Why Pre-selling Generates More Sales

In simple terms, pre-selling is the work you should start
doing before you release and sell your product - naturally
that’s why it’s called pre-selling.

You need to build up anticipation and to convince your
potential customers that your product or service has great
benefits that would solve the problems they may be facing
so that they are in the buying mood before they reach your
product site.

Pre-selling is not only about selling your product, it’s
also about selling yourself to your readers and customers.

When you sell yourself to the customer, you are making
your customers think “okay, this guy is not one of those
greedy marketers. He’s actually here to help me.” so that
they will let their guard down and listen to your sales
pitch.

Pre-selling is also the art of building up anticipation.

For instance - if a friend told you his chronic headache
has been solved overnight by “some new medicine” but did
not mention what it really was, would that leave you
wondering what the medicine really is? Particularly if you
suffer from chronic headache yourself!

That’s why by mentioning a benefit that has the power to
solve your prospects’ problems or able to satisfy their
needs - without revealing what the solution is - will get
your prospects dying to hear what you have to say next as
you reveal slightly more about the solution each time.

When you finally uncover the whole ‘box and dice’, your
prospects will be crawling all over your website looking
for the buy button!

However, pre-selling is not just about unveiling your
product bit by bit. In fact, that is only one of the
various ways one can pre-sell.

For example, you might run a weekly newsletter on acne
problems and coincidentally you have just written this
great ebook called “10 Ways to Solve Acne Woes Once and
For All”.

In your newsletter, you can pre-sell by including a
snippet or two from your ebook and mention that it as a
viable solution to acne problems. If people get good advice
from your newsletter, they will perceive you as an expert
on acne problems and naturally will be curious to find out
the ways you can teach them to solve their problems.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to giving value
to people before you ask people to buy something from you.
If you can help people to solve their problems and earn
their trust, they will more often than not be very willing
to buy products from you.

A Simple Strategy for Profiting in Niche Markets

Smart marketers are earning significant part-time incomes
simply by selling ebooks or reports every week. I’m noting
talking pocket change - some are making well over $1k a
month in their spare time.

And the most interesting part is that most of these people
are far from being considered experts in relation to the
reports they are selling. In fact some have no involvement
in the topics they’re targeting. So basically anyone can do
it.

So, how are they doing this?

It’s simple really - and that’s why it works so well…

As I mentioned - you don’t need to be an expert or an
authority on any topic or subject. So this technique will
work for just about any niche market you want to target.

The strategy is to create short 5-10 page mini-reports and
then sell them via Adwords campaigns or on eBay!

Here’s what you need to do…

First off - go to sites such as Amazon, Clickbank or even
eBay! to see which books in your chosen topic are most
popular and selling well. Your aim is to create a short
ebook or report about a specific topic within these niche
markets.

That’s it. Anyone can do this!

Here’s an example…

Suppose there’s a book on the Amazon bestsellers list that
explains what you need to look for when buying a used car.
All you need to do is to write a report based on this
subject.

But here’s the most important part of this simple formula…

You’re going to do it the smart way so that you can have
your report created in as little as a few days, without
having to know a single thing about your subject.

Here’s how…

Once you’ve decided on your topic, go to your favorite
search engine and search to see if there are any private
label articles or reports available on your subject, in
this example we are targeting the buying a used car niche
market.

If you find any products or articles you can purchase them
and then use the content in any way you choose to create
your own short report. With private label rights you have
the right to alter the content in any way you choose, so
there’s no problem with copyright

For example, you could create a report that explains the
top 10 tricks and scams you need to look for when
purchasing a used car to ensure you don’t get lumbered with
a lemon. So you would search for tips on this subject and
compile them into a short report.

Then it would only be a matter of designing some graphics
and creating a simple mini-site to promote the benefits of
your report and then begin sending visitors to your site by
using Adwords or something similar.

Alternatively you could list your report on eBay and sell
it directly from there for some quick profits. If you choose
this option, just be aware that reports or ebooks on
eBay sell very cheaply so you will need to price it at
about $5 - $7 to be competitive.

If you’re just starting out and you’re a little short on
funds, an inexpensive alternative is to search article
directories for articles on your topic. Then you can modify
these articles
into your words and compile them into a
report.

But a word of warning…

If you choose to do this, DO NOT under any circumstance
copy the articles for your own purposes. This is a
violation of copyright and it is unlawful. The only purpose
of searching for articles is to get some ideas that you
can put into your own words.

This is just a very quick example of using the power of
niche marketing to generate a part-time income, but if
you’re deadly serious you could repeat this same process
over and over again to begin creating a substantial online
income.

Effective Marketing Strategies
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

A Better Strategy - SEO or PPC?

Which is the better strategy for your online business -
SEO or PPC?

The simple answer is if used correctly, both strategies
can help you build a very profitable online business. Each
technique has it’s own advantages, so you need to balance
the two to gain the maximum benefits each offer.

