I am sure that you have definitely come across ads that
read: “1,000,000 email contacts for just $29.99″. And they
may even off to deliver the names in a CD directly to your
doorstep.
This is a trap for the newbie. You know that you need to
get a big list to make it online, so rather than using more
conventional methods that can take many months, you decide
to take a shortcut to build you list.
Stop!
Whatever you do, DO NOT be conned into grabbing these
emails. Sure, having 1,000,000 subscribers is the best
thing that could ever happen to any Internet Marketer - but
as the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, then
it often is.
What many beginning marketers do not understand is that
bulk email companies harvest the contact details of
unsuspecting people using robots that steal this
information without the webmasters knowledge. This is the
only way they are able to get this huge number of emails
for such a low price - and it’s unlawful.
And the sad part is that if you purchase these so-called
1,000,000 names even at a low price, not only is it a waste
of money, you are also risk being accused of spamming.
Even if they provide a time and date stamp of when that
the person has opted into someone else’s list, this is
worthless. This is because not a single person on this list
has personally subscribing to YOUR list and given you
permission to send them emails.
So in affect, when you send them your offer by way of
email you are breaking the law and you can be prosecuted or
have your website shutdown by your host indefinitely.
Not only this, but you don’t even know if the people on
the list are real or whether they are even contactable. For
all you know (and this is more than likely the case) these
emails are non-existent and therefore can’t be delivered.
So the next time you read an offer like this, run for the
hills and save your money. There is no substitute for the
real thing, so your best option is to collect your own
email addresses legitimately using proven strategies to
build your own responsive list.

Being a full-time affiliate marketer is much easier now
compared to the days when people had to make use of the
telephones, bulk mail and other mediums of information just
to contact their readers with their latest content or
promotion.
So with technology at hand, and assuming your are an
affiliate marketer working from home, a day in your life
would sound something like this…
Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is
turned on to check out new developments in your niche
markets and to check your emails for important tasks. There
may be new things to update and statistics to keep track of.
The site design has to be revised. You know that a well-
designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can
also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.
That done, it is now time to submit your affiliate program
and an article you have written to the relevant online
directories. These directories are a means of attracting
people in join your list or affiliate program.
Time to track down the sales you are getting from your
promotions. There are orders and emails to track down. See
if there are new clients checking the products out and to
take note of contact information that might be a viable
source in the future.
There are lots of resources to sort out and new products
to review. You need to develop solo ads, or write an honest
product recommendation for your next promotions, as you
know that this is a proven way of ensuring more sales. It
is always best to stay visible and accessible.

Without question, the best way to grow your own subscriber
list is to convince your visitors to join your subscriber
list through the use of a landing page. Using this method
you can build a very sizable list.
Also known as the “name squeeze page” or “lead capture
page”, you can build your mailing list by funneling all of
your would-be subscribers through the creation of a landing
page. Not only do you do the work just once, your traffic
driving efforts can be focused onto just one effective
method.
The following are tips in creating a successful landing
page that converts visitors into subscribers on a very huge
percentage.
Success Tip 1: Offer a freebie of perceivable value in
exchange for your visitor’s email address. I very much
endorse this method of building your mailing list. You can
offer a special report or a sample of your paid product to
your visitor in exchange for visitor joining your list.
Success Tip 2: The landing page must be written in a
professional manner. When writing your page, treat it as if
you are writing a sales letter for a paid product. While
you are not necessarily trying to make a hard sale or
trying to get someone to buy your product upfront, enticing
your visitors to give you their is just as important as
selling.
Success Tip 3: Other than your opt-in form and perhaps
important disclaimers and terms, there shouldn’t be any
other links on your landing page to distract them from
taking the action you want them to take, which should be to
optin to your list.
Success Tip 4: Rub in the benefits of what you are
offering more than a mere subscription to your newsletter.
You should focus most of the attention of the letter on
encouraging your prospective visitor to download your free
offer and how they can benefit from doing this. Later, you
gently remind your prospect that he or she has nothing to
pay but just merely subscribe to your newsletter in
exchange for the freebie.
Success Tip 5: As a final reminder and conclusion, in
order to build trust, you can include your hand-written
signature or a photo of yourself explaining where you are
coming from and how you can help your visitor through your
free report on offer.
Success Tip 6: After your visitor subscribes to your list,
have them redirected to a thank you page that explains that
they will be receiving a confirmation email where they need
to click on the link in this email to confirm that they
agree to receive further emails from you. (this is called
“double optin and protects you again future spam complaints)
Success Tip 7: On your thank you page, also provide a
special “one time only” discounted offer for a product your
own or are promoting. Explain that if they pass on this
offer they will never see again - and mean it.
You’d be surprise at how responsive people can be if you
can provide them with a solution to their needs, while
creating a sense of trust and enough urgency to convince
them to take action.
