RSS - What Is It And How To Use It In Your Business?
November 23, 2005 12:10 amAnother growing trend in internet marketing is using
RSS. You’re probably asking, “what is RSS and why
should I use it in my business?”
RSS stands for “Real Simple Syndication.” It is a
publishing standard that allows you to deliver
information directly to your subscribers’ desktops.
This superb new tool is similar to an autoresponder
because you can input your business messages,
newsletter issues, and more into the RSS feed, which
will then instantly send the information to your
subscribers’ desktops.
This is similar to how an autoresponder will automatically
send out your email to your subscribers when you input the
email message into the autoresponder.
All your subscribers have to do is subscribe to your
RSS Feed and they will automatically and instantly
receive all information when you make the information
available to them.
RSS also allows you to enter real-time news feeds,
articles, and other information into your website
so that you can provide the latest, up-to-date
information in your field of interest.
Many internet marketers will use RSS to provide
business and technology news feeds for their
websites. This way, their subscribers and visitors
will be up-to-date with the latest news in their
fields of interest.
This will also encourage your subscribers and
visitors to return to your website to learn about
the latest news from your field. It will also
boost your credibility as an “expert” in your
field because you provide the latest news from
that field.
Because your subscribers will constantly visit
your website, they will remember it better and
also learn more about you and your business.
This will encourage them to seriously consider
your offers and purchase them.
Internet marketers will also use RSS if they
promote many affiliate products. This will enable
visitors to search through them and order more
easily.
Another use for RSS is when you have multiple
websites for your business (for different products,
etc.) You can use one centralized RSS feed to update
all websites at the same time, instead of having to
update each website individually. This saves
valuable time in managing your online business.
In order to stream RSS content, you need an RSS feed
generator. There are many available online that you
can download.
Here is one for free:

In order for your subscribers to view RSS content, they
need an RSS reader, many of which are available for
free online.
Here are some free RSS readers:

1.5 MB!)
RSS is expected to be the preferred way to deliver
information within the next few years, so integrate
RSS into your business now!