SEO is more of a long term strategy so you shouldn’t be
kick-starting a new business and expect an instant flow of
traffic from the search engines.

On the other hand, PPC is an excellent short term strategy
as you have the ability to laser target your visitors and
instantly drive traffic to your site - so this is a great
method that you can use until you start to see traffic
flowing in from other methods, such as SEO.

Now with SEO you don’t always have to wait months and
months before receiving traffic. With the proper niche
research and marketing you can start getting visitor within
days. Once your site is crawled regularly, you can put a
page up and have them indexed in days.

While it can take longer that other methods, SEO is
definitely not a waste of time, unless you don’t plan on
being in this game for a long time. You just need to
implement the right measures and be patient.

SEO is a tough game no matter how you look at it. You can
be at the top of the search engine results pages one month
and drop out of site the next. In fact, I’ve seen people
who have held a #1 position for their keyword for years and
suddenly disappear all together overnight.

Now this hurts at the best of times, but it’s even worse
if you place 100% of your efforts in this one area and
depend on it for your entire income. As they say,
diversification is a good thing and online marketing is no
different.

Of course SEO and PPC aren’t the only ways to market
online… some people do neither and still make a ton of
money.

There is no predicting what the search engines will do.
They will always mess with their algorithms to try to give
their users the best experience they can by providing the
most relevant results for their searches. So you need to
factor this into your marketing.

It’s not uncommon to one day have 50 keywords ranked high
and the next day they disappear. Then two months later you
will begin to see visitors from those keywords when your
keywords get re-listed again.

SEO has changed a lot in the last 12 months and will
continue to evolve in the future, so it is very risky to
rely on it for your revenue. I’ve seen it happen - huge
revenue generating websites dropping out completely and
being placed in the “sandbox” - what a bummer that has to
be!

It’s not my intention to discourage anyone from practicing
SEO. I probably made it sound impossible. It’s not. It
certainly is an incredible way to get free traffic. And any
free traffic is good traffic.

You just need to use a range of marketing methods to limit
your risk and protect the long-term sustainability of your
online business so that you can endure anything the search
engines throw at you in the future.

Which Targeted Segment Are You Marketing To? Part IV

January 24, 2007 3:54 am

Interest Group — Successful Relationship Marketing

One of the fastest-growing areas of Internet marketing of recent months has been the veering away from high-competition arenas that are saturated with Big Boy companies as well as multi-thousands of customers.

The savvy marketer is now looking closely at much smaller markets… niches that have gone unfulfilled as the throngs look to captivate buyers in oversaturated areas.

Niche Marketing. Using the power of the Internet to define small, interest-focused groups who are hungry for information, and many are feeling lost in the plethora of online information and limited abilities to find things on their own.

That’s where YOU come in, with a plan for establishing close relationships with interest-specific buyers.

Relationship marketing is not a one-size-fits-all approach, because it encourages focusing on selected clusters of customers. Perhaps you already have a devoted list of consumers.

One of the best tools for identifying attractive market segments is also one of the simplest: listening alertly to your clients’ comments and feedback.

When your customers make suggestions, comments, or complaints, it is critical to listen as carefully as possible, attentive to the person’s words.

An online survey can also supply further information about your customer’s demographics, the kinds of services that might interest them, and your prospective buyer’s motivation for paying for such services.

Here is a list of items for observation, when targeting your specific-interest group:

1. Size of the market — How common is the visitor’s situation (or the need for service) in their specific-interest area?

2. Obstacles to market entry — Does considerable competition already exist for your proposed product or service? If so, does your item offer some bonus value or benefit that would help to be a magnet for participants as well as retaining them?

3. Clients’ attitudes and activities — What characteristics of your visitor’s behavior might be valuable when assessing your market segment? For example, do you offer services or products that are recognized as ground-breaking or outside the mainstream?

These would be more likely to tempt customers who tend to use new and innovative services.

As you explore all the possibilities and begin to communicate closely with the people who seek you out, you will find that you can fine-tune your offerings to meet the needs of your growing group of like-minded buyers.

Over time, your products will become more and more specific to your particular group.

Congratulations, as you are successfully growing a niche market of your own making.

Your business is unique, which is exactly what your customer is looking for!

Which Targeted Segment Are You Marketing To? Part III

January 22, 2007 3:53 am

Lifestage — Different Ages, Different Stages

Lifestyles are becoming streamlined, customized, and individual. Lifestyle marketing becomes a fine-hued set of skills where you take a somewhat common product or service and redesign it for a niche segment.

You learn to discover original and innovative pathways to your target audience. Every age group brings on the possibilities for capturing an entire segment of the population, for marketers who study and recognize the elements of change, and how it affects products.

Lifestyle marketing models are developed to corroborate the beliefs and core values of potential clients. Consumers are time and again changing their observations, outlooks, and spending patterns.

