Tips on Creating a Compelling Salesletter

Many people have asked what’s the secret to writing a
compelling sales letter that sells. Every time you
communicate with your customers or prospects should have a
clear purpose - and your sales letter is no different.

Now there’s simply not enough space to go into detail
about every aspect of your sales letter, but below is a
brief summary of some of the major points you need to
address.

Before sitting down to write a sales letter make sure you
are clear about the product or service you are offering,
the price, any bonus offers, whether there is a time limit,
etc.

Think from the point of view of the customer. What will
make them interested in your product or service?

Do not make the letter about you or your company. You will
not make sales by telling customers about the latest events
in your office or the history of your company’s expansion.
The letter should be about the customer, their problems,
and how you can solve them.

Headlines are the most important part of a sales letter.
So it’s important that you try to come up with at least
twenty different headlines and then select the best.

Generally headlines should be longer than 3 or 4 words,
but less than 17 words. Take a look at newspaper headlines
and other sales headlines for inspiration. Be specific. If
you have a figure of 37% then use it, do not say ‘over
30%’. Do not exaggerate in your headline to get attention.
If it cannot be believed readers will not bother to look
further.

When you first begin writing the main body of the letter
do not edit it as you write. Just write what you think is
the main, important message and do not stop to correct
spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. If necessary stare
determinedly at the keyboard as you write, or better still
turn the monitor off on your PC.

The reason for this is that if you continually stop to
make corrections the words will not flow and the message
may become confused. Don’t get me wrong, it’s vitally
important to make sure that your final copy contains no
spelling mistakes. But this should be done once your first
draft is completed.

Avoid long sentences and paragraphs in your sales letter.
You want to make the letter as easy to read as possible and
the most effective way to do this to “trick the eye” by
creating whitespace.

You can do this by breaking the letter up into subheadings
that refer to the contents of the next section. Your
subheadings should give enough information for someone
skimming down the page to understand your offer.

Once you feel your letter is complete put it aside for a
while before reading through it again. You may spot
mistakes or areas of confusion that you didn’t initially
notice.

If you cannot leave it for a period of time give it to
someone else to read. Ask them to skim through it to see if
they get the main points of the message. If they do they
can then read each sentence and give you their impression
of the letter.

Now as I mentioned at the start, this is only a very brief
summary on the steps you need to follow to create a sales
letter. While it’s by no means a full-blown explanation, it
gives you a place to start.

How to Find a Low Hanging Niche Markets

The term ‘niche marketing’ means selling a specific
product to a specific type of buyer.

However, comparing niche marketing and an Internet
marketing niche is equivalent to comparing apples with
oranges. Apples and oranges are both fruit. Niche marketing
and an Internet Marketing niche are both forms of Internet
marketing but as different as apples are from oranges.

A niche market allows you to promote your own niche
product or that of a niche affiliate product. There is a
niche market for anything and everything you can imagine.
All it takes to break into a niche market is a good idea, a
good product created by you or someone else that will
appeal to certain people, some advertising and the desire
to succeed.

The Internet marketing niche, on the other hand, means
that you will be promoting your own Internet marketing
product. This is a very crowded field of endeavor and
really difficult to break into. It’s a world filled with
gurus and wise men who have been playing and winning the
game for a long time.

This doesn’t mean that it is impossible to cash in on the
Internet marketing niche because, of course, you can. It is
a world still built on demand and that means that if you
have a product that can compete and if you have the
willingness to play hard-ball with the big boys then you
can succeed at the Internet marketing niche game.

Deciding on what product or service you will promote in a
niche market should be based on a simple principle. There
should be a demand for your product or service. You want to
offer something that people actually need, something that
will make their lives better, make them feel better
physically, make them look better, or help them solve a
problem.

Once you have chosen a product or service to market,
researching to find the right niche for your product or
service is the next most important part of beginning a
niche marketing program.

The things that you need to know are where they spend
their time online, and what makes them tick from a personal
and business point of view.

The next thing you need to learn as you research your
online niche market is what you can reasonable charge for
your product or service.

The best and most effective was to do this is to visit
sites that advertise products or services similar to what
you have chosen to sell. It should be easy to see if they
are giving away a service or selling the product at a price
far lower than you would have to charge.

If you can determine that there are people out there who
are willing to spend money to buy what you are selling and
you can identify those people then you have a niche
marketing product or service that can make money on the
Internet.

Sometimes it takes reframing your product or service to
make it more attractive, better or just different than what
others are selling it for.

But when all is said and done, research is the key to
successful niche marketing. The more research you do to
ensure your chosen niche is viable, the greater the chance
you will be successful.

Crafting Your Eye Catching Ad

Off-line advertising is a tremendous way to increase
traffic to your site. This is a method that is extremely
under utilized by online markets that can have far
reaching positive impacts on your success.

So today you are going to learn the first step in the
process of creating loads of profits from advertising your
website in newspapers.

What is this first step you might ask?

An effective, curiosity provoking advertisement that gets
people reading the paper to take action and visit your
website.

To clarify, we are going to be using short, concise
classified advertisements to generate leads. Yes, you will
learn about using space advertising and longer ads in a
later section but this is where you need to start.

Don’t worry, this isn’t something that requires you learn
a bunch of copywriting tactics or complicated writing
tricks. You just need to put yourself in the place of your
prospect.

Let’s jump into this with an example.

Let’s say that you sell a book on how to have more fun
boating while spending less money and you want to use the
newspaper to get more people to your website.

You want to give a short and enticing headline that peaks
enough interest to get people to your website, nothing more.

Instead of giving you a long-winded explanation or course
on copywriting, I’ll give you a handful of examples you can
steal and model to fit your product or service.

Example #1

Learn Why I Have A Blast Boating Every Weekend And You
Don’t! Free Newsletter.

