You Must Have Strategies in Place to Grow Your Income

Do you have a strategy?

From my observations, I see a lot of people online that
are moving forward without much of a strategy. Or they are
stuck using other peoples strategies and don’t develop
their own based on their needs and abilities.

It is very important to understand that those marketers
that are teaching you things online are doing what they
know or have been successful with themselves. It is not
necessarily the path for YOU or the only path you should
take.

I use a combination of strategies… I strongly use the old
saying, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”.

A good example of this is the amount of marketers who lost
a large chunk (if not all) of their online income because
the latest “Google Slap” wiped out most of their business.
Some marketers instantly lost hundreds of thousands of
dollars per year from their annual income.

Why? Because they had all their eggs in the Google basket.
Google can make changes virtually any time they like and in
doing so can affect thousands of people. You may think you
have control, but in reality you don’t.

That’s why you must diversify. Have a strategy that takes
into account these type of life altering changes.

Don’t do just one thing. Let me rephrase that. You can do
one thing, but make sure that you are covered within that
one thing.

For instance, if you depend on Google Adwords for the
majority of your income, that’s fine. Just make sure that
you are not doing just one thing within that market.
Develop your strategies so that if something happens, you
can rely on other techniques to continue to earn you income.

Things are in a continuous state of change online. You
must brace yourself for that change. Make sure you have a
strategy. Don’t lose sight of the big picture!

This is a business not just a way to make some quick
profits. Yes it can be, but generally I think most of us
want to have long term results and not live on the edge
from week to week.

So have some sort of strategy in place for your business
that insulates you from the environment. You should have a
short term, medium and long term strategy.
Where do you see yourself in 1 month, 6 months, 5 years?

How are you going to get there?

There are things I do to make money now, but there are
also things that I am building now that will blossom in the
future and offer long-term stability.

Just sit down for a few minutes and write down some of
your goals and what you want out of this business. After
you know what you want and have taken into consideration
the environment, map out how your are going to get there.

If you do this, you will not only find stability over the
long term, but you will find peace of mind.

How a Positive Attitude Can Lead to Astounding Success

Your subconscious mind can feed on thoughts of defeat or
thoughts of success.

In some ways it’s a bit like a chain reaction. What you
decide to think about or dwell on will leave an impression
on your mind that will effect everything you do.

Regardless of what you goals are, you will only ever be as
successful as you allow yourself to be!

It’s simple really. If you give up and get frustrated with
something, that frustration will have a negative impact on
the rest of your activities.

On the other hand if you follow through with something,
work hard and find a solution, the impact of that victory
will have a positive influence on the rest of your work.
This then allows you to tackle other projects with more
confidence, which can lead to even more success.

Basically, confidence stems from convincing yourself you
can. So the more positive you can be, the more you can do!
:-)

I often see people getting all worked up because of some
issue or whatever. And a most times this emotion is
impacting their attitude and their long-term success.

I’m not saying I’m always level… heck at times I can get
very annoyed. But you can’t get too caught up emotionally
or negatively in something that really isn’t that important.

Sometimes we must battle - other times it’s not going to
make any difference, so why bother. Just walk away and do
something else.

You are the master of your attitude and because of that
you can control your effectiveness, productivity and
results online or offline in your business or personal life.

The choice is really yours to think what you think. It may
take some effort to train yourself to think a certain way,
but it’s worth it. That effort will translate to your
subconscious and make for a better YOU.

You can decide to control your subconscious or turn it
over to itself and let it control you.

Think Positive… not negative!

A lot of people will joke when someone starts chanting
about positive attitudes and such… but I can assure you
there is something to it. You will have much better
relationships and results in your life if you are positive
rather than negative…

Affiliate Marketing is by far, one of the easiest ways to
make money online. It is a revenue sharing business
relationship between the affiliate who agrees to promote
the products or services, and the merchant who offers them.

Affiliate marketers can earn a few bucks to thousands of
dollars with affiliate programs and how much you earn is
only be limited to your determination, creativity and
strategy.

It is a brilliant way to earn online and you do not have
to produce your own product or service to make a buck.

You just need to be aware that making your fortune with
affiliate marketing is not instant. Profits usually start
small and then get larger as your campaign starts to build
momentum. You have to use your imagination to find more

How many affiliate checks do you want to receive?

For the last year or so Google Adsense has dominated
forums, discussions boards and newsletters all over the net
and there are tales of fabulous riches being made by many
experienced and newbie marketers.

It seems that Google Adsense has dominated Internet
marketing and some now consider this the easiest way to
make money online.

The key to success with Adsense is the placing of ads on
pages that are receiving high traffic for high demand niche
topics. The higher the cost-per-click to the advertiser,
the more you will receive from each of the ads placed
on your site.

Of course Google factors a number of things into
determining the value of each click so not all pages will
give you the same value for the same keyword. But with the
number of people searching online everyday it is no wonder

producing pages on your website!

For instance, if you have a website that provides free
downloads, check your logs and you will discover that many
of your visitors may be taking advantage of the free
resources that you are offering on your site.

This being the case, you can earn easy profits from the
freebie seekers simply by placing Adsense on these pages.
It really is that easy!

You can also place Adsense on your sitemap page, article
pages or directory pages. Basically you can place Adsense
ads on any page where you are not already promoting other
products or services. This way you are not competing
against yourself for your readers dollars, plus you gain a
benefit from pages you aren’t already monetizing.

You can also use graphics to grab your readers’ attention
to your ads. Just be aware that there are limitations as to
what you can and cannot do to make your graphics noticeable

location, location, location. You have to identify the
perfect spot on your pages to position your ads for maximum

results that the best position to place your ads for

How to Use Solo Ads to Generate Instant Profits

Is there any benefit in using paid ezine advertising?

The biggest ‘non-secret’ in generating wealth online is
traffic. Everybody knows it, every site wants it and every
site needs it.

And let’s face it. The point of creating a websites is to
be visited and viewed. Many elaborate designs, buckets of
money and countless hours of your time can goes into
creating a site, but without traffic it is all for naught.

With traffic comes potential customers, which basically
transfers into more sales and more profit. While many sites
have not been able to make any real money online, others
have generated a good income by concentrating on driving
traffic
to their sites and building their subscriber list.

One very effective method of driving highly targeted
visitors to your sites is “Precision Marketing”. This is
the term given when you laser focus your marketing so
that you specifically target a certain aspect of your
online business.

One such method is ezine advertising. Or more specifically
“solo ad” advertising!

Listen. There are countless methods of driving traffic to
your site. The trouble is that most of them, while
extremely successful, can take time to work. So if you’re
looking for instant results, paid advertising works - and
works well.

One of the most effective methods for driving responsive
visitors to your site
is to find highly targeted ezines
where the ezine owner has nurtured a highly responsive and
trustworthy list. It’s then just a matter of contacting the
owner to negotiate
a solo ad to be sent to their list
endorsing your chosen product or service.

Now I’m not talking about the many nickel and dime ezines
where you can send out a solo ad for 20 bucks. These types
of ezines have their place and if used correctly you can
make money from them, but you have to be very selective in
the ones you chose.

Advertising in a highly respected ezine that is full of
quality subscribers can cost up to $300 a solo ad and this
scares a majority of the new marketers away like crazy. But
you have to understand that to get the best results you
have to be prepared to spend money to make money.

However the smart marketers know that there is gold in
these quality ezines and the results can be extremely
rewarding and well worth the effort.

For example, recently a solo ad I used to promote a new
sites cost $297 for one single mailing, which at first
glance may seem expensive. However the list owner was a well
respected authority in his niche, he had built a huge
amount of trust with his 35,000+ readers, and the ezine was
tightly focused on the service I was promoting.

