October 13th thoughts

October 13, 2005 9:28 pm

On friday October 13th, 1307, in the early morning, King Philip IV of France had all the Templars arrested on the grounds of heresy, since this was the only charge that would allow the seizing of their money and assets.
That day thousands of Templars were arrested and subsequently tortured. They then ‘confessed’ and were executed.

From that day on, Friday the 13th was considered by followers of the Templars as an evil and unlucky day.

Although this is not friday, I wanted to remind you one of the supposed origin of this well-known superstition.
