
For the best affiliate sales experience, you will want to offer products and services that will appeal to the targeted audience of your web site.
As an internet marketer, you will need to appeal to the interests of your customers when placing affiliate links on your web site.
There are various ways to join affiliate programs. Some retailers operate their own program, and you will join through the merchant web site.
But many internet marketers choose to operate through an affiliate network. These independent companies offer sign-up, payment, tracking and affiliate program management services to retailers and affiliate marketers.
A couple of well-known names are Clickbank and LinkShare. Simply perform a search for affiliate programs and you are sure to find more.
Your sales and clicks are tracked by software. It is your job to make sure your links follow the procedures and rules posted by your merchant or affiliate network.
Some browsers, ad-blockers, and coding practices can prevent the tracking links on your web site from functioning correctly, and you might not get credit if one of your clicks results a sale.
Most affiliate marketers encounter this problem eventually. When it happens, remember it’s not intentional, so do not feel as if you have been victimized in some way. Internet marketing technology is very good, but it’s not perfect.
For almost all internet marketers, joining affiliate marketing programs give you a cheap and easy way to get started in an online business.
These programs can help you produce income while you learn internet marketing techniques and work towards developing your own product or service.
My Software Gold Mine also offers an affiliate program which pays 50% commission for every sale referred by your affiliate link.