Example #2

Money. Free Report.
http://www.HaveMoreFunBoating.com

Example #3

Do You Enjoy Boating? Learn How To Do It More Often &
Have A Blast Doing It At This Free Website…
http://www.HaveMoreFunBoating.com

As you can see from the examples above, it doesn’t need to
be some long winded advertisement. Just something short,
simple and crafted to generate some curiosity is all you
need.

How to Use Forums to Create Profitable Niche Products

Niche marketing at its best helps to solve real problems
that real people face and live with everyday. If you can
come up with a product or service in a niche market that
will help people solve their problems - and they are
willing to pay for it - then you that basis for a very
profitable online niche business.

The things that people view as ‘problems’ can encompass
everything from interior decorating to chronic insomnia,
and more often than not, people are searching for solutions
to their problems.

All you need to do is to identify these problems and
provide a solution. But how can you do this?

A good way to find out what people consider a problem is
to visit online forums relating to your chosen niche.
People talk about anything and everything online as it
gives them anonymity, so forums give them the avenue to
express their concerns.

By visiting forums and taking note of what people are most
concerned about you can search the Internet for information
that will help them solve these problems.

Once you have gather information, write articles about
your topic - or have written for you. In this way you can
build a content-rich website for niche marketing that helps
to provide solutions to this problem.

Naturally you would monetize the pages on your site, as
well as include an optin box to build your list so that you
can sell them on the backend to multiply your profits.

An additional way to use forums to help you build a niche
market website is to join a forum, and post a question
about a popular topic that is being discussed. This way you
may receive many more responses regarding your topic and
you could use these to create an ebook or report on this
subject.

The fact is that many people will buy an ebook that is
filled with information they find useful, even if they
could actually gather for themselves as it saves them time -
and to most people their time is very valuable.

Where to Find Fresh Content for Your Blog

It’s a basic law of online marketing - if you have a blog
it needs to be regularly updated to maintain a high level
of readership. If you don’t provide informative content on
a regular basis, you simply won’t get any return visitors -
and no visitors equals no profits!

So it’s no secret that you need to continually find fresh
topics to write about, and in this article we’re going to
discuss how to do just that.

The very first option that you should write about is a
topic that you feel passionate and interested in. Remember,
you’ve chosen to create a blog or website so that you can
earn an online income so you have an opportunity to escape
your mundane job…

…so forcing yourself to write about something that you
have little or no interest in could be as torturous as your
mundane job. So the key is to create a blog about a niche
topic you either have some experience with or have some
level of interest.

The other reason you need to write about something you’re
passionate about is because your feelings and emotion shows
through your writings. If you feel indifferent to a certain
subject but still write about it just for the sake of it,
your readers will notice…

… and forcing yourself to write about a subject will not
establish a welcoming style to your readers!

Once you have chosen your main theme, start posting to
your blog and make it a habit to post at least once every
day, even if it’s only a comment on the newspaper article
you read today.

Think of yourself as a gigantic train. It takes a lot of
effort to get you moving. First, you might just budge an
inch, and later trudge slowly on until you finally reach
your full speed. Then, once you get going, it’s almost
impossible to stop.

However, no matter how well you know your topic, your
brain is bound to get exhausted over some time, so here are
some proven methods to help you brainstorm content for your
blog:

1. The very best way to brainstorm is to see what other
bloggers have to say about stuff happening in your niche -
and the best way to find related blogs is to search
http://blogsearch.google.com/ or www.technorati.com.

When you research other blogs you can gather more
knowledge and information on your subject. You can then
make reference and comment on what others have to say on
your own blog!

2. Once you’ve established contacts with other bloggers in
your field, you’ll have quite a continuous “conversation”
happening on your blog, so you’ll not need to actively
search for more content to write about.

A great place to find additional information is to search
for news articles related to your niche in the local
newspaper or via any of the many online article directories.

3. You can also have contact with people with the same
interest as you in your particular niche you choose, so you
will eventually build up a bank of questions and answers
and interesting discussions to write about in your blog.

To do this, join forums related to your niche, but don’t
join every forum there is out there. Stick with one or two
of the most focused and most popular in your niche. This
will also come in handy much later in gaining traffic and
generating profits.

4. Get automation tools do all the work. Today it is possible
to automate and optimize your blog… practically hands free!

Above all, you must keep up your momentum of posting at
least once per day (or more if you have a lot of content to
write about) to entice your readers to keep coming back
each day to see what is new.

Doing this will also attract the attention of the search
engines as they will recognize that you are updating your
blog with fresh content everyday - and they just LOVE this.

So the added bonus is that your blog will get spidered on
a more frequent basis and when this happens you have a
higher chance of getting extra traffic from the search
engine listings.

5 Ways That Articles Can Grow Your Business

In today’s highly competitive online community, the
importance of attracting highly targeted traffic to your
website cannot be overemphasized. Driving visitors to your
site
can be your only means of survival, especially in the
cutthroat world of online marketing.

However, getting a high search engine ranking can be very
difficult. Fortunately there is an almost unlimited number
of strategies you can use to drive traffic to your site.

These strategies include anything from ezine advertising
to affiliate marketing, however the downside is that most
of these techniques come at a cost. Nevertheless, there are
ways to promote your website and increase your traffic
without spending anything.

Writing articles is without question one of the most
effective web site promotion strategies you can use and I
strongly suggest you seriously consider using article as
part of your overall marketing plan.

Here are the top seven ways in which writing articles can
help improve your web traffic and grow your profits:

1. More Reach

You can post your articles on your website or you can
submit them to other sites such as ezines directories to
leverage your reach. Submitting your articles to these
sites gives exposure not only to your ideas but also to
your website.