This creates a need for considerable effort and research to keep track of these changes.

As an example, let’s take the overall group of consumers who are either retired, or approaching retirement, and consider their needs, as viewed by a marketer intent on catering to the spending abilities of the so-called Baby-Boomer age group.

More and more each day, many of the Boomers begin to think in terms of “refocusing” rather than “retiring.”

Refocusing would allow this person to give his or her employer the mental and actual “boot out the door,” leaving them free to do something they enjoy that would keep them active and alert.

This new fork in the road might even bring in some supplementary income. Rather than refocusing on just one activity (somewhat like leaving one job for another), this individual is wanting to diversify their activities.

Perhaps some charity work, perhaps running a small Internet business, or perhaps some short-term, part-time work will fit them best.

These people want to choose how much time they devote to any of their medley of choices. In this short scenario, keep a vision of the products and services that accompany the self-employed, older person.

Products might range from software tools to automobiles! And this particular group, historically, is in a financial position to make major purchases.

The savvy marketer will not actually have to engineer new products, but instead, will “innovate” around the lifestyle, and repackage or tweak existing offerings to fit the need of the Boomer.

Or, this could be applied to any targeted group.

Another factor that is setting hurdles in the lifestyle marketing equation is the inroad the Internet has created in buying patterns.

Businesses must now take into consideration the online consumer, and base their product or service on the New Age consumer’s activity and shopping habits — which can also change in a hurry!

No matter your targeted lifestyle group, one of your primary challenges will be constant research and investigation.

These are the keys to tapping into any group of consumers’ needs and wants, no matter the differing stages in life.

Your Reputation Is All You Have Online - Don’t Blow it

When all is said and done, most people create an online
business for one purpose -to make money. Some want to make
a few extra bucks, others want to make a full-time income.

But regardless of everyone’s individual goals, I think you will
agree that we all want to make additional income from our
online businesses.

In order to do this you need to sell. Whether it’s a
product, a services or just to get someone to take a
desired action - it’s all about being able to sell whatever
it is your promoting.

So needless to say that it is very important to use
powerful selling words to really convey each and every
little benefit of your product to convince your visitors to
take action.

And it is not uncommon to see popular trigger words like
“unbelievable” and “sensational” or other similar words in
most great salesletters.

There is a fine line in using hype on your sales pages and
if used responsibly it can indeed be a powerful tool that
can explode your conversion rates and skyrocket your
profits. Notice the hype I used then. :)

However there are a number of marketers who cross this
line and purposely use hype to mislead their readers. For
example:

Not so long ago a fellow colleague of mine contacted me and
asked me to check out his new website where he was
promoting a new ebook he had just created on earning an
income from selling, say, red widgets.

When I visited his site the first thing that interested me
was his sales copy The salesletter was very good in that it
targeted my emotions and promised that “everything I have
ever wanted” could be obtained just by purchasing the ebook
and implementing what I learned.

The salesletter also gave the impression that the author
owned a garage full of sports cars, luxurious mansions and
he spent most of their time on tropical holidays by the sea.

But I know this colleague personally. He is actually an
electronics salesman struggling to make ends meet and is
looking to make quick buck by flogging off a report he
complied using public domain information.

Naturally the alarm bells immediately started to go off
and needless to say that in my view his reputation has
taken a severe noise dive and I now have little trust in
him. And I’m sure others have also now got the same view.

But I can only guess how many naive visitors may have been
fooled into thinking this person was an authority on this
subject and were sucked in to parting with the money.

The sad fact is that this is not an isolated case. There
are hundreds of online marketers with low ethical standards
who are waiting to take your hard-earned money by using
hype to embellish the truth.

So the moral of this story is that if you’re selling
anything online line, your reputation and the trust of your
potential customers is EVERYTHNING. Your reputation is all
you have and if it is tarnish for whatever reason, it is
quite possible that your online business will never recover.

Whilst it is ok to use a small amount of hype to encourage
your readers to check out what it is you are promoting, you
should never mislead your visitors into thinking you are
not who you say you are, or that your earning capacity is
not what it really is.

Your reputation is all you have online - so don’t blow it!

Overdelivering Your Way to Greater Success

As an online marketer your customers do not know you. They
cannot see your face. They cannot hear your voice when you
are recommending your products, and they cannot see or feel
your emotions when you are telling them about the benefits
of your products.

The Internet is now a world game and it offers a level
playing field for anyone out there who has a computer. This
connectivity means that you have the potential to reach
every individual in the world. You are no longer limited by
normal geographical constraints. Basically anyone can be
your virtual customer!

The only problem with this new age of connectivity is that
your competitors have the very same opportunities as you
do. No longer are you only competing with your neighbours,
you’re also in competition with every marketer in your
niche around the world.

