Here is a handy script that allows you to redirect your
visitors from one page to another.

Simply place the below script in between the HEAD tags of your
web page and alter the “5″ to whatever timeframe in seconds
you chose…
(just make sure to delete the space between < and meta or it
won’t work)

Why would you need to do this?

Suppose you initially send your visitors to a page that
promotes your ezine, with the specific purpose of capturing
your visitors contact details (which I hope you already
have). Once your visitor completes and submits this form
you should thank them for subscribing, as well as provide
any additional details they may need to know.

However, you should also forward them to your home page
so that you can provide them with additional resources or
products for their enjoyment or information.

This is were a refresh script is handy. It allows you to
initially forward them to one page… and then
automatically redirect them to another page, after a pre-
determined time, without them having to lift a finger.

Regardless of what you may have heard or believe, creating

This is one of the biggest myths online and hundreds of

Simple Ways to Get Your Site Spidered Fast

The world of Internet marketing is a highly competitive
place. As a beginning Internet marketer there are some
basic rules you should learn about how search engines
spider and index your web site.

Firstly, unless the search engines are able to find your
web site, there is no way the general public will ever know
that it even exists.

So your first priority after you have created your web
site and chosen the products or services you want to
provide is to get your site listed with the search engines.

So as part of your overall marketing strategy it is important
to include a plan to get your website spidered and indexed
as quickly as you can.

Obviously in order to get your site indexed you must first
let the search engine spiders know you are there.

So how can you lure the spiders to your site other than
using manual submitting to the search engines, which is not
a preferred method as this can actually harm your chances
of getting listed quickly.

The good news is that the following methods are much more
successful than submitting your pages directly to the
search engines…

The fastest method of getting your site indexed in super
quick time is to link your web site to another site that is
already indexed, is related to your site and is spidered
frequently.

As a rule of thumb, if a website has a Google Page Rank of
4 or above (the higher the better), the search engine
spiders visit these site on a regular basis, oftentimes
daily. So if you can get a link to your site from one of
these pages it will vastly increase your chances of getting
spidered and indexed quickly.

The best method to get a link from these sites is to
simply approach the site owner to create a reciprocal link
exchange with them.

It is recommend that you first place a link to their site
on your site and then send them a quick message requesting
a link exchange, advising them that you have already added
their link to your page.

If the owner of the site is pro-active in building links
they will generally agree to your request, provided your
site is complimentary or relevant to their own.

Another excellent method of getting the spiders to visit
is to create a blog that is relevant to the topic of your
site and then place a link on the blog back to your home
page so that the spiders have a direct path to follow.

If you do this and then use the “tag and ping” technique
each time you post content to your blog, your site can be
spidered very quickly… in as little as 48 hours!

Other alternative methods you can use to get spidered
include more traditional proven methods such as writing
articles for the various article directories or submitting
posts in popular forums.

Both these strategies have proven to be a very successful
way of not only getting indexed, but also in generating
quality traffic to your site.

Writing and submitting articles is without question the
number one method of generating hundreds of links back to
your site and it should definitely be part of your overall
marketing plan.

If you choose to post on forums, do not to spam. Find a
forum that is highly relevant to your site topic, follow
the forum posting rules, posts regularly with helpful
advice and do not go overboard on your “sig file”.

But just a word of warning… some forums are not that
popular which will have a major impact on how often the
search engine spiders visit their pages, so make certain
that the forums where you post have plenty of activity.

Once you have been able to get your home page spidered,
you will need a good site map that lists the links to every
page on your site to allow the spiders a clear path to find
and index all your pages.

If your site consists of over one hundred pages, consider
using a multi-page site map and make certain that every
site map page links to each of the other site map pages.

But most importantly, make sure that your pages are simple
and free of useless clutter and comply with standard HTML
coding standards, especially your home page. Before putting
your site up you should always make sure that your HTML
validates at… http://validator.w3.org

Getting your website spidered and indexed quickly is the
most important thing you can do to achieve success as an
Internet marketer and using the methods suggested above can
be very helpful in getting your website listed in ultra
fast time.

I am sure that you have definitely come across ads that
read: “1,000,000 email contacts for just $29.99″. And they
may even off to deliver the names in a CD directly to your
doorstep.

This is a trap for the newbie. You know that you need to
get a big list to make it online, so rather than using more
conventional methods that can take many months, you decide
to take a shortcut to build you list.

Stop!

Whatever you do, DO NOT be conned into grabbing these

Your site may be a virtual masterpiece, but if people don’t know about it and can’t see it, then the money and time that you have invested into it are worthless. Building a powerful online presence is much more than substantial web designs.

Being popular on the Internet is much more than basic web knowledge, it has a great deal to do with search engines and effective linking methods. And speaking of linking methods, there are so many ways to get them, which luckily for you, we have listed in this article.

One of the ways to get links that will bring traffic to your site is by submitting your site to search engines. Submit them to reliable and important search engines that automatically and robotically spider the web. Look for a link on the search engine that says “ADD YOUR URL.”

In the US, the most used search engines are Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL Search, and AskJeeves. If you submit and get listed on these sites, there is no doubt that these will feed other search engines with your site, especially in the local area. For Europe and other areas, it is advisable to submit to local listings.