You can also submit your articles to popular ezines and
take advantage of their popularity. Other sites who find
your article relevant may also link back to you. Thus you
increase your link popularity, which is one of the most
important strategies in the Internet world.

Remember that most people are looking for information
online and by filling this need with your article you may
reap the benefit of more exposure and higher web traffic.

2. Effective No-Cost Advertising

Submitting your articles and allow other site owners to
publish your work presents an opportunity to advertise your
website without paying exorbitant fees.

Although you should avoid marketing language in your
articles and make it informative and useful to your
readers, you can always include your site’s link in the
resource box. In addition, by making your article relevant
and helpful to your readers, you are branding yourself as
an expert in your niche, which could ultimately lead to a
visit and hopefully a purchase.

Good quality content in an article is far better and more
effective than a few lines of ad space as you have a very
special opportunity to pre-sell your product or service to
your prospective customer.

3. Higher Search Engine Rankings

It’s no secret that search engines love fresh unique
content. If this content is on your site and it’s highly
relevant to the topic of your niche, then the search
engines will reward you with a higher ranking.

So while your main aim is to make your article as
informative as you can for your readers, you should also
optimize it so that it acts as spider food for the search
engines.

You can do this by including long-tailed keywords in your
article and by fully utilizing all your on-page techniques
to attract the search engine spiders.

Making your article keyword rich you can greatly improve
the search engine ranking of your site. Remember that
keyword density is one of the most important factors that
search engines use when determining the search engine
ranking of site.

However, you should always provide relevant, useful and
pertinent information. Avoid the temptation of overusing
keywords just to gain a high ranking as this may turn off
most web surfers. A good keyword density is 5%-7%.

Relevance and quality is still the most important things
to consider when writing articles and it will be doubly
useful to your site if you make your articles attractive
for the spiders.

Never forget that content that is optimized for the search
engines is a very effective strategy to gaining higher
rankings - so use it to your greatest benefit whenever you
can!

4. Increases Your Link Popularity

Link popularity is one of the factors used by search
engines in determining search engine rankings. In simple
terms, link popularity is measured by the number of pages
linking back to your site and articles are a key method of
getting one-way links to your site.

But instead of looking for other sites who would want to
establish reciprocal links with you, simply submit your
article to other sites. When websites pick up and publish
your article, you automatically get a link partner.

The key is to make your article especially useful and
appealing, so that more websites will be encouraged to
publish it.

5. Build Your Reputation and Credibility

By writing excellent, original and relevant articles you
not only give your site exposure, you are also creating a
good impression on your prospects. Encourage more people to
visit your site and do business with you by establishing an
impressive reputation through your articles. Be seen as an
expert in the field and your will ultimately gain more
customers eager to do business with you.

In this highly competitive world, excellent credibility
and trust may be the only things you need to attract new
customers or make loyal patrons out of your existing
customers. Original, relevant, useful and pertinent
articles are important tools you should utilize to improve
and grow your business.

Why Pre-selling Generates More Sales

In simple terms, pre-selling is the work you should start
doing before you release and sell your product - naturally
that’s why it’s called pre-selling.

You need to build up anticipation and to convince your
potential customers that your product or service has great
benefits that would solve the problems they may be facing
so that they are in the buying mood before they reach your
product site.

Pre-selling is not only about selling your product, it’s
also about selling yourself to your readers and customers.

When you sell yourself to the customer, you are making
your customers think “okay, this guy is not one of those
greedy marketers. He’s actually here to help me.” so that
they will let their guard down and listen to your sales
pitch.

Pre-selling is also the art of building up anticipation.

For instance - if a friend told you his chronic headache
has been solved overnight by “some new medicine” but did
not mention what it really was, would that leave you
wondering what the medicine really is? Particularly if you
suffer from chronic headache yourself!

That’s why by mentioning a benefit that has the power to
solve your prospects’ problems or able to satisfy their
needs - without revealing what the solution is - will get
your prospects dying to hear what you have to say next as
you reveal slightly more about the solution each time.

When you finally uncover the whole ‘box and dice’, your
prospects will be crawling all over your website looking
for the buy button!

However, pre-selling is not just about unveiling your
product bit by bit. In fact, that is only one of the
various ways one can pre-sell.

For example, you might run a weekly newsletter on acne
problems and coincidentally you have just written this
great ebook called “10 Ways to Solve Acne Woes Once and
For All”.

In your newsletter, you can pre-sell by including a
snippet or two from your ebook and mention that it as a
viable solution to acne problems. If people get good advice
from your newsletter, they will perceive you as an expert
on acne problems and naturally will be curious to find out
the ways you can teach them to solve their problems.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to giving value
to people before you ask people to buy something from you.
If you can help people to solve their problems and earn
their trust, they will more often than not be very willing
to buy products from you.

A Simple Strategy for Profiting in Niche Markets

Smart marketers are earning significant part-time incomes
simply by selling ebooks or reports every week. I’m noting
talking pocket change - some are making well over $1k a
month in their spare time.

And the most interesting part is that most of these people
are far from being considered experts in relation to the
reports they are selling. In fact some have no involvement
in the topics they’re targeting. So basically anyone can do
it.

So, how are they doing this?

It’s simple really - and that’s why it works so well…

As I mentioned - you don’t need to be an expert or an
authority on any topic or subject. So this technique will
work for just about any niche market you want to target.

The strategy is to create short 5-10 page mini-reports and
then sell them via Adwords campaigns or on eBay!

Here’s what you need to do…

First off - go to sites such as Amazon, Clickbank or even
eBay! to see which books in your chosen topic are most
popular and selling well. Your aim is to create a short
ebook or report about a specific topic within these niche
markets.

That’s it. Anyone can do this!