So it is extremely important that your customers have a
satisfying experience everytime they contact you or make a
purchase from you. You need to offer a high level of
service and satisfaction in order to keep them coming back
as repeat customers. A very successful method of doing this
is to overdeliver on your promises.

When every competitor of yours has access to everyone in
the market, your only way of winning the battle is to
overdeliver - again and again and again!

When you overdeliver you gain your customers trust and
position yourself as a person with their interest at heart.
In other words, you become a trusted friend and not a greed-
driven marketer looking for a quick buck.

In a nutshell, overdelivering is a simple but very
effective method of differentiating yourself from your
competitors!

So in what ways can you overdeliver to your customers?

You can start overdelivering by providing simply things
that won’t cost you a single penny, like fast and courteous
support where you answer any queries or concerns in as fast
and friendly manner as you possible can.

This may not sound much, but ask yourself…

How many times have you been turned away with
unsatisfactory answers when asking about a certain product
you purchased?

How many times have you received fantastic response to
your queries before you purchased an item, yet you had to
wait days or weeks to get a reply once you actually made
the purchase?

Compare that with the number of times you have been
provided good service, as if you’re being helped by a
personal friend - even after you bought the product.

The ratio of good experience compared to poor experiences
are just way out there proving how scarce good customer
support really is.

By providing excellent support to your customers and
providing quality responses to their queries you will gain
customers that are fiercely loyal to you because they know
you have their best interest at heart.

There’s no question that when you provide excellent
customer support you’re already ahead of most of your
competitors. But let’s take it a step further and think
what other ways can you overdeliver.

Another excellent and cost effective method is to provide
your customers an unadvertised bonus when they make a
purchase from you. People just love to receive more than
they paid for - so use this to your advantage!

For example, if someone buys a fishing reel you could
throw in a bonus fishing lure. But the secret to this
technique is not to mention the bonus as an incentive for
your visitors to purchase your product on your sales page.

You can offer other bonuses on your sales page if you
like, but you should never mention the bonus you’re going
to use as the surprise element. This way when they receive
your extra bonus it will be a total surprise and it will
have the potential to build great trust with your customers.

Another method is to build a long-lasting relationship
with your customers.

If a customer buys regularly from you, it’s a good idea to
send greeting cards on their birthday or on special
holidays or events. Your customer will again remember you
as a friend, and not as a business associate. And due to
the warm relationship you have built with them they will
remember you above your competitors when they are again in
the buying mood.

So, start developing your strategy to begin overdelivering
to your customers today to achieve greater success!

How to Keep Your Visitors Coming Back for More

In today’s online environment where content is king you
have to continually provide fresh unique website content
that is relevant to your topic in order to achieve any
reasonable search engine ranking. This is where blogging
can form an important strategy in your overall marketing.

Including a blog as part of your site structure has proven
to be a very successful strategy as it allows you to
provide fresh unique content on a regular basis to act as
seach engine fodder for the spiders. Plus it gives your
visitors a reason to keep coming back to your site to see
what new content about their niche subject has been added.

However, you need to ensure that the information your
provide is both informative and useful to your readers,
otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of the exercise.

So with this in mind, today we’re going to discuss the
type of content that is most suitable for your blog in
order to make it profitable and to keep your visitors
coming back for more - day after day after day!

First off, you need to understand that there is no fixed
framework that your blog should follow. This is a personal
choice and therefore you can write about whatever it is
you’re interested in.

However, the difference between a successful blog and a
blog that bombs out big time is the style in which your
content is written. For instance, would you prefer to read
a precise on quantum physics or the latest fishing magazine?

More than likely you would prefer to read the fishing
magazine because it appeals to your interest or because it
is far less mind-numbing than a boring lecture on quantum
physics. (Sorry if you’re a science geek ;))

The point I’m trying to make is that most people don’t
like to read anything that is too “heavy”, so you need to
write in a style that is “light” yet informative.

You see, when your visitors reach your blog they are not
only looking for information - they are also looking for
information they can obtain easily and in a relaxed manner.

So to attract more visitors, as well as to keep your site
sticky to entice your visitors to keep coming back for
more, it is very important to add a human touch to your
blog posts.

This can be done by simply imagining you’re talking about
a certain topic one-on-one with your personal friend and to
include a light-hearted sense of humor in your writings.
So don’t be afraid to add funny comments in your articles
where they are appropriate. :-)

Another important key point is to avoid addressing your
reader in the third party, ie you should not write as if
you’re preparing a speech to a crowded room.

You need to write as if you’re having a face-to-face
conversation with a friend. This will make your visitor feel as
if they are actually part of the conversation, rather than
reading a robotic comment from a person who is trying to
sell them something.

Besides that, it is also very useful to establish your own
personality through your comments. Human beings are very
curious creatures, so naturally your visitors would want to
know as much about you as the information you’re offering
them.