This results achieved from this single mailing were super
rewarding and it was the best 300 bucks I have ever spent.
In total the solo ad generated $2460 in extra sales and
added 830 new subscribers to my list. That’s how powerful
this strategy can be!

Of course not all results will be as good as this, and you
may find some that could be total duds. But if you do your
homework, on average you should be able to at least get
results that make it worth your while.

But before you decided to spend big bucks on a “high-end”
solo ad, it is imperative you first test your site to see
if your idea captures the attention of your visitors.
Ideally you should send your visitors to a landing page and
then convince them to signup to your list. You can then
create a OTO offer to generate some backend sales if you
want.

As a measure your pages effectiveness, a good capture page
should convert at least 20% of your visitors to your optin
list. And if you are providing a OTO page, you should be
aiming for at least a 4-5% conversion.

Once you have tested and tweaked your page to achieve
these numbers, you can then start rolling out your offer
with larger solo ad campaigns.

But remember - always TEST and TWEAK before rolling out and
spending any real money on a campaign!

So do your homework, look for highly respected marketers
in your niche and then contact them to see if they would be
prepared to send an endorsement to their list to promote a
highly related product or service.

you away!

How to Find Time to Build My Online Business

This is something most people struggle with…

When you initially decide to go online, you struggle to
find the one thing… the one idea to follow!

But if you ’stick it out’ and hang around long enough
opportunities start flying out of the woodwork. In fact, it
can even become overpowering and it’s almost impossible to
make up your mind what to do or what not to do.

Then once you finally come to a decision on the things you
are going to do, you then have to arrange your time in such
a way to get things done.

But how do you settle on what it is you should do first?

Priority is one method of narrowing down the list of what you
want to do. You need to determine what is most essential?
What model or strategy is going to make you the most money?
Which method is going to make the fastest profits?

Once you have figured that out, you then need to develop a
plan and a timeframe to complete the tasks outlined in
your plan. In the initial stages your plan can be something
as simple as a piece of paper that you stick to your
monitor or on your bedroom mirror so you see it everyday.

Then comes the hard part. You have to actually take action!

This is the one step that accounts for over 90% of people
not making it online. They have the best intentions, but
when push comes to shove they don’t follow through with
their goals. So it is imperative that you identify the
tasks you need to do, and then do them!

You can either do your tasks one at a time or combine
related tasks together in batches to achieve your goals
faster. Just take care not to do too much at once,
otherwise you will only confuse and frustrate yourself.

Regardless of how you accomplish your tasks, your main
goal is to see things through to the end. It’s better to do
one thing well and complete it, than to do a bunch of
things poorly and only half-finish everything.

Not everything you are going to be doing will be fun, so
sometimes it will be difficult to stay focused. The trick
is to break down your plan into smaller ‘bite sized’ sub-
tasks to make your job appear easier. Then concentrate on
the results you are going to get.

Focus on what the benefits of your actions will be. If
it’s a big project that’s going to take a while, it might
help to write down the benefit that you can imagine clearly
in your mind and then stick them in a place you will see
them everyday to help motivate yourself.

For example, benefits could include:

1. Help you pay the utility bills
2. Find the extra money to take the family on a vacation
3. Pay for your web hosting each month
4. Buy that car you’ve always wanted
5. Allow you to quit your day job

You get the idea. Simply figure out what it is you want
the most and then write it down.

The next time you are doing that task that is driving you
crazy… close your eyes for a minute and visualize what
it will be like when you achieve your goal.

Then it’s just a matter of setting specific goals to
complete your tasks - and disciplining yourself so you can
reach those goals.

Persistence is the Key to Your Success!

Are you persistent?

You better be because most often than not it’s the only
way you will be able to achieve your goals and dreams.
Almost everyone who has succeeded either online or off-line
has only done so because they were persistent - even when
things look their most darkest.

Most of the most successful people in their field have
failed the first time round - and most times on more than
one occasion. But instead of staying down for the count,
they got back up, dusted themselves off and kept on
fighting.

Successful people are made - not born. There are no rules
or statistics that can accurately predict the results of
any venture - well not that I’m aware of anyway - but
through persistence you can tilt the odds of success in
your favour.

Listen. The Internet is filled with promises of quick
riches, and due to our overwhelming desire to succeed we
tend to fall for this over and over again. Now don’t get me
wrong. You can become an overnight success. But the odds
are that you won’t.

On average it can take you up to 4 years to become an
overnight success. Ask most marketers who have achieved any
level of real success and they will tell you a similar
story. Very rarely does anyone instantly hit a home run on
their first dig.

It’s not that they don’t have a chance to become
successful. They do. In fact anyone can. It just takes
time and patience. What most people do is try one or two
things and if they are immediately success, they move on to
something else. Big mistake. You need to identify what it
is you want to do… and then stick with it.

So the first thing you need to do if you decide to pursue
something online is to do your homework. You need to become
familiar with the playing field and learn the rules of the
game. In other words, know your competition.

When you’ve found your niche, you then need to develop a
plan based on thorough research. It doesn’t have to be
complex, but you need to lay the foundation for your online
business first. The stronger your foundation, the better
the chance you have of building a solid long-term business.

Then you need to develop your business plan and set in play
the motions to build your foundations. Once you do this
you should have a better understanding for how the online
game works and you will be better prepared to go out make
it happen.

You must then take action and employ persistent tactics in
order to succeed. Your first venture may fail. Your second
venture may fail. Heck even your seventh venture may fail.
But if you are persistent and continually seek out
different and new techniques - you WILL succeed.

So find your niche, research and develop it - and then
pursue it. And pursue it with persistence. It’s the key to
your success!

A Little Used List Building Success Strategy

Here is a little used technique you can implement to build
your mailing list for no additional cost. I call it “using
subscribers to make subscribers” - much like in the
context of “using money to make money”.

This simple list building formula can be summed up in two
words:

Ad Swap!

In simple terms an Ad Swap is when you JV with other ezine
publishers within your niche to trade advertisements
between your lists.

This works best if you partner with someone who has a
similar size list to that of your own. This way it’s fair
to both you and the other ezine publisher.

In essence, you broadcast your partners advertisement to
your mailing list, and they advertise your ad to their
list. Yes, you are actually cross promoting each others
offer to each of your mailing lists.

The best strategy to get the best results is to use an
endorsement style mailing. In other words, you get your JV
partner
to endorse your offer.

The reason this method is so effective is because your JV
partner
should have already built a level of trust with his
readers, so when he endorses your offer they will trust
his judgement and visit your page.

But a word of warning…

You should never directly promote a product or service
with the view of making a sale using this method. You can
do this once you have subscribers on you list, but you
should never send new visitors to a sales page without
first asking them to join your list.

If you do this, your results may be very disappointing.
Let’s face it. Your JV partners readers don’t know who you
are, so why should they purchase anything from you without
first getting to know or trust you.

So with this in mind, your primary goal with this form of
marketing is solely to get as many subscribers as possible
from the other ezine publisher’s mailing list to sign up
for your list. And the most effective method to do this is
to offer them something of value in return for signing up
to your list.

The result is that you can grow your mailing list without
spending a solitary dime, which can have a major impact on
your bottom line.

Not only this, you will also have multiple opportunities
to promote your offers to your new readers, which if done
correctly can exponentially grow your profits.

Of course this is just one method of building your list,
but it is one of the most effective as you are targeting
hot prospects who have already shown an interest in your
topic.

All you need do then is to build a relationship with
them to gain their trust.

So go out and seek as many ad swaps with as many ezine
publishers
as possible to begin building your own list of

While many people have gone to great lengths to create
barriers to keep their email accounts from receiving what
they consider spam-related email that promote various
products, there are also those who welcome these type of
emails.