Always remember that it is a waste of time to pay someone to do the submissions for you. Avoid registering on FFA sites, or Free For All pages, and other link farms. Always make sure to check the credibility of the search engine before registering your page into it.

Free sites don’t work well; instead they just bring you lots of spam e-mails and can cause you to be penalized by search engines. If your search engine is already indexed in a certain search engine, don’t resubmit it unless there are significant changes; the search engine spider will come back and revisit it soon anyway.

Since linking from a directory will help your ranking and get you more traffic, be sure to list them in free Open Directory Projects like DMOZ, which is overlooked by human editors.

This hierarchical directory provides content feeds to all the major search engines. Plus, it provides a link to your site from an information hub that Google deems important.

Yahoo! Directory is another important directory to be listed in, though their search results recently haven’t been featuring their own directory as prominently. Real humans will read and too often, pare down your 200-character sentence, so be very careful and follow their instructions.

Somewhat use less than the maximum number of characters allowable, so you don’t have wordy text that will tempt the Yahoo! editor to begin chopping.

You may find some directories focused on particular industries, such as education or finance. Be sure to register with these. You probably belong to various trade associations that feature member sites.

Ask for a link. Even if you have to pay something for a link, it may bring you the kind of targeted traffic from an info hub you need.

Beware of directories that solicit you for “upgraded listings.” Unless a directory is widely used in your field, your premium ad won’t help, but the link itself will help boost your PageRank and hence your search engine ranking. Marginal directories come and go very quickly, making it hard to keep up. Don’t try to be exhaustive here.

Practice reciprocal linking. Find complementary websites and request a reciprocal link to your site, especially to your free service, if you offer one. Develop an out-of-the way page where you put links to other sites, so you don’t send people out the back door as fast as you bring them in the front door.

Your best results will be from sites that get a similar amount of traffic to your site. High-traffic site webmasters are too busy to answer your requests for a link and don’t have anything to gain. Look for smaller sites that may have linking pages.

Only do reciprocal linking with sites that you think are consistent; do not do reciprocal linking with spam sites because this will naturally damage your site’s reputation. There are also directories that ask for reciprocal linking in return for your listing.

You can also make a trade of benefits in your reciprocal linking. If a site is really in theme with your site, ask for a front page – top page listing and have it done for them too. This way you will generate more traffic for each other.

Have you received any emails lately about a brand new niche
product or program that’s really taking the net by storm?

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got an inbox
full of emails from heaps of people promoting new sites or
programs.

But have you noticed how all the emails are virtually a
carbon copy of each other?

There’s a huge chance that all they’ve done is simply used
the same sales copy provided by the owner of the site
and they’re just repeating the same message over and over
and over again. The only difference is the affiliate link!

Annoying isn’t it?

This is a BIG mistake that many people make and it’s a
prime example of a basic rules that is commonly broken by

But if you want value for money this is not a good place
to advertise. It’s just not targeted to your potential
customers!

The best thing to do is to find ezines that focus on a
similar niche to that of the products or services you are
selling.

If you were promoting a membership site, your potential
customers are people who are either looking for home based
opportunities, wanting to start an online business owners
or are existing Internet business owners.

So the most obvious place to start is to search for
ezines that focus on these niches.

Of course the best place to advertise is where the
competition is! If your competition is promoting their
products in an ezine you can bet that it is targeted to
their (and your) niche. So do your homework.

What results should you expect from running a solo ad?

There’s no set figure as to the type of response you
should receive with solo ads. It’s just too hard to predict
because of other variables that influence your results,
such as a poorly written ad, type of products being
advertised, timing, etc.

But a general rule of thumb is that if you can get at
least 5% of subscribers to click through to your site to
view your product then this is acceptable. So if an ezine
has a list of 10,000 subscribers you should be aiming for a
response rate of at least 500 visits to your website.

I have known some marketing campaigns to achieve as high
as a 60% response rate. So if you have crafted good ad copy
and marketed to a responsive ezine list you can obtain
tremendous results.

A handy tip is to ask the ezine owner for the details of
other website owners who have advertised with them. Then
you can send them a quick email politely asking them if
they were happy with the results of the solo ad they placed
with this ezine and whether they would recommend you use
them.

Another key factor on the success of your campaign will be
determined by how targeted the email list is. In other
words how did the list owner attract their subscribers. Do
they have an opt in email list or did they simply purchase
bulk subscribers from a third party.

If most of these people did not ask to be placed on the
list, do they really care about reading the ezine when it
is sent to them or do they simply hit the delete button
when it arrives. These people will never see your ad.

So it is important to find out how different ezines get
their subscribers!

Another important factor to consider is how many issues
do they send out each week and what content do they provide.

If the ezine owner sends out 5 issues a week and all it
contains is ezine advertising you can bet your bottom
dollar that very few people will actually read the ezine.
More than likely they delete it as soon as it hits their
inbox.

I recommend you actually subscribe to the ezine so you
can view the contents and get a feel for the ezine to see
if it really does cater to your market. If you wouldn’t
read the ezine yourself then there’s a good chance your
potential customers won’t either.

Which ever ezine you choose to advertise in it is
imperative that you track and monitor your results. Very
rarely do you get it right the first time. You must
continually test and tweak your ad to get the maximum
benefit from your advertising dollar.