Here’s an example…

Suppose there’s a book on the Amazon bestsellers list that
explains what you need to look for when buying a used car.
All you need to do is to write a report based on this
subject.

But here’s the most important part of this simple formula…

You’re going to do it the smart way so that you can have
your report created in as little as a few days, without
having to know a single thing about your subject.

Here’s how…

Once you’ve decided on your topic, go to your favorite
search engine and search to see if there are any private
label articles or reports available on your subject, in
this example we are targeting the buying a used car niche
market.

If you find any products or articles you can purchase them
and then use the content in any way you choose to create
your own short report. With private label rights you have
the right to alter the content in any way you choose, so
there’s no problem with copyright

For example, you could create a report that explains the
top 10 tricks and scams you need to look for when
purchasing a used car to ensure you don’t get lumbered with
a lemon. So you would search for tips on this subject and
compile them into a short report.

Then it would only be a matter of designing some graphics
and creating a simple mini-site to promote the benefits of
your report and then begin sending visitors to your site by
using Adwords or something similar.

Alternatively you could list your report on eBay and sell
it directly from there for some quick profits. If you choose
this option, just be aware that reports or ebooks on
eBay sell very cheaply so you will need to price it at
about $5 - $7 to be competitive.

If you’re just starting out and you’re a little short on
funds, an inexpensive alternative is to search article
directories for articles on your topic. Then you can modify
these articles
into your words and compile them into a
report.

But a word of warning…

If you choose to do this, DO NOT under any circumstance
copy the articles for your own purposes. This is a
violation of copyright and it is unlawful. The only purpose
of searching for articles is to get some ideas that you
can put into your own words.

This is just a very quick example of using the power of
niche marketing to generate a part-time income, but if
you’re deadly serious you could repeat this same process
over and over again to begin creating a substantial online
income.

Effective Marketing Strategies
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

A Better Strategy - SEO or PPC?

Which is the better strategy for your online business -
SEO or PPC?

The simple answer is if used correctly, both strategies
can help you build a very profitable online business. Each
technique has it’s own advantages, so you need to balance
the two to gain the maximum benefits each offer.

SEO is more of a long term strategy so you shouldn’t be
kick-starting a new business and expect an instant flow of
traffic from the search engines.

On the other hand, PPC is an excellent short term strategy
as you have the ability to laser target your visitors and
instantly drive traffic to your site - so this is a great
method that you can use until you start to see traffic
flowing in from other methods, such as SEO.

Now with SEO you don’t always have to wait months and
months before receiving traffic. With the proper niche
research and marketing you can start getting visitor within
days. Once your site is crawled regularly, you can put a
page up and have them indexed in days.

While it can take longer that other methods, SEO is
definitely not a waste of time, unless you don’t plan on
being in this game for a long time. You just need to
implement the right measures and be patient.

SEO is a tough game no matter how you look at it. You can
be at the top of the search engine results pages one month
and drop out of site the next. In fact, I’ve seen people
who have held a #1 position for their keyword for years and
suddenly disappear all together overnight.

Now this hurts at the best of times, but it’s even worse
if you place 100% of your efforts in this one area and
depend on it for your entire income. As they say,
diversification is a good thing and online marketing is no
different.

Of course SEO and PPC aren’t the only ways to market
online… some people do neither and still make a ton of
money.

There is no predicting what the search engines will do.
They will always mess with their algorithms to try to give
their users the best experience they can by providing the
most relevant results for their searches. So you need to
factor this into your marketing.

It’s not uncommon to one day have 50 keywords ranked high
and the next day they disappear. Then two months later you
will begin to see visitors from those keywords when your
keywords get re-listed again.

SEO has changed a lot in the last 12 months and will
continue to evolve in the future, so it is very risky to
rely on it for your revenue. I’ve seen it happen - huge
revenue generating websites dropping out completely and
being placed in the “sandbox” - what a bummer that has to
be!

It’s not my intention to discourage anyone from practicing
SEO. I probably made it sound impossible. It’s not. It
certainly is an incredible way to get free traffic. And any
free traffic is good traffic.

You just need to use a range of marketing methods to limit
your risk and protect the long-term sustainability of your
online business so that you can endure anything the search
engines throw at you in the future.

The 60 Second Weekly Tip
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Your Reputation Is All You Have Online - Don’t Blow it

When all is said and done, most people create an online
business for one purpose -to make money. Some want to make
a few extra bucks, others want to make a full-time income.

But regardless of everyone’s individual goals, I think you will
agree that we all want to make additional income from our
online businesses.

In order to do this you need to sell. Whether it’s a
product, a services or just to get someone to take a
desired action - it’s all about being able to sell whatever
it is your promoting.

So needless to say that it is very important to use
powerful selling words to really convey each and every
little benefit of your product to convince your visitors to
take action.

And it is not uncommon to see popular trigger words like
“unbelievable” and “sensational” or other similar words in
most great salesletters.

There is a fine line in using hype on your sales pages and
if used responsibly it can indeed be a powerful tool that
can explode your conversion rates and skyrocket your
profits. Notice the hype I used then. :)

However there are a number of marketers who cross this
line and purposely use hype to mislead their readers. For
example:

Not so long ago a fellow colleague of mine contacted me and
asked me to check out his new website where he was
promoting a new ebook he had just created on earning an
income from selling, say, red widgets.

When I visited his site the first thing that interested me
was his sales copy The salesletter was very good in that it
targeted my emotions and promised that “everything I have
ever wanted” could be obtained just by purchasing the ebook
and implementing what I learned.

The salesletter also gave the impression that the author
owned a garage full of sports cars, luxurious mansions and
he spent most of their time on tropical holidays by the sea.

But I know this colleague personally. He is actually an
electronics salesman struggling to make ends meet and is
looking to make quick buck by flogging off a report he
complied using public domain information.