This is mainly because these subscribers want to know more
about what these sites are offering and can be beneficial
for them. They expect to get be kept posted on what they
are interested in and what are new in the market or field
they have chosen.

Most marketers would be so lucky to have these kinds of
readers and the basic element needed to get these types of
readers is trust. When your readers trust you they will
reward you with their loyalty and respond to your
promotions.

With a list of loyal subscribers who trust you and are

How to Increase Believability For Greater Results

When your prospect reads your copy, you want to make sure
they believe any claims you make about your product or
service. If there is any doubt in their mind, they won’t
bite, no matter how sweet the deal.

It’s a known fact that the “too good to be true” mentality
will virtually guarantee a lost sale…even if it is all true.

So what can you do to increase the perception of
believability? After all, it’s the perception you need to
address up front. But of course you also must make sure
your copy is accurate and truthful.

Here are some tried and tested methods that will help:

- If you’re dealing with existing customers who already
know you deliver as promised, emphasize that trust. Don’t
leave it up to them to figure it out. Make them stop, cock
their heads, and say, “Oh, yeah. The ABC Company has never
done me wrong before. I can trust them”.

- Include testimonials of satisfied customers. It doesn’t
matter that your testimonials aren’t from somebody famous
or that your prospect does not know these people
personally. If you have enough compelling testimonials, and
they’re believable, you’re much better off than not
including them at all.

- Pepper your copy with facts and research findings to
support your claims. Be sure to credit all sources, even if
the fact is common knowledge, because a neutral source goes
a long way towards credibility.

If you’ve sold a lot of widgets, tell them. It’s the old
“10 thousand people can’t be wrong” adage (they can be, but
your prospect will likely take your side on the matter).

- Include a GREAT return policy and stand by it! This is
just good business policy. Many times, offering a double
refund guarantee for certain products will result in higher
profits. Yes, you’ll dish out more refunds, but if you sell
three times as many widgets as before.

- Reveal a flaw about your product. This helps alleviate
the “too good to be true” syndrome. You reveal a flaw that
isn’t really a flaw. Or reveal a flaw that is minor, just
to show that you’re being “up front” about your product’s
shortcomings.

Example:

“You’re probably thinking right now that this tennis
racket is a miracle worker-and it is. But I must tell you
that it has one little…shortcoming.

My racket takes about 2 weeks to get used to. In fact,
when you first start using it, your game will actually get
worse. But if you can just ride it out, you’ll see a
tremendous improvement in your volleys, net play, serves,
…”

There’s a tendency to think, with all of the ads that we
are bombarded with today that every advertiser is always
putting his best foot forward, so to speak. And I think
that line of reasoning is accurate, to a point.

But isn’t it refreshing when someone stands out from the
crowd and is honest? In other words, your reader will start
to subconsciously believe that you are revealing all of the
flaws, even though your best foot still stands forward.

- Use “lift notes”. These are a brief note or letter from
a person of authority. A person of authority is someone
well recognized in their field (which is related to your
product) that they are qualified to talk about. Lift notes
may be distributed as inserts, a separate page altogether,
or even as part of the copy itself. As always, test!

- If you are limiting the offer with a deadline “order by”
date, be sure the deadline is real and does not change.
Deadline dates that change every day are sure to reduce
credibility. The prospect will suspect, “if his deadline
date keeps changing, it’s just a fake offer”. And they are
right.

As an affiliate marketer your main purpose is to
effectively promote a product or service and to find
customers.

For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to
convince your potential customers that certain products and
services would help them to achieve their personal goals
or fix a problem they may be experiencing.

However, it is difficult - no make that almost impossible
for you to do this when you yourself are not your best
customer.

By this I mean that you must first test the product or
service yourself BEFORE you promote it to your list.

If you do not own the product or service yourself, it will
show in your sales copy and you will not be able to
convincingly explain the benefits or disadvantages of the
product your are promoting.

As a result, your list will be able to instantly spot this
and you will lose any credibility you may have built with
your readers.

Many new affiliate marketers make this mistake and they
pay dearly for their actions with a lack of sales. In order
to succeed you need to avoid making the same mistakes.

You need to first try the product or service personally
before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it really
delivers what it promises.

Then simply give an honest and unbiased review of your
thoughts on the product and if it helped you, tell your
readers how it did, and how it could help them.

If you do this, you can become a credible and living
testament to the product. Your customers will then feel the
sincerity and truthfulness in your copy and this may just
be the trigger for them to try it out for themselves.

Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check
if you are on the right track. If done properly, you will
be able to begin generating more sales and earning a
higher online income in no time flat.

“A Real Life Example of Mega Successful Viral Marketing”

The most effective way to learn is to analyze examples of
real life success stories and then implement what you’ve
learned for your own benefit. Here is one such example of a
truly amazing viral marketing campaign…

The Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) was chosen to
showcase the world-famous exhibition for the Lord of the
Rings Trilogy. HMNS quickly realized that while the exhibit
was expected to generate a great deal of interest, it
didn’t have a lot of appeal for their core audience.

The success of the exhibition therefore would rest in how
it was marketed.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science quickly called in

also, hoping to acquire new patrons and members to further

Spur digital worked with HMNS to identify the target
market for the campaign and developed an integrated online
media plan to reach those audiences.

The campaign featured an online contest that was marketed
through targeted online media outlets including relevant
Web sites, Search Engines and third party E-mail lists.

Viral marketing was an important component of the
campaign, so Spur developed an innovative strategy to get
people to refer their friends.

Spur identified the target audience as males 18 to 34
years old who were fans of action and fantasy films,
frequent video game players and movie renters, tech-savvy
who generally didn’t hang out at museums.

Based on this information, Spur chose search engine
advertisements that would accompany specific search words,
dedicated email advertisements, sponsored email
advertisements, banner ads on web sites targeted toward the
desired audience, and emails to the HMNS list.

Did it work?

You bet. The results were excellent. The impact of the
viral marketing effort was astounding - over 23% of
registrants originated from the Tell-A-Friend feature. The
direct marketing efforts yielded impressive results as well.

In total, the 12 week locally-targeted online campaign
yielded more than 2 million targeted impressions, 40,000
unique visits, almost 12,000 and 6,000 invitations sent by
friends at a cost per action of less than $3.00. These

But a the end of the day none of this matters unless you
have a list of people you can market to each and every
month. It’s as simple as that!

So the second part of building a successful online
business is that you NEED to build your own list of highly
responsive subscribers. Your list is the lifeblood of your
business and building a responsive list should be the MOST
important thing you ever do.

The bigger your responsive list is… the more money you
will make. Once you’ve built a sizable list, you can
virtually quit your job and work online full-time knowing

Step 3…

Once you’ve started to drive traffic to your site and
you’ve got a strategy in place to capture the contact

“How to Generate More Profits From Your Web Pages”

When creating your sales copy it is important to pay
particular attention to your page layout. This is a very
important step in the sales process, because you want your
page to
grab the attention of your potential customers.

In short, you need to force your prospect to stop what
they are doing and read your page.

If they see a page with tiny margins, no indentations, no
breaks in the text, no white space, and no subheads… if
they see a page of nothing but densely-packed words, do you
think they will be tempted to read it?

Not likely.

If you do have ample white space, generous margins, short
sentences, short paragraphs, subheads and an italicized or
underlined word here and there for emphasis, it will
certainly look more inviting to read.

When reading your sales copy, some prospects will start at
the beginning and read word for word. Some will read the
headline and maybe the first paragraph, then read the
“P.S.” at the bottom of the page, then start back at the
beginning again.

And some folks will scan through your copy, noticing the
various subheadings and dot-points strategically positioned
throughout your page, then decide if it’s worth their time
to read the entire thing. Some may never read the entire
page, but order anyway.