Just being yourself, rather than trying to be too official,
can make a huge difference as it can make you stand out
from your competitors. This is a lot like creating your own
brand name, where people immediately think about you when
they need to find out information about their topic - just like
how people could immediately think about Coke when they are
thirsty or Nike for sportswear.

So in summary, only ever provide unique fresh content on
your blog, structure your comments in a casual manner as if
you were talking to a friend and write in a face-to-face
style to establish your own personality on your blog.

Doing this will not only get the spiders interested in your blog,
it will also entice your visitors to keep coming back to your site
to read the latest news or information on your chosen topic.

Getting Additional Revenue Through Affiliate Programs In The Internet

January 17, 2007 5:08 pm

If you are one of those people who are Internet savvy and are keen on getting more income by just affiliating with commercial websites and referring people to them, then affiliate programs might just be for you.

Affiliate programs work such that you are given a commission when you are able to send individuals to sign up, avail of a service or buy something with your associated website.

There are three basic types of affiliate programs found in the Web. These are:

1. Per-Click Affiliation Program - From the term itself, the payment you will receive will depend on the number of clicks that are generated in your website. The typical payment for such program ranges from US $.01-.30. This is the lowest among affiliate programs because “clicking” can be generated easily.

2. Per-Lead Affiliation Program - The payment usually come from “sign-ups” that your website generated. If users enter their e-mail addresses, phone numbers and other information, you will be compensated. Since generating sign ups are more difficult than clicks, the range of payment is from US $.10-5.

3. Per-Sale Program - This is considered as the most popular among all affiliate programs. This is also called “commission” program. In here, you will be paid on the sales that were generated from your ezine or website. Commission percentage from sales usually ranges from 5-15% and could even reach 40% depending on your agreement and the type of product that was sold.

The following are some things you need to consider if you want to be in the affiliate revenue business:

- Determine your target market before your product. This way, you won’t have any difficulties coming up with your promotion strategies later on.

- The next step is to concentrate on a topic for your website that you are strongly interested in. It is better to concentrate on a small area then work around it. After doing this, select affiliate programs that are closely related to your theme and link them.

- If you are serious in generating more income in lesser time, find out which are hot in the market at the present time. Try to become adept and well informed in one of these and make sure that you link it with affiliate programs that suit the theme/topic.

- Try to also consider products that sell well and have a high demand in the Internet. Such products include bargains and coupon sites. Aside from these, information products such as white papers and digital devices give high commissions and good profit margins.

According to an Ernst & Young study computer related gadgets, gears and devices are the most bought items in the market with 40%, followed by books at 20%; travel is 3rd with 16% followed by clothing at 10%; music has a share of 6% and gifts and investment have 4% each.

- Get your own domain name for your website which is unique and memorable. A domain name gives an impression that you are a serious professional. GoDaddy.com $1.99 Domain Names.

- Try to create newsletters you can distribute around in the Internet which will remind people of your website’s presence.

- Make sure you offer good, if not, the best products and services. Remember that the products or services you promote will affect your reputation.

- Try to look for affiliate programs that will pay you generous, if not decent, commissions.

- Install programs that can help you track your promotions. These should provide you real time information in determining which working program you should concentrate on more.

- Sign up with companies that offer lifetime commissions and be wary of the conditions and stipulations that are stated in contracts.

- Avoid overcrowding your website with promo banners and links and make sure that the affiliate programs you placed share a common theme with the site. Visitors will be turned off when they see a sea of banners and links in the site. Don’t lose your site’s perspective.

- Avoid affiliating with sites where information about the owner or company is not shown.

- Research on companies before signing up with them for affiliate programs. Ask for references and contact them.

Should you be interested in affiliate programs, you can check out sites such as ClickBank, LinkShare and Commission Junction. Visit sites such as refer-it.com and associateprograms.com for directory listings and reviews.

Good luck on your Web business endeavor!

Affiliate Revenue: How To Increase It By Identifying Your Faults

January 14, 2007 4:57 pm

As Sir Isaac Newton, the father of Newtonian physics, tells us in his third law of motion, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”.

Little did Newton know that his third law would also apply to computers and marketing in the 21st century. That is, “For every action your computer performs correctly, it will mess up something else”.

This also applies to the concept of affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is one of those viable means of boosting business productivity online. It can be beneficial in terms of sales commissions based on the number of sites that got connected to your link.

In most cases, you earning potential as an affiliate of a program is entirely dependent on the performance of your links. But this may also point on the nature of the affiliate program you are connected with.

Consequently, as these primary elements may affect the revenue of your affiliate program, there may be other factors that curb any increase on your affiliate revenues.

So, it’s a must to detect these problems as early as possible so as to increase your revenues. Here are some questions that you need to answer so as to assess the reasons that affect your affiliate revenue:

1. Do you hang out in the discussion forums and post some comments or queries?

If your answer is no, chances are, you’re losing more than you could imagine.