Naturally the alarm bells immediately started to go off
and needless to say that in my view his reputation has
taken a severe noise dive and I now have little trust in
him. And I’m sure others have also now got the same view.

But I can only guess how many naive visitors may have been
fooled into thinking this person was an authority on this
subject and were sucked in to parting with the money.

The sad fact is that this is not an isolated case. There
are hundreds of online marketers with low ethical standards
who are waiting to take your hard-earned money by using
hype to embellish the truth.

So the moral of this story is that if you’re selling
anything online line, your reputation and the trust of your
potential customers is EVERYTHNING. Your reputation is all
you have and if it is tarnish for whatever reason, it is
quite possible that your online business will never recover.

Whilst it is ok to use a small amount of hype to encourage
your readers to check out what it is you are promoting, you
should never mislead your visitors into thinking you are
not who you say you are, or that your earning capacity is
not what it really is.

Your reputation is all you have online - so don’t blow it!

Overdelivering Your Way to Greater Success

As an online marketer your customers do not know you. They
cannot see your face. They cannot hear your voice when you
are recommending your products, and they cannot see or feel
your emotions when you are telling them about the benefits
of your products.

The Internet is now a world game and it offers a level
playing field for anyone out there who has a computer. This
connectivity means that you have the potential to reach
every individual in the world. You are no longer limited by
normal geographical constraints. Basically anyone can be
your virtual customer!

The only problem with this new age of connectivity is that
your competitors have the very same opportunities as you
do. No longer are you only competing with your neighbours,
you’re also in competition with every marketer in your
niche around the world.

So it is extremely important that your customers have a
satisfying experience everytime they contact you or make a
purchase from you. You need to offer a high level of
service and satisfaction in order to keep them coming back
as repeat customers. A very successful method of doing this
is to overdeliver on your promises.

When every competitor of yours has access to everyone in
the market, your only way of winning the battle is to
overdeliver - again and again and again!

When you overdeliver you gain your customers trust and
position yourself as a person with their interest at heart.
In other words, you become a trusted friend and not a greed-
driven marketer looking for a quick buck.

In a nutshell, overdelivering is a simple but very
effective method of differentiating yourself from your
competitors!

So in what ways can you overdeliver to your customers?

You can start overdelivering by providing simply things
that won’t cost you a single penny, like fast and courteous
support where you answer any queries or concerns in as fast
and friendly manner as you possible can.

This may not sound much, but ask yourself…

How many times have you been turned away with
unsatisfactory answers when asking about a certain product
you purchased?

How many times have you received fantastic response to
your queries before you purchased an item, yet you had to
wait days or weeks to get a reply once you actually made
the purchase?

Compare that with the number of times you have been
provided good service, as if you’re being helped by a
personal friend - even after you bought the product.

The ratio of good experience compared to poor experiences
are just way out there proving how scarce good customer
support really is.

By providing excellent support to your customers and
providing quality responses to their queries you will gain
customers that are fiercely loyal to you because they know
you have their best interest at heart.

There’s no question that when you provide excellent
customer support you’re already ahead of most of your
competitors. But let’s take it a step further and think
what other ways can you overdeliver.

Another excellent and cost effective method is to provide
your customers an unadvertised bonus when they make a
purchase from you. People just love to receive more than
they paid for - so use this to your advantage!

For example, if someone buys a fishing reel you could
throw in a bonus fishing lure. But the secret to this
technique is not to mention the bonus as an incentive for
your visitors to purchase your product on your sales page.

You can offer other bonuses on your sales page if you
like, but you should never mention the bonus you’re going
to use as the surprise element. This way when they receive
your extra bonus it will be a total surprise and it will
have the potential to build great trust with your customers.

Another method is to build a long-lasting relationship
with your customers.

If a customer buys regularly from you, it’s a good idea to
send greeting cards on their birthday or on special
holidays or events. Your customer will again remember you
as a friend, and not as a business associate. And due to
the warm relationship you have built with them they will
remember you above your competitors when they are again in
the buying mood.

So, start developing your strategy to begin overdelivering
to your customers today to achieve greater success!

How to Keep Your Visitors Coming Back for More

In today’s online environment where content is king you
have to continually provide fresh unique website content
that is relevant to your topic in order to achieve any
reasonable search engine ranking. This is where blogging
can form an important strategy in your overall marketing.

Including a blog as part of your site structure has proven
to be a very successful strategy as it allows you to
provide fresh unique content on a regular basis to act as
seach engine fodder for the spiders. Plus it gives your
visitors a reason to keep coming back to your site to see
what new content about their niche subject has been added.

However, you need to ensure that the information your
provide is both informative and useful to your readers,
otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of the exercise.

So with this in mind, today we’re going to discuss the
type of content that is most suitable for your blog in
order to make it profitable and to keep your visitors
coming back for more - day after day after day!

First off, you need to understand that there is no fixed
framework that your blog should follow. This is a personal
choice and therefore you can write about whatever it is
you’re interested in.

However, the difference between a successful blog and a
blog that bombs out big time is the style in which your
content is written. For instance, would you prefer to read
a precise on quantum physics or the latest fishing magazine?

More than likely you would prefer to read the fishing
magazine because it appeals to your interest or because it
is far less mind-numbing than a boring lecture on quantum
physics. (Sorry if you’re a science geek ;))

The point I’m trying to make is that most people don’t
like to read anything that is too “heavy”, so you need to
write in a style that is “light” yet informative.

You see, when your visitors reach your blog they are not
only looking for information - they are also looking for
information they can obtain easily and in a relaxed manner.

So to attract more visitors, as well as to keep your site
sticky to entice your visitors to keep coming back for
more, it is very important to add a human touch to your
blog posts.