You must design your page to cater for all these different
types of visitors. You will need interesting and compelling
long copy for the studious reader, short paragraphs and
sentences, white space, and subheads for the skimmer.

And here’s a little known tip you don’t often hear…

Naturally the most important part of your page is your
heading and it needs to include you most compelling and
best benefit…

…But some of the headlines that didn’t make the cut can
be converted to make great subheadings.

A good subheading forces your prospect to keep reading,
threading them along from start to finish throughout your
copy, while also providing the glue necessary to keep
skimmers skimming.

Keep that in mind when creating your sales copy :-)

I just made up those examples, but I think you understand

By the way, did you notice in the list of features where I

You are not writing to impress your English teacher or win
any awards. The only award you’re after is results. So take
some liberty in grammar, punctuation and sentence
structure. You want it to be read and acted upon, not read
and admired.

Now back to benefits…

If you were selling an expensive men’s watch, you wouldn’t
tell your reader that the face is 2 inches in diameter and
the band is made of leather.

You need to tell them how the extra-large face will
benefit them. They won’t have to squint and look foolish to
everyone around him trying to read this magnificent
timepiece.

And how about the way they’ll project success and charisma
when he wears the beautiful gold watch with its handcrafted
custom leather band? How their partner will find them
irresistible when they’re all dressed up to go out, wearing
the watch.

Or how the watch’s status and beauty will attract the
ladies.

Incidentally, did you notice how I brought up not
squinting as a benefit? Does that sound like a silly
benefit?

Not if you are selling to affluent baby boomers suffering
from degrading vision. They probably hate it when someone
they’re trying to impress sees them squint in order to read
something. It’s all part of their inner desire, which you
need to discover.

And which even they may not know about. That is, until you
show them a better way.

The point is to address the benefits of the product, not
its features. And when you do that, you’re focusing on your
reader and their interests and desires. The trick is to
highlight the specific benefits that push your reader’s
emotional hot buttons.

Regardless of who you are or where you live, everyone gets
the same 24 hours each day to do what it is you do.

If this is the case, why is it then that some people seem
to be able to get more done in those same 24 hours than
what ohers can?

Maybe they have some mystical supernatural powers? Or
maybe they work harder than most?

This may be true in the movies, but in real life it’s rarely the
case. The secret to getting more done without necessarily
working harder is proper time management.

Time management allows you to get more done with less
effort. It also helps reduce the stress and pressure that
goes hand-in-hand with having to finish multiple jobs at
the same time. And this is even more important if you are
trying to manage your online business while still working
your day job.

If you truly are desperate to juggle all your responsibilities
without having to sacrifice too much of the limited time you
get to spend with your family or loved ones, then here are s
ome tips and techniques to help you on your way:

1. Keep notes

Notebooks and mini-recorders are very effective tools for
organizing your day. Some of the best time managers have a
handy notebook in tow in which they are able to keep track
of the day and the things they need to do.

As the world becomes increasingly technology-based, more
and more mobile organizers are becoming available. These
organizers help you schedule appointments and duties and
make keeping appointments a snap.

These are also good productivity tools. You never know
when a good idea could hit you. So if you are constantly
armed with pen and paper - or an organizer for that
matter - you are in a better position to capture the idea
and put it in motion.

The fatal mistake most people commit is to think that they
can delegate all the organizing and note-taking to memory.
Unfortunately, just like you have forgotten what you
dreamt about last night, you are bound to forget whatever
idea you whipped up a few days ago.

This is where Mini-recorders are especially useful. I find
it very handy to keep a recorder in my car so that when I
come up with a brainwave about a new idea, I just record my
thoughts so that I don’t forget. Then I can transcribe my
thoughts at my leisure.

2. Modularize

The best way to deal with multiple major problems is to
divide and conquer. If you feel that a problem is too big to
handle, then it probably is. Instead of buckling under the
pressure, the best thing to do is to cut up the problem into
more manageable parts and deal with them separately.

After making the problem more manageable, you can then
allocate resources such as schedule, finances and effort
towards accomplishing the project.

For example, rather giving yourself a headache about how
you’re going to build multiple streams of income, develop
a realistic step-by-step plan and then just concentrate on
one step at a time to build your online income.

3. Delegate

Another way to manage your time wisely is to delegate some
jobs to other people and making sure that everyone works in
sync. This will take a lot of communication, skill, and effort -
but ultimately it is the only way to accomplish anything that
may be too large for one person.

This part of your online business is imperative if you’re
goal is to earn a REAL income. You simple can’t do everything
yourself, so you need to outsource various parts of your
business. Rather than do everything yourself, your role
should be to supervise these tasks and then fit the pieces
of the puzzle together as each task is completed.

Time management is no easy task. However, you should
realize that the you spend time planning and managing your
use of time, the more time you will have to enjoy your
rewards.

to ramping up your income is to write little checks and get

2. Know your target audience.

Before writing an article, conduct research on your target
audience. What your chosen topic? What pain or problem do
they face or try to avoid?

3. Develop a detailed outline that stress the benefits.

Now that you have a purpose and a target, organize your
article so that scanning it quickly will show immediately
to your reader how they will benefit from it and what are
the most important points.

4. Stop your reader in his tracks with your title.

Your title should grab the reader’s attention and ‘force’
him to read your first paragraph. Using your most important
benefit usually does it. Your title should also contain
keywords that are highly related to your content.

5. Start your article with the most important benefit.

Again, do not keep your most important information for the
conclusion. You need to give it up immediately to grab your
readers attention and then further expand on this in the
following paragraphs.

6. Keep your sentences simple and short.

If possible, avoid jargon that may confuse your readers.
In other words, write your article and keep it simple so
that even a child can understand it. Using short and simple
sentences will allow a fluid and easy reading, preventing
your reader from getting bored.

7. Make your article warm and personal.

Speak direct to the reader and in a tone as if you were
talking face to face with a friend. Use a lot of ‘you’
and very little “I or me”. Reading your article, the
reader should feel warmth and empathy, knowing that you
have the same problems and goals than him.

8. Spend more time rewriting than writing.

Besides formatting your article for easy reading, be sure
to use spellcheck tools or an external editor to
carefully proofread your writing for grammatical and
spelling errors.

Remember that the more writing you do, the better you will
get. Believe me, there will come a time when article
writing will not seem as difficult as it may be now and
you will be kicking yourself for not going it earlier.

Using Keywords to Gain Higher Search Engine Placement!

Optimization your web pages for the search engines is the
first task you should do as an internet marketer.

While search engine optimization can be a complicated and
time consuming task - and well outside the scope of this
topic - getting the basics right puts you in a much
better position compared to doing nothing at all.

The easiest place to start is learning how to use your
keywords and keywords phrases for optimal effectiveness to
give yourself a chance of getting a high search engine
placement for a range of niche keywords.

To do this you need to optimize highly related, but
different, keywords and/or keyword phrases on each page of
your website.

To get you on the right track, here are the most
successful methods of using your keywords for maximum
benefit.

Title Tag:

- Use keywords and/or keyword phrases as a descriptive
title for each page.

- Use your most relevant keywords and/or keyword phrases
in your home page title.

- To be most effective, title tags should contain
keywords and/or keyword phrases with some related
qualifiers.

- Repeat the keywords and/or keyword phrases if needed,
but make sure that the title makes sense. An example for
this page would be: Keyword Usage, Using Keywords and
Keyword Phrases Effectively.

Meta Tag Keywords:

- Place all relevant keywords and keyword phrases in your
meta tag.

- If possible, avoid using single keywords as they are
too broad and may be too competitive. Use multiple keyword
phrases of at least 2 or 3 words instead.