Discussion forums are great places where you can increase your link’s exposure. In doing so, you are increasing the potential of your market to be widely disseminated.

2. Do you opt for SEO?

If you think that SEO or search engine optimization does not play a vital role in increasing your affiliate revenue, you are not taking care of your business.

SEO do wonders in your site by increasing the traffic through keyword optimization. These keywords are the so-called search phrases being used by researches whenever they’re looking for some information in the Internet.

3. Do you engage yourself with an Online Network Marketing Program?

If not, then believe you’re on the losing end.

In most cases, online marketers use ad tracker or automatic responder services that incorporate in them the so-called residual program. Through this program, an online marketer is able to reap residual income from those listings that you have when promoting automatic responder or ad tracker.

If you don’t have them, you’re losing more revenue. It’s because these services that compensates the residual income. If you don’t have them, then you’re exhausting your affiliate revenue.

4. Do you have a list?

If you don’t have an automatic responder, chances are, you don’t have a list either. And that would be a double downside on your affiliate revenue.

Remember that it’s your list that you earns you money. If you don’t have a list of people to whom you get your revenues from, you’re really deflating your revenue potential. That’s why your list and your automatic responder work hand-in-hand in increasing your affiliate revenues or commissions.

5. Do you rely on the display of your site?

If you answered yes again, then you should know that it’s one of the reasons why you’re not gaining any increase on your affiliate revenue.

Graphics can be really flashy and may catch your reader’s eye. However, in the world of online and affiliate marketing, displays do no more than just looking well. So, it’s better that you study your site as well, analyze on the things that need more polishing, and contemplate on the content that needs to be included.

Readers might even be disappointed that after they’ve linked to your site, they realize that their effort was just useless.

6. Do you post articles on the online directory for articles?

If you don’t do this, then it’s another fault that you have there.

Posting articles is also one way of exposing your link and your site. More often than not, satisfied readers will respond to your invitation. Just be sure that what you’ve written is good enough to increase the reputation of your site.

So, now that you know what triggers the increase of your affiliate revenues and what initiates the fall of your potential income, the next best thing you have to do is to start all over again.

That is, provide yourself with the things that you’ll need in boosting your affiliate revenue.

The 60 Second Weekly Tip
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

A Good Reason to Start Your Own Online Newsletter

Publishing your own periodical newsletter can be one of
the most profitable businesses you can do online without
incurring a high cost.

If you are considering starting your very own newsletter
or need to reaffirm your believe about the commonly uttered
mantra “the money is in the list”, then here is an
undisputed fact that may just surprise you…

…the truth is that owning a mailing list is more important
than owning your own the product.

Why is that?

Quite simply, if you do not own a mailing list then you do
NOT own a business. Since businesses, regardless of any
kind, involve people and your prospects are none other than
people themselves who are your potential customers.

And it’s common knowledge that people are more likely to
purchase something from a person the know and trust, than
from a complete strange they know nothing about.

So it’s no surprise to learn that the more times you
contact your readers with relevant information about their
own wants and needs, the greater the chance of building a
relationship with them.

In doing this, it is then much more likely that you will
gain the trust of your readers and when you send them an
email endorsing various products the more likely it is that
you will make a sale.

Not only this, but if you would frequent forums often you
will be well aware that product owners often want to co-
operate with mailing list owners who have a list of
prospects they want to create joint venture opportunities.

While some product owners offer attractive incentives and
commissions to mailing list owners, the point I want to
drive home is that product owners need the mailing list
owner more than the other way round.

And mailing list owners are much rarer than product
owners, since products (even great ones) are created almost
everyday and great mailing list owners don’t come by on the
same frequency.

Once you start to build your own mailing list and begin to
build a reputation online, you will find yourself flooded
being with heaps of offers from other list owners inviting
you to partner with them to promote their products or
services.

Do You Have A Linking Strategy?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be the difference
between a small, barely profitable or visible website and a
traffic magnet website. There are a lot of ways, both good
and bad, to influence the search engines. Some search
engines react to certain strategies better than others.
Some even have conflicting strategies that they react to.

To document all of these things would require a significant
number of pages and research that goes beyond the scope of
this article.

However, there are a number of things that can be
documented that will work for most if not all search engines.
And let’s face it; there are really only 3 that make a difference
between a successful and an unsuccessful SEO strategy.
They are the big three: Google, Yahoo and MSN. These three
search engines in any given month are responsible for over
90% of all Internet searches.

So, what is this article about? It’s about what you can do
as a website owner that will influence the search engines
using commonly accepted practices of linking to other
websites (outbound) and getting website links (inbound)
back to you.

There are basically 4 strategies that a website owner
usually will employ to increase their website value in the
eyes of the search engine.