This can be done by simply imagining you’re talking about
a certain topic one-on-one with your personal friend and to
include a light-hearted sense of humor in your writings.
So don’t be afraid to add funny comments in your articles
where they are appropriate. :-)

Another important key point is to avoid addressing your
reader in the third party, ie you should not write as if
you’re preparing a speech to a crowded room.

You need to write as if you’re having a face-to-face
conversation with a friend. This will make your visitor feel as
if they are actually part of the conversation, rather than
reading a robotic comment from a person who is trying to
sell them something.

Besides that, it is also very useful to establish your own
personality through your comments. Human beings are very
curious creatures, so naturally your visitors would want to
know as much about you as the information you’re offering
them.

Just being yourself, rather than trying to be too official,
can make a huge difference as it can make you stand out
from your competitors. This is a lot like creating your own
brand name, where people immediately think about you when
they need to find out information about their topic - just like
how people could immediately think about Coke when they are
thirsty or Nike for sportswear.

So in summary, only ever provide unique fresh content on
your blog, structure your comments in a casual manner as if
you were talking to a friend and write in a face-to-face
style to establish your own personality on your blog.

Doing this will not only get the spiders interested in your blog,
it will also entice your visitors to keep coming back to your site
to read the latest news or information on your chosen topic.

The 60 Second Weekly Tip
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

A Good Reason to Start Your Own Online Newsletter

Publishing your own periodical newsletter can be one of
the most profitable businesses you can do online without
incurring a high cost.

If you are considering starting your very own newsletter
or need to reaffirm your believe about the commonly uttered
mantra “the money is in the list”, then here is an
undisputed fact that may just surprise you…

…the truth is that owning a mailing list is more important
than owning your own the product.

Why is that?

Quite simply, if you do not own a mailing list then you do
NOT own a business. Since businesses, regardless of any
kind, involve people and your prospects are none other than
people themselves who are your potential customers.

And it’s common knowledge that people are more likely to
purchase something from a person the know and trust, than
from a complete strange they know nothing about.

So it’s no surprise to learn that the more times you
contact your readers with relevant information about their
own wants and needs, the greater the chance of building a
relationship with them.

In doing this, it is then much more likely that you will
gain the trust of your readers and when you send them an
email endorsing various products the more likely it is that
you will make a sale.

Not only this, but if you would frequent forums often you
will be well aware that product owners often want to co-
operate with mailing list owners who have a list of
prospects they want to create joint venture opportunities.

While some product owners offer attractive incentives and
commissions to mailing list owners, the point I want to
drive home is that product owners need the mailing list
owner more than the other way round.

And mailing list owners are much rarer than product
owners, since products (even great ones) are created almost
everyday and great mailing list owners don’t come by on the
same frequency.

Once you start to build your own mailing list and begin to
build a reputation online, you will find yourself flooded
being with heaps of offers from other list owners inviting
you to partner with them to promote their products or
services.

Do You Have A Linking Strategy?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be the difference
between a small, barely profitable or visible website and a
traffic magnet website. There are a lot of ways, both good
and bad, to influence the search engines. Some search
engines react to certain strategies better than others.
Some even have conflicting strategies that they react to.

To document all of these things would require a significant
number of pages and research that goes beyond the scope of
this article.

However, there are a number of things that can be
documented that will work for most if not all search engines.
And let’s face it; there are really only 3 that make a difference
between a successful and an unsuccessful SEO strategy.
They are the big three: Google, Yahoo and MSN. These three
search engines in any given month are responsible for over
90% of all Internet searches.

So, what is this article about? It’s about what you can do
as a website owner that will influence the search engines
using commonly accepted practices of linking to other
websites (outbound) and getting website links (inbound)
back to you.

There are basically 4 strategies that a website owner
usually will employ to increase their website value in the
eyes of the search engine.

They are reciprocal linking, one-way linking, multi-site
linking and directory linking. A website owner should not
think that using just a single strategy is the right answer
- sure it will help your SEO but it won’t be the Best answer.
The Best answer is to employ all 4 techniques and to do it
naturally.

Each of the four linking strategies has specific descriptions
that can be summed up as:

1. Reciprocal Linking = Site A links to Site B, Site B
links back to Site A

2. One-Way Linking = Site B links to Site A

3. Multi-Site Linking = Site A links to Site B, Site B
links to Site C, Site C links to Site D, and Site D
links back to Site A. Could be 3..N number of sites
involved.

4. Directory Linking = Site Directory A links to Site A

That seems simple enough but it takes time and effort to
perform all 4 strategies and most website owners aren’t
willing to spend the time or don’t have the time to spend
on it. As a website owner, SEO needs to be one of the
highest priority tasks that you need to address, just after
Order Processing and Fulfillment and Customer Service.

Without free traffic from the search engines, other
traffic generation strategies that usually require payment
must be engaged.

Now doing the 4 strategies above is great, but it gets
even harder because you have to do it in a way that doesn’t
trigger the search engines to enforce a penalty upon your
website. No one except the search engine engineers know all
of the exact penalties but we have some good theories for
some of them.

The first is the rate at which links are created. There is
a certain threshold for creating links that is too fast.
It’s possible that the threshold is a sliding scale and is
related to the age of the website according to the engine.

For example, a young low-traffic website should not
normally be getting 1000 links a month whereas an older
website that gets a lot of traffic could be OK to get 1000
links a month. As you progress in your linking strategies
make sure you keep this in mind, especially if you are
thinking about buying links.

The second is that having a link to every site that links
to you will likely reduce the value of the links. In other
words, if all you ever get is Reciprocal Linking, you will
likely move up the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Page’s)
but you won’t reach your sites full potential. Having a
mixture of all 4 strategies will appear more natural to the
engines.