- Don’t repeat your keywords more than 2-3 times so as to
avoid offending some search engines.

- Separate keywords and keyword phrases with commas or
spaces, not both. Example: keyword,keyword phrase,keyword -
or - keyword keyword phrase keyword.

- Use common misspellings - for exemaple, keywrod or
keywird.

- Use different forms of keywords whenever possible - for
example, web site and website.

- Use upper and lower case - for example, Website and
website.

Meta Tag Description:

- Use your keywords and keyword phrases in your meta tag
description.

- Repeat your most important keywords and/or keyword
phrases a minimum of 2-3 times.

- The total length of your description tag should be no
more than 20-25 words.

- Your description should make sense, as this is what
often shows up in the search engine results page. This is
your opportunity to persuade users to click through to your
site, so be sure your description is enticing and contains
keywords and/or keyword phrases that will attract visitors.

Page Body:

- Many search engines concentrate on the first 250 words
of your text when looking for keyword relevancy and density
so concentrate your keywords and/or keyword phrases there.

- Strive for 3-5% keyword density (3-5 keywords and/or
keyword phrases per 100 words of text). If your keyword
density is much higher than this, your copy may not make
sense AND the search engines may consider it keyword
spamming.

- Use your most important keywords and/or keyword phrases
throughout your copy, but without sounding repetitious.

- Use your most important keywords and/or keyword phrases
in your H1 tag. To give more weight to your H1 tag, use
only one H1 tags in your copy. (Your H1 tag should contain
your most important statement so you shouldn’t need to use
more than one H1 tag.)

- Use keywords and/or keyword phrases in your image ALT
tags. For example your logo ALT tag should say something
such as: ALT=”keyword image”.

META tags are not as important as they once were, as most
search engines are now searching your copy when looking for
keywords and/or keyword phrases. Therefore, it’s become
increasingly important to have the first 250 words of your
copy be keyword rich.

Sometimes, it may be better to write your content first,
then choose your keywords and/or keyword phrases from the
content.

Rewrite your content as needed, adding keywords and/or
keyword phrases that pertain to the theme of the content.
In this way you’ve chosen keywords and/or keyword phrases
that are relevant to your content, instead of trying to
write content to fit your keywords and/or keyword phrases.

More and more people are beginning to realize that email
marketing is the key to growing their online business.
However, many fail to realize that there is a lot more to
email marketing than simply promoting your products.

Using email is no different to any other type of
marketing and as such it’s important to understand that
email marketing is just a tool and like any tool you need to
learn how to use it.

Your goal should not be to make the sale, but to provide
your prospect with quality content that helps to solve
their problems. However this is not the biggest problem you
will face. You see, over 90% of all emails will never get
to be read.

Why? Poor subject lines!

To put it bluntly. Your subject line will determine the
success or failure of your email campaign. Basically your
subject line has one task, and one task only - to convince
your reader to open you message!

Simply stating “You can make $X in the next 30 days” just
doesn’t cut it any more. In fact, there’s a good chance
that a line like this will be considered spam and it won’t
even reach your readers inbox.

The rule of thumb is that the more hyped your subject is -
the less chance there is of your email getting read. So if
this is the case, then how do you grab your reader’s
attention without hype?

There’s no magic formula, but personalizing the subject
line with your prospects name is a good start. But a
name alone won’t get you great results. You still need to
craft your subject line without the hype.

My own tweaking and testing has found that adding an
element of mystery or asking a question vastly improves the
open rates of my emails.

In other words, rather than making a bold statement in
your subject line, use a more passive approach by asking a
question that is directly related to a problem your readers
are facing.

A good method you can use to create your own subject lines
is to do a quick scan of your email box and look at the
subject lines of the emails you’ve opened. There’s a good
chance that if these subject lines worked on you, they just
may have the same affect on your readers.

For example, I just had a quick scan of my email box and
found these subject lines that tweaked my interest:

“Only available for the next 48 hours…”
“2 Important News Items for Today”
“Here are 5 super easy tips…”
“Please save this date”

These are just a few quick examples, but I’m sure you get
the idea. All you need to do is create a sense of urgency
or mystery without all the hype and half the battle is won.

And remember, always tack your links, even in emails.

The 60 Second Weekly Tip…

Did you know that a top level domain name is one of your
strongest sales tools for your website. It’s not
everything, but it can make a difference.

For example, if you want to create a site about Venetian
Blinds, it would make sense to use a domain name including
the phrase “venetianblinds”.

Think about it. If you were searching for info on venetian
blinds and you seen a site with this term in the domain
name and one without, which one would you think would
provide the best information?

Naturally you’d go for the one with your search term in
the domain name. Why? Because you (and your visitors)
would portray this site as having more credibility and
authority, therefore you would give this site a higher
priority.

So with this in mind, you should try to include the topic
of your site in your domain name.

Unfortunately other people may have had the same idea, so
using our example, venetianblinds.com may no longer
available, nor may venetianblinds.net, .org, .biz or any
other simple domain name with a top level suffix.

So, what can you do? Well, here’s a couple of very simple
tips that may be well worth trying if you are looking to
bag that all important top level domain name for your site.

The trick is - numbers!

Not numbers at the beginning of the domain address -
that’s really old news - but rather numbers in the “body”
of the domain name itself, especially the numbers 2 and 4.

Why? Well the number 2 is a simple substitute for the
word “to” and 4 can be read as “for”.

So let’s tie that in with one other little substitution
trick - take the word “you” and substitute the letter “u” -
and finding a good top level domain name that still relates
very closely to the site subject matter becomes a
relatively simple matter.

Ok. Let’s take our venetianblinds example to show how
effective this strategy can be.

Using all three of the highlighted tricks, try searching
for venetianblinds2u.com and venetianblinds4u.com

How about venetianblinds4us.com or venetianblinds4me.com?

Even if all of these are taken, all you need is a little
more imagination to create a top level domain name that
directly relates to your niche topic.

Easy as ABC Article Writing!

Writing and submitting articles is without question one of
the most effective methods of driving targeted visitors to
your website, increasing your rankings and boosting sales.
However, from most people article writing is a difficult as
it brings back long forgotten bad memories of writing high
school reports or university essays.

The good news is that by learning just a few simple steps,
writing your own articles isn’t as hard as it may first
appear.

One of the biggest hurdles most new writers face is
finding ideas to write about. The easiest way to begin is
to write about things you have an interest in or are
excited about.

Once you have decided on a general area, a good way to
narrow the topic down is to focus on the problems that
people face. Typically, people read articles because they
want to be entertained or they are seeking and solution to
a problem they face.

Writing entertaining articles is a particular and more
difficult skill. However, writing informative articles that
provide solutions can be as simple as sharing tips that you
have learned.

You may already know the common problems that people have
in your particular topic, but if not, a good way to find
out is to regularly scan related online forums and note the
most common questions being asked.

If you don’t have all the answers, carry out some research
to find the information you need. Often the answers are
readily available by simply searching the major search
engines.

Most people don’t like to read large documents online, so
your article should be between 500- 800 words. If you think
this is far too many words, then a simple trick is to break
the article into smaller sections, such as an introduction,
a small number of sub-headings and a conclusion.

All you need to then is to write about 50 words in each
sub-section and before you realize it, you have written a
complete and informative article.

And most importantly, don’t forget to add an “about the
author” section where you can place details on how to get
your readers to join your list or to visit your website for
additional information about your topic.

The first draft should be for your eyes only. Don’t try to
produce a final copy as you write. It tends to be much
quicker to get your thoughts down and come back to edit
later.

The final step in the writing process is to proofread your
article making sure that the writing flows and would be
interesting to the reader. Ask yourself, ‘does the article
provide information the potential reader is looking for?’