They are reciprocal linking, one-way linking, multi-site
linking and directory linking. A website owner should not
think that using just a single strategy is the right answer
- sure it will help your SEO but it won’t be the Best answer.
The Best answer is to employ all 4 techniques and to do it
naturally.

Each of the four linking strategies has specific descriptions
that can be summed up as:

1. Reciprocal Linking = Site A links to Site B, Site B
links back to Site A

2. One-Way Linking = Site B links to Site A

3. Multi-Site Linking = Site A links to Site B, Site B
links to Site C, Site C links to Site D, and Site D
links back to Site A. Could be 3..N number of sites
involved.

4. Directory Linking = Site Directory A links to Site A

That seems simple enough but it takes time and effort to
perform all 4 strategies and most website owners aren’t
willing to spend the time or don’t have the time to spend
on it. As a website owner, SEO needs to be one of the
highest priority tasks that you need to address, just after
Order Processing and Fulfillment and Customer Service.

Without free traffic from the search engines, other
traffic generation strategies that usually require payment
must be engaged.

Now doing the 4 strategies above is great, but it gets
even harder because you have to do it in a way that doesn’t
trigger the search engines to enforce a penalty upon your
website. No one except the search engine engineers know all
of the exact penalties but we have some good theories for
some of them.

The first is the rate at which links are created. There is
a certain threshold for creating links that is too fast.
It’s possible that the threshold is a sliding scale and is
related to the age of the website according to the engine.

For example, a young low-traffic website should not
normally be getting 1000 links a month whereas an older
website that gets a lot of traffic could be OK to get 1000
links a month. As you progress in your linking strategies
make sure you keep this in mind, especially if you are
thinking about buying links.

The second is that having a link to every site that links
to you will likely reduce the value of the links. In other
words, if all you ever get is Reciprocal Linking, you will
likely move up the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Page’s)
but you won’t reach your sites full potential. Having a
mixture of all 4 strategies will appear more natural to the
engines.

The third is having all inbound links to your site on
“linking” pages will make those links less valuable than
having a natural link on a contextually relative page for a
percentage of the inbound links. The higher you can drive
this context percentage, the better your website will rank.

These types of links are often some of the most difficult
links to generate an exchange for because it requires more
time and effort for both website owners.

The fourth is to have links inbound from all different
ranking sites. If all you have linking to you is page rank
6 and 7 sites then you are likely to be sending the message
that you purchased your links and that is not natural to
the engines. Some would argue that purchasing links for
driving traffic is just fine and it is.

However, you should not expect the search engines to give
those inbound links very much weight when calculating your
SERP positions. It is significantly more natural for you to
have a large number of rank 1 and 2 inbound links and a
decreasing number of inbound links as you move up the page
rank scale (0 - 10).

The fifth is to have the text of you inbound links varied.
It isn’t natural to have every website that links to you to
have the same text on the link description.

The natural tendency would be to have a certain percent be
the sites name, but after that it should be a wide variety
of description. Your link text description is a key factor
for how your site/page will rank, so make sure that you
keep that in mind as you specify your preferred link text
description on your website.

Finally, it would be best for a good percentage of your
inbound links to appear within the text of a page that
appears natural for the reader of that site. And for those
links to not all point back to the home page of your
website. It’s most natural for a good high quality link to
appear in the text of a page and have it point internally
within your site.

So, when you begin or continue your SEO activities keep
all of these things in mind and don’t be impatient.
Impatience could incur penalties or worse. Your website
could end up in the “sandbox”.

It is rumored and becoming more concrete that Google
supposedly uses a sandbox that questionable sites are put
in until they have aged to a point that Google no longer
feels that they are being manipulated. Many of the search
engines use similar protection schemes to eliminate spam
sites and manipulation sites to keep their SERP’s from
being cluttered.

How to Write Articles Using Proven Successful Models

Writing articles is a fantastic way to brand yourself, plus
it’s a great method of sending traffic to your chosen
website.

But you need to understand that articles aren’t ads.
Writing an article that is full of ads promoting your
product simply doesn’t cut it. It needs to contain quality
content that is both informative and entertaining.

An article’s true purpose is not to sell product., it is
to promote your website and position you as either an
expert or a person to be trusted within your niche market
(preferably both).

No matter what your Internet business is, you are in a
crowded field. There are dozens, even hundreds, of other
websites offering products or services similar to yours.
Providing knowledge in the form of articles helps people
realize that you know what you’re talking about, and gives
them good reasons to buy from you rather than your
competitors.

So remember - an article is not an advertisement.

With this in mind, you may now be wondering exactly what
it is you should be writing articles about.

Here’s the good news - articles are flexible. You can
write an article on just about any topic, as long as you
can relate it in some way to your website and your products
or services.

Following are just a few examples of the many forms an
article can take.

- How-to:

Perhaps the most popular type of article is one that
explains how to do something, get something, use something
or find something.