The third is having all inbound links to your site on
“linking” pages will make those links less valuable than
having a natural link on a contextually relative page for a
percentage of the inbound links. The higher you can drive
this context percentage, the better your website will rank.

These types of links are often some of the most difficult
links to generate an exchange for because it requires more
time and effort for both website owners.

The fourth is to have links inbound from all different
ranking sites. If all you have linking to you is page rank
6 and 7 sites then you are likely to be sending the message
that you purchased your links and that is not natural to
the engines. Some would argue that purchasing links for
driving traffic is just fine and it is.

However, you should not expect the search engines to give
those inbound links very much weight when calculating your
SERP positions. It is significantly more natural for you to
have a large number of rank 1 and 2 inbound links and a
decreasing number of inbound links as you move up the page
rank scale (0 - 10).

The fifth is to have the text of you inbound links varied.
It isn’t natural to have every website that links to you to
have the same text on the link description.

The natural tendency would be to have a certain percent be
the sites name, but after that it should be a wide variety
of description. Your link text description is a key factor
for how your site/page will rank, so make sure that you
keep that in mind as you specify your preferred link text
description on your website.

Finally, it would be best for a good percentage of your
inbound links to appear within the text of a page that
appears natural for the reader of that site. And for those
links to not all point back to the home page of your
website. It’s most natural for a good high quality link to
appear in the text of a page and have it point internally
within your site.

So, when you begin or continue your SEO activities keep
all of these things in mind and don’t be impatient.
Impatience could incur penalties or worse. Your website
could end up in the “sandbox”.

It is rumored and becoming more concrete that Google
supposedly uses a sandbox that questionable sites are put
in until they have aged to a point that Google no longer
feels that they are being manipulated. Many of the search
engines use similar protection schemes to eliminate spam
sites and manipulation sites to keep their SERP’s from
being cluttered.

How to Write Articles Using Proven Successful Models

Writing articles is a fantastic way to brand yourself, plus
it’s a great method of sending traffic to your chosen
website.

But you need to understand that articles aren’t ads.
Writing an article that is full of ads promoting your
product simply doesn’t cut it. It needs to contain quality
content that is both informative and entertaining.

An article’s true purpose is not to sell product., it is
to promote your website and position you as either an
expert or a person to be trusted within your niche market
(preferably both).

No matter what your Internet business is, you are in a
crowded field. There are dozens, even hundreds, of other
websites offering products or services similar to yours.
Providing knowledge in the form of articles helps people
realize that you know what you’re talking about, and gives
them good reasons to buy from you rather than your
competitors.

So remember - an article is not an advertisement.

With this in mind, you may now be wondering exactly what
it is you should be writing articles about.

Here’s the good news - articles are flexible. You can
write an article on just about any topic, as long as you
can relate it in some way to your website and your products
or services.

Following are just a few examples of the many forms an
article can take.

- How-to:

Perhaps the most popular type of article is one that
explains how to do something, get something, use something
or find something.

For example, if you’re running an Internet business you
could probably write an article giving people advice on how
to start a small business from home. Think about your area
of specialty and list some things you can do that most
people might not know, but would like to learn.

- Opinion:

Whatever industry or type of business you work in, there
are always breaking developments, new products, or business
advances. You can write an article focusing on an emerging
aspect of your business, and offer your opinion on how it
will affect the industry.

- Personal/inspirational story:

Almost everyone has a compelling reason they went into
business for themselves. Consider writing an article or
series of articles about why you chose the path you did and
what problems or successes you had on your journey.

You can make it humorous, or inspirational, or both. Human
interest stories are a popular article format.

- Book excerpt or condensation:

If you’re selling a book, ebook or ecourse you’re in luck,
you have articles built in to your product. You can offer
your website visitors a free sample chapter, or write a
condensed article based on one of the ideas in your book.

Book excerpts also make great articles and if you use PDF
format to post an excerpt it can easily be passed around
via email.

- Top ten lists:

Many engaging articles are centered around a list concept.
And you don’t have to use the number ten; any number will
do. A couple of good examples are “The Seven Habits of
Highly Successful People” or “The Five People You Meet in
Heaven.”

Yes these are books, but the concept for articles is the
same. Fore example, if your website is geared for business
people, you might write an article about the six features
you need in a good PDA or SmartPhone.

You can write articles on any subject to get people
interested in finding out what else you have to say. But
always remember…

…people read articles to be entertained, get ideas or
learn something they didn’t know before, so stay away from
making your articles sound like advertisements!

Blunders That Can Destroy Your Online Success

Here are 4 of the biggest mistakes that new marketers make
that you need to avoid if you want to achieve long-term
online success…

Blunder #1

One of the biggest mistake you can make as an Internet
marketer is to try to handle too much of the day-to-day
running of your business yourself.

While in the beginning when your business is small it may
be ok to handle the workload yourself, as your business
grows it will result in you spending far too much time
handling a wide range of non-money making issues…

…and not enough time on tasks that actually earn you
profits!

Lesson learned - You need to develop a plan to outsource
most of the day-to-day tasks associated with the running of
your business!

This way you can spend more time on the things that
directly put moolah in your pocket, such as marketing,
finding JV’s and building your list.

Blunder #2

Another mistake inexperienced marketers make is that they
try to develop, write and create new products themselves.

Having your own product is one of the keys to creating a
mega successful business, so I strongly suggest you give
series consideration to developing your own product. But if
you do it all yourself it won’t give you a real chance to
market each product properly and the end result will be
less than acceptable.

Plus you will lose focus on the services or products you
may already have and as a result this could cost you loads
of money in lost profits that you leave on the table.

So, what can you learn from this mistake?

Once you get an idea for a product, forget about creating
it yourself!