It can also be helpful to have someone else proofread the
article. This is also the time to remove spelling and
grammatical errors.

Once you have written your article, submit it to article
directories. As other websites publish your article you
will begin to receive one-way links pointing back to your
site. This will then help you to gain higher rankings in
the search engines, which will only help to drive even more
traffic to your site.

Yes. It does take time to write articles, but doing so is
the easiest and most effective method of branding yourself,
as well as driving free traffic to you website so you can
build your list and boost your profits. And isn’t that what
it’s all about?

Yes it’s true. Online free classified sites provide an
effective solution to promoting your business or to sell
your products without having to outlay huge sums of money
when first starting out.

You just need to be aware that advertising in these sites
can be time consuming and frustrating, and if not used
properly can be a complete waste of your time and effort.

However, knowing the tricks and tips will separate you
from the hundreds who post thousands of ads without getting
any results.

All free classified sites are not created equal, so to
start with you should only focus on a few good sites and
post your ads regularly only in those sites.

To get started, go to Google and do a search for “free
classifieds” and “free ads”.

From the search result pages, visit and register with 10
to 15 sites. If a site asks too many questions during the
registration process, abandon it and go to the next site.
Good sites will only ask minimal questions to setup your
account so that you can edit, delete and renew your ads.

If you can find a site that will let you post without any
registration, then all the better!

When you start to create your ad you will only have space
to write 80 to 100 words so you need to focus on the
benefits of your products and services. Try to think of
benefits in terms of generating extra income, improving
health and relationships and providing a sense of good
feelings when they use your products and services.

An even better method is rather than try to sell them on a
product, get them to join your list. This will allow you to
contact them at a later date, which will give you more time
to fully explain the benefits of the product you’re
promoting.

Write a concise, interest grabbing, captivating title with
action words that compels the reader to take action. If you
are promoting an affiliate product you need to make your
title and copy stand out so that it gets noticed amongst
all the other competing ads.

In most classified sites, the most recent ads are listed
on the top of the search listing pages, so depending on how
many ads are posted each day in the same category, your ad
could end up being buried deep down the listings in a
matter of days, even hours.

To avoid this, you may need to keep your ads fresh and on
the top of the listing page by renewing your ads every
couple of days - and in some cases every few hours.

Do not post your ads in all categories. Doing this will
get you banned very quickly.

Post only in a few relevant categories, preferably using
different ad copies and ad titles for each ad. If the site
has regional sections, e.g. US states, cities, or countries
and your target is to reach every region, post in 10 to 15
regions only.

If you’re going to use banners or photos in your ad, make
sure that the size and dimensions of your images are within
the sites acceptable limits. Otherwise the site may choose
to not display your images at all.

Listen, I’ll be honest with you. Posting on free
advertising sites is not as effective as it once was and in
most instances it will take a lot of effort on your part to
generate any sales or to build your list. It is for this
reason that most people tend to stay away from these sites.

But if you have more time than money this could be an
effective way to generate an additional income to help pay
expenses as you get started with your online business.

Do you believe that you have the power to choose success?
If you don’t then success may not be a prominent feature in
your future.

Success is about choosing what you want and then taking
the necessary steps to achieve that goal - and not stopping
until you get there!

You see, before you even beginning to tackle the other
hurdles that lay in your way when building your online
business, you first need to convince yourself that you can
succeed.

If you truly can’t do this and you’re not absolutely and
totally confident that you can achieve your goals, then you
won’t. It’s as simple as that.

If you are not choosing success then it is likely that
something is blocking your ability to change and follow a
new path.

To achieve success you need to break though these mental
barriers to remove whatever is holding you back.

Has something happened in the past to affect your self
esteem? Do you immediately have negative thoughts as soon
as money and success come to mind?

To remove the block you must have focus!

To have focus you must first have an all consuming dream
of where you want to be. Only when you have defined that
dream can you start to focus on it. Focus so intently that
everything you do is done with your dream in mind.

Only when you are able to do this can you move toward your
dreams!

You also need to choose to live your success. You need to
live your life as if you were successful, as if you had
already achieved the goal that you are focusing on.

When you are at work, visualize what your workplace will
be like when you have reached your goal, and place yourself
there. Sit at your desk as if you were running the
multimillion dollar business that you are focusing on.

When you get into your car, visualize what your dream car
will be like and see yourself sitting in it. Visualize
yourself driving away from your dream house.

When you are in your home - look around it and see your
new surroundings. Get inside the feeling - really be there.

The more you do this, the more your subconscious will
think that you are successful and move you towards these
things. Live your success expecting to realize it. Living
it now is a practice run for when it comes to you. After
all, you want to be prepared, don’t you?

Then you need to choose to believe in your success.

What your conscious mind believes, your subconscious
strives to achieve. Look around at your friends and
acquaintances and ask yourself how many of them have
unshakable belief in where they are going. Are they
successful?

Possibly not - they may be in a good job and have a nice
life but they do not have the success factor. Perhaps you
do know of someone with unshakable belief. They may not be
successful now but they will be moving in the right
direction. Watch that space….

Belief is the catalyst which takes the dream and turns the
focus into a plan to get there. Never underestimate the
power of belief.

Last but not least, you need to choose to be emotional
about your success. Belief plus emotion are unstoppable.

If you have utter belief then you will develop emotion. If
you want something badly enough it is emotive. Maybe it is
to get out of debt. If you have suffered the hardships of
this situation you will feel everything to do with debt and
money is charged with emotion.

This is the reason behind so many ‘rags to riches’
stories. Sometimes only the most devastating of emotional
circumstances are the catalyst for change and a move toward
success instead of away from it.

You can choose success. Or you can choose to stay safe and
do what you do now. Guess what - you will still be doing
the same in ten years time.
The question is - do you want to?

Web Design Secrets - Clean and Simple is Best!

We live in a world full of excitement and new technology
that at times seems hard to believe. But this technology
is designed in such a way that even the greenest online
business owners can make use of user-friendly web tools
that add functionality only a web programmer could have
dreamed of just a few years ago.

And that is great, right? Well actually it’s not. Quite
the opposite is true.

You see, the availability and ease of use of such web
tools has resulted in hundreds of “junk” websites being
created that are so poorly designed that the web surfer is
completely confused.

Some of these web pages have as many as 7 or 8 separate
things going on at the same time - flashing header
graphics, an opt in form, Google Adsense ads, several
paragraphs of content, affiliate links, audio buttons and
more!

Don’t be tempted to make such glaring mistakes. It is
unlikely that most web visitors will be able to
successfully navigate such a site. There are just too many
decisions to make. And the content is completely lost among
all the technology and advertising.

So, what is the answer?

Most successful webmasters today will tell you that the
answer is clean, simple, easy to understand website. It
needs to be designed with the best interests of the end-
user in mind . Not your own. You need to make it an
enjoyable experience.

Successful websites focus on 3 basic aspects: simplicity,
clarity and speed. In other words, you need a site that is
visually appealing, but at the same time downloads quickly
and is easy to navigate.

To design a site that has visual appeal, you can make use
of simple graphics, color and graphical text. At all costs,
stay away from flashing animations and busy backgrounds.

In fact, if you want the majority of visitors to be able
to read your text easily a white background with black text
is best.

It isn’t necessary to be an accomplished graphic artist to
design a visually pleasing content site. Grab a photo or
two from a free stock photo site such as www.sxc.hu, add
some colored text and a tagline using a graphics program
like Windows Paint or Paint Shop Pro.

That’s all that is needed for a header. And that’s
assuming you want a header in the first place as studies
have shown that some niche markets achieve better results
without any headers or images at all.