For example, if you’re running an Internet business you
could probably write an article giving people advice on how
to start a small business from home. Think about your area
of specialty and list some things you can do that most
people might not know, but would like to learn.

- Opinion:

Whatever industry or type of business you work in, there
are always breaking developments, new products, or business
advances. You can write an article focusing on an emerging
aspect of your business, and offer your opinion on how it
will affect the industry.

- Personal/inspirational story:

Almost everyone has a compelling reason they went into
business for themselves. Consider writing an article or
series of articles about why you chose the path you did and
what problems or successes you had on your journey.

You can make it humorous, or inspirational, or both. Human
interest stories are a popular article format.

- Book excerpt or condensation:

If you’re selling a book, ebook or ecourse you’re in luck,
you have articles built in to your product. You can offer
your website visitors a free sample chapter, or write a
condensed article based on one of the ideas in your book.

Book excerpts also make great articles and if you use PDF
format to post an excerpt it can easily be passed around
via email.

- Top ten lists:

Many engaging articles are centered around a list concept.
And you don’t have to use the number ten; any number will
do. A couple of good examples are “The Seven Habits of
Highly Successful People” or “The Five People You Meet in
Heaven.”

Yes these are books, but the concept for articles is the
same. Fore example, if your website is geared for business
people, you might write an article about the six features
you need in a good PDA or SmartPhone.

You can write articles on any subject to get people
interested in finding out what else you have to say. But
always remember…

…people read articles to be entertained, get ideas or
learn something they didn’t know before, so stay away from
making your articles sound like advertisements!

Blogging-RSS: Syndication Made Easy

January 8, 2007 2:48 pm

As the web market continues to grow and the Internet becoming one of the most popular commodity, the world of blogging became a new place for businessmen and entrepreneurs who wanted to partake with the success of worldwide information dissemination.

However, despite its affordability and dependability, you still need the help of a certain technology that works like an email that gathers and distributes the gist of the matter a writer wishes to obtain.

This technology is better known as Really Simple Syndication, Rich Site Summary, or simply “RSS”. RSS is the one responsible for making your weblog known.

Through the process of syndication, it allocates your content so as to be used on a wider connection.

Through the RSS technology, you can inevitably update and promote your blog site with an innovative, contemporary content without having to write all over again.

Don’t know how to do it? Here’s how:

1. Come up with something to publish.

Starting a blog without an idea what to write about is like going for a ride without knowing where to go.

It would be easier for you to come up with things that you are proficient with. Things that interest you most will make blogging easier for you.

2. Make a blog.

Blogs are the new types of websites these days that can be easily updated without having to use additional technical support. It is, basically, one kind of publication because people can get their thoughts and ideas published by making blogs in the Internet.

Today, there are numerous sites that provide free blogsites to budding writers or “bloggers”. Some of the common sites that offer free blogs are blogger.com, motime.com, and tblog.com.

If you’ve finally decided where to set up your blog, visit the site and follow the simple step-by-step procedure on how to set up your blog.

3. Take note of your RSS feed url.

The RSS feed url will serve as your link. You need to provide this to your subscribers so that they’ll know that your site exists. It’s also the same link that you’ll need in promoting your site on the Web.

Normally, you can get your RSS feed URL by clicking a button in the control panel of your blogsite. If you’ve chosen to make a blog in blogger.com, the RSS feed URL can be found in the settings of their control panel.

The “Site Feed’ button will give you your respective RSS feed URL.

4. Test your RSS feed.

You can do this by opening and running a browser. With a Mozilla Firefox browser, you can do this by simply right clicking the “live bookmark” button found at the task bar. Then, enter your RSS URL and some of the information needed.

To test your RSS feed, simply right click again on the “live bookmark” and put your RSS feed url. If you’re directed to your blogsite, it means that you’ve successfully created your blog and your RSS feed url.

5. Promote your site.

If everything’s working perfectly well, then it’s high time you promote your site. You can simply do this by visiting your email client’s website. For example, if you have a yahoo id, log in to MyYahoo.com. Then, provide your RSS feed url by clicking the “add content” button.

You can also publish your newsletter in your blog. Just be sure to provide your RSS feeds on websites that you think can render you greater exposure and promotion.

6. Syndicate your blog content with other websites or blogs through RSS.

With RSS, you don’t have to pay other websites or blogs just to get them display your RSS feed url. You don’t even have to provide them your articles one by one. All you have to do is to syndicate your content to their website by providing them your RSS feeds.

See! It’s absolutely simple!

Now, all you have to do is to create out-of-the-ordinary blogs so as to entice your readers to subscribe to your RSS feeds.

There may be no nippy fixes into promoting your site because you really have to work hard for it, but in the end you’ll get certainly what you deserve.

As they say, you will reap what you sow, that is, the more you exert effort in promoting your site and making it exquisitely practical, the more chances of getting remarkable achievements.