Hire someone else to do the work for you and spend the
time you save on creating a detailed marketing plan for
every single product or service you have and then implement
this plan regardless of what else comes your way.

And if you create more than one new product (which is
highly advisable), don’t create them too close together.
Give yourself time to ensure your existing products are
established before you start your next project!

Blunder #3

Losing focus on building your subscriber list.

By doing too much of the hard slog yourself you can lose
focus on building your list.

This is a cardinal sin in marketing. Everyone knows that
the money is in the list and it’s just inexcusable if you
fail to concentrate more on this hugely important task.

Without a loyal subscriber list, you’re kidding yourself
if you think you can create a successful online business.

It’s simple economics. The larger your list and more
responsive your list, the more money you will make.

Don’t ever forget this!

Lesson learned - You’ve got the build the hell out of your
list!

Do whatever it takes, but build the biggest, baddest, most
loyal list you possibly can in the time you have. There’s
just no way to sugar-coat it - without a list you’re doomed
to fail.

This brings us to the last big mistake…

Blunder #4

Most inexperienced marketers send too many promotional
emails to their list and not enough quality content!

You MUST value the loyalty of your subscribers with utmost
respect and that is why you must do everything you can to
continue to earn the trust of your list.

You have to understand that if you want your subscribers
to trust you and follow your recommendations, then you’ve
got to treat them right. And simply sending them promotion
after promotion is NOT the way to treat them right.

Lessons learned - You must focus on sending your readers
quality content that will show them how they can benefit
from their chosen niche!

Don’t get me wrong. You’re in this game to earn an income,
so you still need to send promotions to your list. Just
ensure there is a good balance between pure content and
promotions.

Search Engine Optimization Techniques 101

Search engine optimization is important for getting a
higher ranking on search engines - and thus more exposure
to your website.

However, it can be very expensive to engage the services
of search engine optimization specialists to take care of
this for you. In fact, some large companies pay many
thousands of dollars just to get their websites to rank
higher in Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Of course not everyone has this kind of money in their
budget to spend on SEO, and as such most people choose to
do this themselves.

Just be aware that achieving a high ranking is not easy,
but if you have more time than money then naturally this is
the preferred method.

To help you get started, here are 6 things you need to do
to optimize your website to give yourself a fighting chance:

1. Title Tag

The title tag is the most powerful on-site search engine
optimization you have, so use it creatively. What you place
in the title tag should include the keywords that you are
trying to optimize your page for.

And most importantly - every single web page should have
its own title tag!

2. Alt Tag

The Alt tag is the text for an image. When you move your
mouse over an image and it shows some text, you’re seeing
an alt tag.

While you need to put your main keywords in these alt
tags, don’t abuse this technique. If you do, it may be seen
by the spiders as trying to spam the search engines and
this will cause your site to be penalized, which may result
in a drop in your rankings.

3. Link Popularity

Link popularity is one of the most important off-page
search engine optimization technique you can carry out, so
you should place a huge emphasize on this in your overall
strategy.

You need to request links constantly from highly related
website to increase your link popularity - plus you need to
write and submit articles, participate on forums and post
on niche related blogs to obtain as many “one-way” links
pointing to your site as you can.

When your website popularity increases, many people will
want to exchange links with you. Make sure your potential
link partners do not have a website that competes with you,
and never exchange links with link farms (websites with
only links and no content) as this can hurt your rankings.

4. Keyword Density

Keyword density is the number of times your keywords
appear on your page expressed as a percentage to the rest
of the text on the page.

This optimization factor is rather important. If it is too
high, it may be considered as spam by the search engines.
Conversely if it is too low, the search engines won’t
recognize it as a content worthy page.

There is no magic figure when it comes to how many
keywords you should have in each page of your site, but a
common theory is that you should try to have a keyword
density of between 3-5%, while still maintaining a good flow
that makes sense and sounds completely natural to your
visitors.

To improve your keyword density you should use the
appropriate keywords in the title tag, in your the heading
tags, and in bold or italic text in your body.

5. Keyword Relevance

Keyword relevance is where on your page you keywords
appear and this can have a profound affect on your rankings.

You should try to place your main keyword in your
headings, sub-headings using the h1 and h2 tages. Plus in
is also advisable to include your keywords at the beginning
and end of your content, with a natural sprinkling in
between.

Search engine optimization rules can change anytime and
will result in an increase or decrease in your rankings, so
it is recommended that you never solely rely on search
engine optimization as your only method of driving traffic
to your site.

To maintain a steady traffic to your site, you should use
a number of traffic generation methods to ensure your long-
term success - it’s the safest way!

How to Instantly Find Highly Motivated Customers

If you’re relatively new to the net and aren’t yet
receiving a constant flow of traffic to your website, then
you need a method of promoting yourself and your products
to the world so that you can start to see some profits.

One of the quickest and most cost effective forms of
online advertising is placing solo ads in ezines. Using
this method you can instantly drive targeted traffic to
your website as opposed to other longer term methods.

If you’re unsure what a solo ad is, it’s an advertisement
that promotes a single product by email to a list of ezine
subscribers. It is normally sent to an optin subscriber
list with no other competing advertisements or promotion
contained in the email.

You can purchase solo ads for as little as $10 per issue
and if you have an effective ad copy for the appropriate
audience it can often produce astonishing results.

If you select a high quality ezine that has a responsive
list, is highly targeted to your product and your ad is
personally endorsed by the owner of the ezine, the pulling
power of the ad can increase up to 10 times the normal
response rate.

There just isn’t anywhere else that you can get this kind
of “bang for your buck” when it comes to spending money on
your marketing.

By testing and tracking your ads and expanding into
different ezines on a progressive basis you could quickly
start reaching thousands of people weekly and earning an
income to match