Navigation should be simple text links or buttons, either
across the top, right under the header, or down the left or
right side of the screen. Make sure the text labels clearly
indicate what the user will find when he or she clicks on
them.

An optin form and one or two simple ads can also be placed
in the left or right columns, with your content in the
center of your site so that it draws the reader’s focus.

Clean and simple web design extends to the layout of your
content too. Text is most readable when it is in “chunks.”
This means short sentences and paragraphs of no more than 2
to 4 sentences each.

Make liberal use of colored subheadings and bullets.
Sprinkle a graphic or two per page to break up the text and
add visual interest.

Also use margins (padding) around your text, so that it
doesn’t bump up against the edges of your navigation or ad
panels. Lots of white space is crucial.

In summary, many beginning webmasters (and even some more
experienced ones) think that squeezing as much as they can
into every page is the right approach. It’s not.

What will keep people on your site and keep them coming
back is a clean, simple, easy to navigate design that
doesn’t give them a headache each time they visit your page.

Writing Attention Grabbing, Profit Pulling Ad Copy!

Telling a story or sharing information is fine. But the
bottom line is that you want your reader to take the
desired action, which could include making a purchase,
joining a list or visiting a specific site.

And sometimes the smallest variations in your ad copy can
have a huge impact on your results. The trick is knowing
what works and what doesn’t. This can only be determined
from testing and tweaking, but here are tips to get you
started to writing profit producing ad copy…

1. How the product solve your readers problems.

Personally test the product you are promoting and share
with your readers how it compared to the competition, how
durable it was, how safe it is or how it made a difference
to your life.

In other words, discuss the quality and unique benefits
and how it will solve their problems. And present the
information in a professional way that includes such things
as specific results, before and after photos, graphic
images, a documented case study etc.

2. Build credibility

Tell them why they should buy from you. Don’t hide behind
a postal box or a Yahoo email address. Add your background
information, a photograph of yourself, your previous
results, testimonials from customers, educational courses
and seminars you attend, etc.

In short, let people know who you are and let them know
they are dealing with a real person.

3. Donate a percentage of your sales to your favorite
charity.

Make mention of in your ad copy that you will donate a
percentage of all profits to a charity. This has proven to
be a win-win strategy because you show that you care for
things outside your niche and you’re not just interested in
making a quick buck. This helps to improve your credibility.
But do not say so if you won’t do it…

4. Include ‘better than average’ guarantee.

Include a good, solid guarantee in your offer. And make
sure it’s one that sets you apart from your competitors.
For example, you could make it a lifetime offer and/or give
them back MORE than they paid for your product.

Don’t be too concerned with offering too good of a
guarantee as my own tests have shown that if you are
promoting a high quality product the return rate will be
extremely low (less than 2%), so it will have little impact
on your overall results.

5. Include a PS (Post Script)

Apart from the headline, the PS is the second most read
part of any copy. This may be your last chance to convince
them to take action, so give them a bonus if they reply by
a certain deadline, or repeat the best benefit why the
reader should take action - today!

6. Include your contact details

Make sure to include your complete contact information on
your site in a place where it is easy to find. Your
potential customers need to know that they can contact you
if they have any problems. Think about it. Would you buy
from someone if you didn’t know who they were and had no
way of contacting them?

And don’t forget to test any email addresses and telephone
numbers before going to press.

So next time you need to ace your ad copy, go back over
what you wrote and tweak it for better results. Better yet,
have a contest and invite your readers to do it for you by
asking what they did or didn’t like about your offer. How’s
that for a win-win solution!

Procrastination is basically a way of life for many people
as it allows you to take a more ‘comfortable’ option for
delaying tough decisions.

When people procrastinate they are more often than not
putting off doing something that could be a huge benefit to
them, but for some reason they use more energy and effort
in delaying this task than actually doing it.

If left unchecked procrastination can become habitual and
it this is one of the main reasons why many people do not
achieve their goals or dreams.

So why do people procrastinate?

While there are a number of reasons why this happens, one
of the most common reasons is due to a subconscious fear of
failure, or a fear of change that is stronger than the goal
of success.

Maybe you’ve had a past bad experience and therefore you
are hesitant to venture out of the box for fear of being
‘bitten’ again. Maybe it’s a confidence thing we’re you
just don’t have the self-confidence to breakout of your
comfort zone.

Or maybe it’s because you believe that because you weren’t
born into successful or wealthy beginnings, you will never
amount to anything remotely worthwhile. So rather than
going through the pain of failure, you just don’t bother to
try in the first place.

This is the road of self-destruction. Listen. You’re going
to make a few mistakes along the way - this is all part of
‘playing the game’. But you are also going to hit a few
home runs and it’s during these times you realize how easy
it really is.

Those who are totally committed to attaining their goals
learn to overcome their initial fears and take the
necessary action to do the things they have put off for so
long.

You’ll be surprised that when you break the cycle and take
action a great weight will be lifted from your shoulders
and you will wonder why in the world you didn’t do this
earlier.

But of course overcoming your fear is not always easy.

In fact it can be quite scary as there may be some real
issues that you need to resolve, so you don’t want to make
the wrong decision. So first and foremost you need to carry
out due diligence to satisfy any concerns you may have.

After you’ve done your research and you are happy with
what you have found, it’s time to make you’re your decision
as to whether it is worth your while to take action or not.

But how will you know whether you should take action?

To help you get started here are some steps you should
follow to help you make your decision a little easier (but
please… don’t delay doing it ;) ):

Make a list of all the things you need to do that you have
been putting off, you probably have this “to do” list
already drafted in your mind or written down in a safe
place.

Then, go to a quiet place where you will not be
interrupted for about 20 minutes. Go through each item on
the list and write down your excuses for not having
completed the task already.

Maybe there is a money problem, or you do not think you
have enough education or the proper qualifications.
Whatever it is just write it down and do not worry about
how it will be resolved, you can worry about this later.

Next, go through the list again and write down the
benefits you currently enjoy because you are
procrastinating on these tasks. Yes, you must be receiving
a benefit for not doing the task otherwise you would have
done it by now.

For example - if you wrote down that you do not have
enough education, then the benefit you are receiving right
now by not getting an education is that you have more money
than you would if you were spending it on school fees or
text books.

Another benefit could be that you have more time to do
what you want, instead of spending it locked away for hours
on end studying for boring exams.

When you’ve done this repeat the same process, but this
time write down the benefits you would receive if you
didn’t procrastinate and took action on a particular topic.

Finally, look at all the reasons you have listed as
excuses for procrastinating and the benefits you are
receiving and compare these to the benefits if you did take
action. Do your excuses still make sense?

This is the time to sit down again and make a plan - a
plan that you will stick to and not put off for any longer.
Quickly write down a list of things you will do to make
your dreams a reality and make a “to do” list that you will
actually do!

Then, go through the list again and put them in the order
you will do them (example: Do you need to get a loan before
you can go to college?) Also, write down the date that you
will complete each item.

Now that you have your work planned that you can achieve
in a manageable way, go out and make your dreams come true!

The 60 Second Weekly Tip…

If you use PPC as part of your overall marketing, here are
a few things that are *vitally* important when it comes to
creating a profitable campaign:

1 - Exploit all the low priced traffic you can.

Use as many synonyms, misspellings and localized keywords
as you can to increase traffic. If you use uncommon
keywords you can often bid very low prices (5 & 10 cents)
and drive more cheap traffic to your site.

Using localized keywords that identifies city and/or
state, eg fish tanks in Olando, will often allow you to
receive very targeted traffic for much lower costs.

Also, don’t rely purely on broad match keywords. You can
triple your keyword count by using “phrase” and [exact]
match. And the bonus is that you can pay less for these
keywords :-)

Using these techniques you can often turn a small list of
50-60 keywords and turn it into 1,000 or more!

2 - Always split-test and tweak your ads!

In most cases, by testing and tweaking your ads you can
increase your click-through rates from an average of 1% up
to 10% just by making a few changes. This alone gives you
up to 10 times more traffic.

All you need do is create 2 separate ads with a single
change and test which one performs the best. Then create
and test another ad against the best performing one to see
if you can improve your results.

For example, my testing has found that removing the “www”
and capitalizing the first letters in your domain name can
have a remarkable impact on your results, eg DomainName.com

If it wasn’t for testing and tweaking I would have never
realized this and I would have continued to leave profits

3 - Disable the Content Network option!

When you first create your campaign, disable the content
network to improve your conversions and reduce your costs.

Then when you’ve tested and tweaked you ad to obtain
acceptable results, enable the content network for your
keywords, but bid a much lower price than you would for
keywords on the search network.

As a rule of thumb use 30% of the amount you bid for
keywords on the search network. This way you can increase
your traffic and build your profits, but at a much lower
cost.

4 - Never send visitors directly to an affiliate site!

Above all, you must ALWAYS capture your visitors contact
details BEFORE sending them to the affiliate website.

Do this by registering your own domain name and then place
a capture page on this site to entice your visitors to join
your list by offering them information relating to your
topic. When they sign up then you can forward them to the
affiliate site.

Not only can you contact them at a later date to help
convince them to purchase your chosen affiliate product,
you can also offer them other related products at a later
stage. If you do this, you can double or triple your
profits virtually overnight.

Ready, Fire, Aim!

Success in any endeavor can be linked back to one simple
truth… Learning does not always require thinking!

This is a bold statement, but thinking often hinders
learning. Hinders learning? Wow. That flies in the face of
most of what we know doesn’t it?

As children we were often reproached when we made
mistakes: “What were you thinking! Don’t you ever think
about what you’re doing?”

Then there’s the most successful personal development book
of all time telling us to do what. That’s right, “Think and
Grow Rich”.

True it is a fantastic book and a must read for success
minded people. But many of us get so tangled in thoughts
that we can’t get them out of our “heads” and this
restricts us form taking the required action for success.

Socrates, one of the greatest “thinkers” of all time said,
“Action equals knowledge.”

Action, not thinking, is how we achieve results.

Take playing the piano for instance. We could think about
playing the piano, but if you did you would never improve
until you start just letting it happen and start pecking
away at the keys.

If you asked an accomplished pianist to start think about
the keys they are playing in the middle of a rapturous
concert, the music would probably fall apart into a series
of painfully disconnected notes.

The same is true with typing.

Ask a person who flawlessly types over 70 words a minute
to think about the keystrokes and you could probably watch
the mistakes pile up. You see it’s all done automatically.
Once you start thinking about it you interrupt the mental
process.

Thinking hinders execution - and thinking can hinder
success. The fact of the matter is we can intellectualize
all we want, but until we take action we will never
accomplish anything!

There is a mantra in the martial arts that says “Ready,
Fire, Aim”. Simply put, this means take action and correct
that action as you go.

It is quite probable that many businesses never get out of
the starting gate because of over-thinking and over
analyzing. Most people want all their ducks to be lined up
in a row before they begin. This will never happen. The
time will never be perfect.

The key is to dig in and get started - and then “keep on
keeping on.”

In the martial arts, students practice moves over and over
and over again. They train their bodies to transcend
thought and take action in the moment.

Imagine a trained martial artist getting attacked on the
street thinking, “Hmm, okay I’m being attacked. Should I
turn my body this way or should it be the other way? Okay,
now I have to trap the assailments arms, tighten my fists,
pull back, and strike.”

Of course this is not what happens in the martial arts.
The key teaching in the martial arts is to ACT NOW - in
spite of the mind’s tenancy to analyze the situation.

The worst kind of thinking is fear of failure. The “What
if” disease. “What if I fail? What if people laugh at me?
What if I lose all my money? What if, what if, what if”?

Fear is paralyzing. It stops the movement necessary for
success. Fear weakens our resolve, cripples our creativity
and ultimately stagnates our successes. Conversely,
movement overcomes fear. When struck by fear, move. You
need to DO something!

So, don’t wait to explore your entrepreneurial spirit;
take action now - and watch your dreams and goals cascade
toward you.

How to Use Traditional Methods to Grow Your Business?

If you take the time to talk to almost any prominent
advertising agency or Fortune 500 company you will almost
certainly hear the latest buzz words like “fragmented
advertising” and “consumer-centric campaigns”.

So this leads to the questions - What is fragmentation
exactly?

In basic terms this is the increase in the number of
available methods for getting your message to your audience.

One of the main difficulties faced by any business owner
is that advertising has changed and evolved over the last
few years. It is now all encompassing and includes a wide
range of mediums such as visual, audio and electronic media.

In fact, if you do a Google search for advertising, you
will be amazed at all the options that are available.

For example, if you just focus on the advertising options
for your website you’ll find popups, popovers, audio
messages, flash video, RSS, and even animated “sales
people” that can be programmed to appear right on your site
and interact with your customers.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

So is traditional advertising that includes the likes of
newspapers and magazines, television, billboards and radio
dead?

Not by a long shot. According to one top advertising
expert, traditional advertising methods are still highly
sort after because they are still very successful. The
trick is to figure out who your target market is, what they
want, and how they traditional find the information they
are searching for.

If you know customers, you can focus your advertising
dollars on the mediums they use to find their answers.

If your customers are senior citizens who traditional do
not use the Internet, then focus the majority of your
advertising on more established mediums such as newspapers,
magazines, television, and radio that they are reading,
watching or listening to.

If your target market focuses on working parents, you need
to do research to find out how, when and where they get
their information. Things you need to determine include:

Do they use the Internet?
Do they watch television?
What magazines are they reading?
What radio stations do they listen to?
When and Why?

Here are some simple steps for creating an effective
advertising campaign:

1. Know your audience.

What do they want? Where do they shop? What do they read?
How old are they? Where do they hang out? Do they need your
product or services? Can they afford your product or
services?

2. Know your competition.

Be prepared to do a little detective work. What are your
three main competitors doing to advertise? Where are they
advertising? How often? What types of advertising methods
are they using? How long have they been running? Are you
reaching the same audience? Is your message different?

Look at what they’re doing right, and figure out creative
ways that you can make your advertising just a little bit
better, or differentiate yourself from the crowd.

3. Monitor the ‘big dogs’ of your market.

If there’s something you’ve got to keep an eye on in the
Internet, it’s the big guys. Take particular notice of what
they are doing in your field and see if you can adapt some
of their methods to your target audience and your budget.

If they’re spending big dollars, you can expect that it’s
working!

4. Know your message.

What exactly are you trying to say? What do your customers
want to hear? Why should they buy from you, and not someone
else? Make every word count.

The Internet has made unbelievable amounts of information
accessible so the chances are your customers are much more
tech-savvy than they were a few years ago. But the Internet
also has contributed to “information overload” so you need
to make it easier for them to obtain what it is they are
seeking.

Another side effect of the Internet is that your customers
have probably become used to getting “instant
gratification” when they are looking for information,
products or services. They want it, and they want it now.

So you also need to give your customers what they want,
when they want it.

If you want to have an effective advertising campaign,
don’t try to be everything to everyone. Think of your
advertising as a conversation between you and your one
“ideal” customer.

Remember, if you’re giving your customers what they want,
then you have to develop your campaign so they don’t
perceive your ads as a nuisance, they see them as a service.

Mark my words. traditional advertising is not dead. If you
pay attention to who your customers are, and what they want
you can use it to your maximum advantage.
